Apartment in Samoens, Haute Savoie, Rhone-Alpes, France - Beautiful Location On Edge Of Village and 200m to Ski Bus Sto

2 bedroom, 2 en-suite bathroom ground floor apartment with WiFi in a new (2014) chalet of 9 apartments. The apartment has a private garden (south facing) with decked terrace. The ski bus stop is very close (about 200m) and it takes about 2 minutes to drive to the Grand Massif Express lift. Bedroom 1 has a king size bed with en-suite shower room. The second bedroom, also with en-suite, has two single beds with a pull-out bed under. The lounge/diner/kitchen is open plan and has a good quality sofa bed that can accommodate a further 2 people. There is dining space for up to 7 people. The apartment benefits from private parking and there is a lockable ski storage room near the entrance. Cot (with linen) and high chair available. The apartment is located in a very pretty area about 500 metres walk from the village centre. A large Carrefour supermarket is very close - less than 1 minute to drive. Samoens is a charming, traditional village linked to the Grand Massif ski area with 265km of slopes and varied ski-ing, ranked by many as excellent for beginners and Intermediates. It is an ideal base for both ski-ing and summer activities including ice skating, walking/hiking, cycling, rafting, parapenting, horse riding, swimming, tennis and more. Within 500m of the apartment there is a park with an outdoor swimming complex including various pools, slides, football area and tennis courts. There are good cycling tracks nearby. The fantastic new ice rink in town hosts ice hockey matches in winter. Look for the Daily Telegraph article on the internet where the journalist suggested Samoens was the best ski resort in France.

Why Peter Thompson chose Samoëns

We always hoped for a pied-à-terre in France at some stage and we settled on Samoens. It wasn't a difficult choice. Friends had both skied and Summer holidayed there and told us how charming and family-friendly they found it. Some internet research quickly confirmed this to be the case. Look for the Daily Telegraph article on Samoens in which the reporter suggested it's the best Ski location in France. It's such a good combination of charming, traditional village, excellent ski-ing and a true Summer holiday location - and all within a 1 hour drive of Geneva airport, so week-ends are do'able also.

What makes this apartment unique

We would say this, wouldn't we, but we think ours is the best location in Samoens. The apartment is in a pretty hamlet called La Berouze but just 5 minutes walk from the centre of the village. The swimming pools and tennis etc are also just 5 minutes walk and the excellent Carrefour supermarket is very close. It's just 200m to the ski bus-stop (first on here, so always room) and 2 minutes drive to the ski-lift if you prefer to take the car. With ski-ing, walking, cycling, rafting and more all available, Samoens is an ideal location.

Notes on accommodation: This is a new (December 2014) apartment in a pretty location on the edge of Samoens but just 5 minutes walk to the centre. Ski bus stop 200m. A welcome pack will be provided within the rental price including those essentials that help with your holiday, e.g. dishwasher tablets, washing liquid and a welcome treat after your drive! Outside: There is a private garden and decked terrace - south facing, with table and 6 outdoor chairs. Perfect for an apres-ski drink or soaking up the sun! Lovely clean apartment wibeautiful resort

We stayed over half term. The whole family loved his apartment. It is well located just a 5 minute walk into centre. 2 minutes by car to large Carrefour supermarket. Beautifully furnished and clean. All mod cons as well as extra touches (kids enjoyed Platstation). Very friendly and informative hosts which made organising the holiday very easy from start to finish. Samoens is a traditional ski resort with great restaurants and shops. We had a great week skiing in Samoens, Flaine, Les Carroz and Morillon with the Grand Massif pass. We would recommend this apartment and resort in a heartbeat.

A lovely apartment for a stay at Christmas

A lovely apartment for our Christmas stay. The apartment is virtually brand new and had everything we needed. There is a large outside decked area which we managed to enjoy on a couple of occasions in the warm winter sun. The village of Samoen was just 5 minute walk away and definitely the prettiest village in the area. Over Christmas you could come down off the slopes leave your skiis & boots at Extreme Gliss and walk back through the village sampling the Vin Chaud and Nutella Crepes at the Christmas Market stalls. There were number of very good delicatessens and patisseries too, we certainly ate well!

I would highly recommend this apartment for any time of the year. there is so much to do in the area and the local people were particularly friendly and welcomingl.

Lovely apartment

Just returned from a lovely week at this well equipped apartment. Very conveniently situated in a quiet area 5-10 minute walk into Samoens. Everything you could need for a relaxed skiing holiday! I would definitely recommend

Excellent find

Very impressed with the apartment, easy to find. The apartment was spotless and just as the pictures show. Thank you for this lovely apartment. Wonderful just to be sat outside on the terrace in the summer. We stayed with two 16 year olds and had plenty of room and we only a 5 to 10 minute walk into the centre. The swimming pool is around the same. Definitely recommend to friends and family.

Perfect Apartment

We made a late booking chasing the good snow and found this gem of an apartment just at the edge of Samoens. We organised transfer from Geneva airport to avoid the hassle of a car and found the position of the apartment really good with an easy, flat, walk into the village which was max 10 minutes away.

For skiing we got the shuttle bus to the Grand Massive lift (the bus stop really is only 3 mins away) where we hired skis and therefore were able to leave skis and boots overnight for convenience and avoiding carrying. There is a bit of a queue at the base lift first thing in the morning but that doesn't take long to work through.

The apartment itself was modern, light, warm, very well kitted out and perfect for 2 couples or a family. Access was easy, security good and really had absolutely everything - the 2 bathrooms a great bonus. We used the pre cooked meal delivery service one night (just heat up) which which was good value and quality. Nearby range of restaurants were good and really enough for anyone's taste. The owner provided comprehensive information about the apartment, the village and skiing.

We would certainly visit again.

Geneva airport is about 1 hour making Samoens a great base for both week and week-end ski trips. Transfer companies can be found on the internet. A TGV train service runs to Cluses (about 20 minutes by car).

Further Details:

There is a good selection of restaurants, bars and shops in Samoens including banks. As well as the Carrefour supermarket close to the Apartment, there is a Lidl in Cluses and a Super-U in Taninges.
