About the property

Villa in Kalkan, Mediterranean Region, Turkey - Peaceful Location And Only A One Minute Walk To The Bars, Restaurants And Shops

Arguably the most romantic hideaway, Villa Bianca is tucked away in the Kalkan 'Old Town' district, famous for its jasmine scented, Bougainvillea lined cobbled streets leading down to the harbour, and a stone's throw from the best restaurants and bars and the 'Blue Flag' beach. Villa Bianca is an historic 3 storey, 3 en suite bedroom townhouse with its own private courtyard, filled with Palms Hibiscus and Bougainvillea. It oozes with regional charm. Newly renovated to the highest specification in 2012 and retaining many original features, including exposed brickwork and white washed beams, it has been brought into the 21st Century with every 'mod con'. The villa is a wonderful retreat for honeymoon couples, romantics and even for a family with teenage children. It is in the centre of Kalkan accessed from a little cobbled side street. All restaurants and shops are within a minutes' walk. No car hire necessary. About the home: There are 3 bedrooms all en-suite. Two are doubles and the third is a twin. They are accessed by a spiral staircase. The master bedroom is on the first floor and has a balcony which is quite spacious and has wonderful views. It has a super king sized bed and a TV/DVD. This is a lovely place to sit and have breakfast overlooking the sea and village. It has a superb modern shower/WC. The second double bedroom en-suite is on the top floor and has far reaching and spectacular views across the bay over to the mountains and across the town. Outside this room there is a large terrace which stretches across the whole length of the building, allowing guests to sunbathe and relax in total privacy. The views from this room are from large glass windows which are wall to ceiling with doors opening onto the fabulous terrace. The terrace has a large shaded canopy area, a private sunbathing area and a rooftop complex consisting of a third shower/WC room. The views at night, with the lights of Kalkan twinkling from the roof top restaurants are a sight that will be remembered many years after departure. It has a king sized bed. The third bedroom is a very pretty twin en-suite bedroom on the first floor. The open plan dining kitchen is fully fitted with high quality kitchen furniture and appliances. The seating area is very comfortable and leads directly out to the lower terrace area with a plunge pool. There is flat screen TV and Ipod docking station with WiFi. The outside seating area is a unique walled private courtyard which has great character and charm. It has scented flowers growing up the walls, it is very pretty, has many comfortable chairs and a marble topped table for outside dining.

We're just back from a week in Villa Bianca. Its a beautiful property with wonderful views

and despite being in the centre of the old town, it has a private courtyard where we could

soak up the sun and have a dip in the small plunge pool.

It's a traditional property but has been sympathetically updated with all mod cons

including en suite shower rooms to each bedroom.

The kitchen is really well equipped and we enjoyed buying fresh fish from the local fish

shop (up near the taxi rank) and cooking it and eating it in either the gorgeous courtyard

or on one of the lovely terraces.

We ate out most days and Villa Bianca is literally a handful of metres away from the lovely

Kalkan restaurants and the sea. So we were able to trot home under our own steam

without any need for taxis etc.

I would recommend this place wholeheartedly to anyone who wants a peaceful, relaxing

holiday and who doesn't mind the property being spread over three floors via a marble

spiral staircase. It was perfect for me and my boyfriend and could easily have a

accommodated another couple. Probably not suitable for people with mobility issues or

small children. But for us, absolutely perfect and we hope to return soon.

"A beautiful villa perfectly situated"

This was Our first visit to kalkan and we where blown away with villa Bianca from the

minute we arrived, it's situated so close to all that's on offer in kalkan - great rooftop

restaurants and lots of lovely shops and no car or taxis needed.

Everything in the villa is first class and the views spectacular! The balconies are perfect

for watching the harbour activity during the day and enjoying the fantastic sunset after a

stroll home from the beach

The pretty private courtyard is perfect for sunbathing, alfresco dining and cooling off in

the pool. The decor in the villa is modern and very comfortable. Loved it!

Kalkan has a lovely local beach near to all of the amenities and the harbour. There is a great choice of beach clubs which offer water sports, restaurants and bathing platforms.

Dalaman airport is 110 km from Kalkan and a 1.5 hour drive. Transfers can be arranged.

The town is a one minute walk from the property. There is more to this region than the fantastic views, particularly if you like visiting ancient sites such as Patara, Kas, Tlos, Letoon and Xanthos which are all fairly near to Kalkan, and can be reached by private car or taxi. Alternatively a day at Saklikent Gorge walking through icy waters to cool down in midsummer is always a treat and the scenery en-route is beautiful.

Further Details:

Kalkan was originally a fishing village and although it has grown into a popular holiday destination it still retains its traditional charm and the old quarter remains unspoilt. If you want to holiday where you won’t find noisy discos, big hotels or loud traffic Kalkan is the place for you. The pretty cobbled streets of the old town are an Aladdin's cave with an abundance of shops, selling clothes, jewellery, handbags, gifts etc. The restaurants in Kalkan offer an exceptionally

high standard of food and service, (really fresh food, well presented and with good service.) Many restaurants have romantic roof terraces looking out over Kalkan and others are so low-key that many visitors never notice them. There are also some very sophisticated restaurants overlooking the harbour where you can ensure great service, food and atmosphere. Eating out is excellent value and the Turkish wines are surprisingly good.

Kapatus is probably one of the most stunning in the Mediterranean. It is a 10 minute drive or bus ride and Patara Beach is a 15 minutes from Kalkan. Kapatus beach lies between the sheer falez rocks, and is the best known natural bay formed by the Toros Mountains running perpendicular to the shore. Patara beach is not far from the sites of Letoon and Xanthos and a day trip from Kalkan, Ka or Fethiye could easily combine the sites. The beautiful 12 km-long

Patara Beach, was voted one of the top beaches in the world by Times Online.

Boat trips:

A lazy day at sea looking out onto the turquoise waters or back to the amphitheatre that is Kalkan with a wonderful home made lunch, is a favourite day out. You can go further afield to the sunken city of Kekova too.

Other activities:

Walks along the Lycian way and horse riding can be enjoyed, where you can take in the breathtaking scenery at a more leisurely pace.
