About the property

Super panoramic, walking distance to town, private pool, Wifi, air conditioning

A perfect combination of modern and traditional features makes this villa particularly comfortable, practical without compromising on character. The vicinity of a pretty historical centre (Palaia - reached on foot - no sidewalk but still viable) with a couple of excellent restaurants makes it ideal for dining out without driving.

Amenities include: air conditioning throughout the villa, Wifi Dsl fast covering the whole property, fully equipped kitchen with laundry (no dryer) for longer stays, fully fenced grounds for extra safety. A built in barbecue and outdoor dining facilities. Our local assistants are available in case of need 24h and a tailor made villa book with up to date practicalities/suggestions is provided.

Extremely easy to reach, all on paved roads and centrally located to explore within 1h 15min the cities of Florence, Siena. Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano, Volterra are within 40min away and an array of smaller and charming villages are a stone's throw away. Families will appreciate day visits to the local prehistoric park and Pinocchio park and food&wine lovers will be spoilt for choice.

The villa enjoys utter tranquillity and privacy but it is not remote: there's a bunch of resident homes nearby but cannot be seen from the outdoor dining area nor the pool, which face the opposite side with views of the valley and the Apuan Alps in the horizon.

The grassy and fully enclosed gardens are ideal for kids. Here the large swimming pool (14m x 7m, 1.5m deep) is equipped with sun beds and umbrellas and it is open May to September (extensions might be possible).

A built in barbecue is found by the furnished outdoor dining area facing the pool for your al fresco meals with a view!

On request we have a cot and high chair and we accept pets as long as they are trained not to dirt the garden.

We, the owners of Villa Montevizzano, are Giordano and Graziella. In addition to being grateful grandparents who appreciate the values of life, we like to offer you the opportunity of a restful and rejuvenating break in one of the most beautiful places in the world: Tuscany. We come from another sector of business, the leather industry, which is famous in this region. However, we have learnt from our many worldly guests to have an appreciation for hospitality. With this valuable advice we have been able to furnish our property to provide a comfortable place to enjoy your leisure time. This is an opportunity not to be missed! We cannot speak English so our replies to your requests are translated by our assistants. However, you are booking directly with us.

Giordano, Graziella & Serena purchased this villa in 2005

Why Giordano, Graziella & Serena chose Palaia

Initially the house was meant to be for our family. When our children decided to live elsewhere, we came up with the idea of offering our property to those who want to discover or return to Tuscany for their holidays.

What makes this villa unique

This is what our guests say:

Comfortable, spacious, bright, clean, beautiful landscape and ideal location for either a quiet holiday or more specialised activities for those who want it. The only minus point is you have to leave it after the holiday!

Fabulous stay in a great villa

  • 5 of 5

We loved our two-week stay at Villa Montevizzano with four adults and two teenage children. The pool was huge, the outside furniture meant that all six of us were comfortable and the two terraces meant we could be in or out of the sun all day long.

Inside, the kitchen was well-equipped and the large table seated us all happily. The beds were comfortable, the showers powerful and everything was clean and tidy. Our Dubai-dwelling couple made use of the aircon, but we felt that the house remained cool inside even in a heatwave.

Exploring the Tuscan countryside was a delight, and Palaia is a pretty town that can supply everyday needs. Local restaurants were good, and easy to visit with only the tiniest amount of Italian (standard English travellers...). The furthest we ventured was Siena, which was about 1hr 20mins drive, but we visited Pisa, Lucca, Volterra, Monteriggioni, Livorno, Certaldo (highly recommended) and many smaller hilltop towns.

All in all, we'd thoroughly recommend Villa Montevizzno. The only problem was leaving. We just didn't want to!

Wonderful villa

  • 5 of 5

Lovely villa with everything we needed. Beds were very comfortable. Best night sleep I've had in a villa! Pool was a great size and the views were fab. Palaia was nice to go into on an evening bit I wouldn't recommend walking as the streets were quite narrow. We enquired about a taxi but it would have been €70 due to the location

Fabulous villa with pool

  • 5 of 5

When we arrived at the villa we were more than impressed with what we found. It's a wonderful spacious house which accommodated our party of 6. It had every facility we could possibly want for our holiday. The pool is huge and very well kept, it was cleaned regularly during our stay. We were met by Giordana, our very friendly host. Serena and Giordana were available to answer any of our questions before and during our visit. Nothing was too much trouble. The villa is within easy walking of Palaia which has a couple of nice restaurants. Firenze, San gimignano, pisa and lucca are all within 30 or 40 minutes of the villa. We can't wait to go back to this villa again. Highly recommend. Thanks Serena and Giordana.

My family stay was amazing at this absolutely stunning villa. It was a great location for us we went to pisa, florence, lucca, empoli, and lots more on our route to them. Palaia being the closest to you they have a handful of restaurants and few shops with essentials shops, clothes, bags, jewellery etc so a good selection. we didn't walk there, we always drove but it isn't that far at all. Forcoli being the closest supermarket is 10mins away in the car has pretty much all you need to do a shop. And there is bank, pharmacy selection of restaurants and shops.

The villa had the most incredible views, it is peaceful, clean, well equipped, and more than we ever expected especially for such great value! The photos don't give it justice just how beautiful it is!

The owner Giordano took us cherry picking one of the days which both my children loved and couldn't get enough of, they were delicious!

The whole home, gardens and pool were kept to a really clean and high standard.

We have already been discussing our return for next year as we loved our stay so much.

Thank you so much Giordano, Graziella and Serena.

great house for a super vacation

  • 4 of 5

Overall it is a very good house to rent, although the arrival wasn't good. The tennants before us had made a mess, and this wasn't cleaned properly and there was no one to welcome us. It tooks us several hours of additional cleaning. So the first impression was not good.

Next day we met the owner, he apologised for the mess (I would have expected a bottle wine or something for this mess) and everything that needed to be fixed was fixed the next day.

From that moment on, it was very good; great house, great view, great pool, nothing to complain and we had a super vacation.

Amazing propery, fantastic views.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed an amazing 2 week stay at Villa Montevizzano. The location is great, and we managed to visit Pisa, Florence, Sienna and San Gimignano with ease, all about an hour away or less. Although Palaia is within walking distance, there are no paths (for the majority of the way) and would take quite a while to reach the first restraint/bar. We didn't risk this as we had young children, but probably achievable. The best part of our day was the sunset, sitting on the patio (Chianti in hand) overlooking the pool and the panoramic view. Giordano & Serena made us feel very welcome and we will definitely be returning.
