Apartment in Frigiliana, Costa del Sol, Spain - Peaceful Location, 10 Minutes Drive To The Beach

This spacious modern 2 bedroom apartment is in the stunning complex of Residencial La Fuente. This lovely apartment is tastefully furnished and has lovely views from the large terrace Almijaras mountains, over the valleys filled with almond and avocado trees, down to Nerja and the sea. The complex is extremely maintained and the beautifully landscaped gardens offer peaceful walks down to the communal pool, children’s pool and tennis court. Only 2 minutes walk away is the historic area of Frigiliana village nestling in the foothills of one of Spain’s most beautiful national parks, it is a beautiful white washed Moorish hill village, with a maze of clean cobbled streets, very quiet and relaxing, with ample choice of restaurants, boutiques and village shops for supplies. There are fabulous beaches only a 10 minutes drive away in the nearby vibrant town of Nerja.

This is a family owned and loved apartment. We fell in love with Frigiliana on our first visit only last year, and we bought the apartment there and then!. Based in the UK, we spend our holidays here with our family and friends, and always have a fantastic time.

We would love you to come and stay at the apartment and enjoy it, the facilities and Frigiliana as much as we do.

Fabulous time, great apartment

Excellent location in the heart of the village, the apartment was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you need. Excellent restaurants all within walking distance so no need to go into Nerja. I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment. Hope to visit again soon.

Great apartment in beautiful Frigiliana

We are a family with 2 toddlers. We really enjoyed our stay in Kate's spacious and well appointed apartment. There is a big sunny balcony to enjoy and relax on. The apartment is within walking distance of numerous restaurants. The Taberna a 2 minute walk to the right of the apartment felt like an authentic Spanish place with great food and wine. Frigiliana itself is an amazing place. A very pretty little traditional town set amongst the natural beauty of the mountains and modern enough to cater for most tourist needs.

A great apartment

We loved the apartment and Frigiliana. We are a family of four and the apartment suited us brilliantly. Clean, spacious, great facilities and a lovely outside space with wonderful views.

We used the pool quite a lot and even though it was shared by lots of other apartments, it never got too busy.

Perfect for exploring the town, with lots of amazing shops and places to eat. We also went to the local beaches, loving the beach near Maro, although a bit of a nightmare to park, the beach and sea were amazing.

We would love to visit again. Thank you Kate for helping us have such a great holiday.

Clairly

This property has everything you need for a relaxing stay in the Old town of Frigiliana. The views from the balcony are stunning over the mountains down to the sea.

The apartment is conveniently located and gives you a wonderful feel for a Spanish village.

The pool, most days, was all to ourselves which my kids loved too! It is also clean, well kept, with convenient toilets beside it (useful for 3 and 6 yr old kids!). I also loved that it wasn't overlooked by any apartments or buildings, very private.

The kitchen was fantastically equipped as other reviewers had commented.

Kate's attention to detail in the welcome pack was fab on the first few days to get our bearings of the local surroundings, restaurants and walks.

My parents who are in 60's and 70 thoroughly enjoyed the stay too. Great apartment for all ages.

We intend to return it was that fab!!

Attention to detail in the most perfect location

Very simply - Kate has thought of everything! Communication was prompt and constant to ensure everything was sorted. (It was a huge bonus we live just 10 minutes apart and were able to meet face to face)!

The area itself is a greek- looking village up the mountains just a short bus ride away from the beach. Whilst we spent most of the time up here, we did also venture to the beach on a few of the days. If you do this, be prepared for intense heat with little shade depending on which one you go to! As sun worshippers this didn't bother us at all but would need elements of preparation with little ones.

The locals in the village are friendly, polite and very very sweet. It is the perfect get away to somewhere for local wine and peace. Kate has thought of all the tiny details - even down to providing washing detergent, pegs and copious hangers!! The small details like the heart shaped curtain hooks were just lovely and made it a real home from home. The apartment was spotless on arrival and even had a bottle of cold water in the fridge which was heaven sent. The addition of a complex only pool meant we had it to ourselves all week!

Although there are some English here, the area has 'real locals', cobbled streets, little hidden restaurants, galleries and bodegas. Perfect for photographers!

Kate has left a wonderful selection of recommendations of restaurants and tips but to add to this we found our favourites to be

El Mirador - Seemingly the very very top of the village. Beautiful views and absolutely fantastic food. It is the 'fine' dining restaurant with less than maybe 20 tables. This was also recommended to us by friends who had previously been and it did not fail to live up to expectations. Recommend for a special night.

La Tahona is known for its tapas. This is a very sweet family run restaurant with a terrace. If you are able to get to the terrace with one tiled table for 2 you will have the views to yourself. The owner was also more than happy to amend their set menu for food allergies that I have and apologised for keeping us waiting a few minutes whilst he 'tended to his cows.' Having fully adopted the Spanish way of life we hadn't even realised!

The Garden restaurant is the row below El Mirador and has a moroccan style vibe. Very very good lamb and staff!

I would definitely recommend both Frigiliana and Kate to friends and family and will certainly look to return myself too. Thank you for a wonderful week!

We stayed here in Frigiliana at La Fuente and loved it so much we bought an apartment here!

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

There are several beaches in nearby Nerja, including the famous Burriana beach, all approx. 10 minute drive away. There are also many other wonderful beaches along the coastal road, all worth exploring.

Travel:

Malaga Airport is 60 kilometres away on a direct motorway link, approx. 45 mins drive. Local & regional public transport is reliable and cheap. Car hire is advisable for more independent travel/exploration of the wider Andalusia area.

Distances:

2 Minute walk to the historic village for grocery and craft shops, bank, chemist, post office, gym, outdoor swimming pool and a wonderful choice of restaurants and bars. There are four large supermarkets in Nerja, and a Lidl is about 5 mins drive away.

Further Details:

The village is surrounded by a beautiful, protected National Park and is very popular with walkers from across Europe.

10 minute drive to Nerja for beaches and supermarket shopping.

Guests pay a 25% deposit and submit a booking form. Final balance is due plus a refundable security deposit of £100 no later than 6 weeks before travel date.

  • Notes on accommodation: The apartment is well equipped for self catering, with a new kitchen and plenty of cooking utensils and equipment. There is a clothes airer with pegs available and we also have ceiling fans in each bedroom. The TV picks up the main UK terrestrial TV channels, we have a DVD player, and Wifi is available for £15 per week, payable in advance. Parking on street at front of property. There is a local community pool about 10 minutes walk away. We have good contact with our local caretaker. Outside: Spacious terrace with patio dining table and 6 chairs, cantilever parasol, BBQ, coffee table and chairs for outside living, portable sun chairs.
