Gorgeous Barn Conversion

Overview

Property

Updated: 07-Oct-2016
Barn in Staunton-on-Wye,Hereford, Herefordshire, England - Set In The Picturesque Herefordshire Countryside

Lower House Barn has been lovingly converted to a high standard to create an enticing combination of original character features with modern facilities to offer welcoming, well equipped accommodation. The Hayloft, on the first floor, the Stable and the Bullpen on the ground floor, all have comfortable beds and en-suite bathrooms, the latter having features which make it suitable for wheelchair users. There is also a sofa bed in the lounge area giving the opportunity for 8 people to stay in the Barn if required. The ground floor living accommodation is open plan and patio doors lead out from the lounge area to the walled private patio area with garden furniture and BBQ. There is a tennis court available and also a table tennis table.

The Barn is well situated for exploring the scenic Herefordshire countryside including the Wye and Golden Valleys, Offa's Dyke, the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons National Park. The beautiful Cathedral City of Hereford and the quaint, internationally renowned town of Hay-on-Wye, the 'town of books' and famous for its Literary Festival, are both approximately 10 miles away. The picturesque black and white villages of Weobley, Eardisley, Pembridge and Eardisland are also a short drive away. We are lucky to have a pub within a 5 minute walk of the property as well as many others serving good food only a short drive away. Nearby also is Oakchurch, a locally owned Farm Shop with restaurant and garden centre, which is definitely worth a visit! We are happy to have received a Visit England Four Star Gold Award for the Barn in recognition of exceptional quality of accommodation and customer service.

About the Owner

Martin & I have lived here at Lower House, a half timbered farmhouse dating back to the 1700's, since 1985. Our intention was to renovate and move on but almost 30 years on, we are still here! It became our family home where we brought up our three children (plus numerous dogs, cats, horses, sheep and chickens) and where I have offered Bed & Breakfast since 1991. We just love it here and have so enjoyed meeting many interesting people who have stayed with us that Martin, being a builder, decided to seek planning permission to convert part of our outbuildings into self contained holiday accommodation. It has been hard work but we are so pleased with the way our Barn conversion has turned out and just hope you will love it too. We look forward to welcoming you!

A beautiful conversion in a fantastic part of Herefordshire. We really enjoyed celebrating our friend's birthday here and spent a great day on the river too. Thanks for a lovely weekend

Luxurious and spacious barn conversion

  • 5 of 5

The property has everything you'll need for a very relaxing stay. Very well equipped kitchen. The owner Di was on hand should anything be required but it never was. One of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in.

Stunning barn conversion with everything you need.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a long weekend and the accommodation was superb. It has been renovated to a really high standard and has everything you need. Lots to do in the local area and when we came back from a day out there was even some cake waiting for us in the property. I would not hesitate in recommending this property and we will be returning!
