About the Owner

My husband and I have lived in France since 2006. We bought our current house and cottage in 2013 and recently finished the renovation so that holidaymakers can enjoy the cottage and surroundings as much as we do.

'Relaxing break'

We had a lovely stay at this gite. It had everything we needed and was very cosy. The swimming pool although cold was great fun and many happy hours spent in it! The garden was lovely for relaxing in and evening bbq's.

When the weather was to chilly to sit outside the games room was a great place to spend time in. Thank you to Irene and Geoff for being lovely hosts.

'Great holiday'

We had a fantastic week at the granary. Irene and Geoff were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The gite is spacious and comfy with everything you could need on site. The garden and pool area are perfect and the pool was a great way to cool off in the hot sun. We used the gite as a base for exploring both the local area and slightly further afield. It was lovely to come 'home' to this beautiful house. If you have children, the rooms are large enough to accommodate families and they will love the games room, garden and pool. We would definitely go back to this wonderful gite in a beautiful and accessible part of France.

'More than welcoming stay'

The owners were very welcoming, greeting us on our arrival. The wine. cheese and bread was a lovely welcoming gift (and nice to settle down to after a long drive!).

The kids loved the pool which was maintained perfectly. The Granary is approx 30 mins to the Opal Coast where we visited Le Touquet and is a very well kept beach and a nice little town to visit. Otherwise approx 1hr drive to the Somme battlefields which we visited Albert (museum made from under- ground tunnels) and the Canadian memorial in Beaumont-Hamel (battlefield of the 1st day of the Battle of the Somme), very humble place with trenches which captured the kids imaginations. We also visited Nausicaa (a very good aquarium 1hr back up towards Calais in Boulogne). We need to return just to visit the many sites that are around the area!

We've not even mentioned the games room that Geoff has created in the barn - perfect for when the weather wasn't on our side! Not only that but the extensive DVD collection that they have available more than kept the kids quiet during the evenings!

All in all we could not recommend the Granary and Geoff and Irene enough; a fantastic "shabby chic" place to stay; Geoff and Irene are a lovely couple who could not do enough for us during our stay.

A very comfortable property with a warm welcome from our hosts.

  • 5 of 5

The property is ideal as a base to visit the wealth of local attractions. There is easy access to the motorway and other main roads. The attractions include the larger towns of Boulogne, Abbeville and Amiens as well as the seaside resorts of Berck and Fort Mahon.

The property itself boasts a lovely large garden with a swimming pool as well as a games room.

The gite itself is comfortable with a range of facilities such as the satellite TV and dvd, a well set out kitchen and a charming bathroom. The bedrooms are both very spacious.

All in all a very enjoyable break.

A perfect place for a family holiday, offering lovely accommodation, a great pool and games room.

  • 5 of 5

I can't say a negative word about this place. We were welcomed so warmly by Irene and Geoff, who are perfect hosts, being simultaneously friendly and discreet, and always ready to help and advise. The house is perfect, we felt so at home and relaxed there, and we all loved the pool especially the children, who were never bored. The games room was a great place for a ping pong tournament, billiards and darts.

The house is perfectly equipped, clean, and attractively decorated - and Irene and Geoff have the biggest selection of movies on DVD I have ever seen! The region is very pretty, peaceful, with lots of places to visit, and a really nice local restaurant in the village.

All in all a great place for a family holiday. I thoroughly recommend it.
