Apartment in Morzine, Haute Savoie, Rhone-Alpes, France - Great Location For Town Centre And Ski Lifts, Top Floor With Large Balcony And Excellent Views

A charming one bedroom self-catering apartment for up to 4 people, furnished with comfortable new beds, and lovely soft furnishings, together with comfortable sofa bed and armchair.

It is situated on the top (second) floor of an attractive chalet style building of only six apartments, with parking and free WiFi with fast internet access. There is a large wrap around South and East facing balcony which gets the morning and afternoon sun and from which are stunning views of the valley.

It is only a short walk into Morzine town centre with its great shops, bars and restaurants, and around 6 to 7 minutes to the Pleney and Super Morzine ski lifts - with ski boots on! The nearest supermarket is conveniently located at the bottom of the road.

The bedroom has large comfortable pocket-sprung beds which can be configured as two (3') singles or as a superking double (6') with access to its own balcony which catches the afternoon sun. The living area is dual aspect allowing plenty of light into the apartment and has high ceilings and beams.

It is possible to ski back to within 100m of the chalet, conditions permitting.

About the Owner

The apartment is owned by Tony and Mark. As brothers we were lucky enough to live in the South of France for a few years when we were children. At that time we developed a passion for skiing. We recently had the opportunity to acquire our own place for ourselves and our families. Having been on many a ski trip ourselves, we realise the importance of having somewhere comfortable to relax in the evenings and get a good night’s sleep. It is with this in mind that we have furnished the apartment. We think it is a great apartment in a great location and we hope you will enjoy it.

"It is a great apartment. Even when there were 3 of us in it it didn't seem crowded. The beds and bedding are really comfortable. The sofa bed was really easy to make up and the topper was great. Perfect

The location is ideal. A few minutes walk to the Pleney lifts, to the centre of town and to the nearest supermarket. Only about 5 minutes to the Super Morzine lift and the Sports Centre with stunning views from the balcony across the town and of the surrounding hills. The property has the feel of caring owners who have considered what they would want during a stay and have then provided it. Lots of pegs, shelves and wardrobe space and a real first for the three of us to find more hangers than we needed. Comfortable beds, good quality bedding and linen and soft towels. The kitchen area was well fitted out, and anything not provided was only because people wouldn't need it. Also plenty of light fittings so really good to be able to read at night without peering into a gloom. We made full use of the multi pass which was a real bonus and all in all this was a wonderful holiday. As perfect as it was for the summer this location must be amazing for skiing trips. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to return.

Great Morzine apartment

We are a couple who rented the apartment for a week at the end of June. The apartment was exactly how it appeared in the photos, certainly more spacious than we expected with more than enough room for 2. The apartment was very clean, very well equipped for self-catering, and nice to dine on the wrap-round balcony. The location, in our opinion was perfect, just outside the bustle of the centre but just a short walk from bars, restaurants and shops. The information booklet in the apartment also gave some good pointers for restaurants and bars. In all we had a great week and would highly recommend the apartment to anyone wanting a break in Morzine. Finally, the apartment is easy to find and if you are driving, there is plenty of private residents' parking, and the multi pass is excellent value, it's the best value for lift passes that we have found in the Alps so far.

Sweet cosy little flat

You can tell the owners use this flat themselves, because it's incredibly well-equipped, has masses of hooks, shelves and storage, and everything's been done to make it comfortable. It's quite small - fine for two but I wouldn't have liked there to be 4 of us, but I'm old and picky, when I was younger I'd've found it fine for 4.

At first the wifi was very slow - we emailed the owners about it they replied very promptly, within a couple of hours. We switched it off and on again, then wifi was strong.

The flat's in a good location and has a great mountain view. And inside, it has a lovely atmosphere and nice furnishings. I highly recommend it and would definitely stay there again.

Clean, comfortable, great location and lovely view

Morzine is a great place to holiday. Lots of great outdoor activities and lovely lakes to swim in near by. The apartment was immaculately clean with nice alpine furnishings. We were very comfortable and felt very at home. It has a "cared for" feel about it. It is very central to the town, about 2 minutes walk and has lovely views from the main windows. We had a great holiday.

Lovely, comfortable appartment

Lovely apartment, really well equipped kitchen with everything you may need. Very comfy bed and sofa, a nice change from the usual french bunk bed/sofa bed set up. Nice big balcony for those sunnier days.

Nice convient location, just 5 mins walk from the town centre for all of the restaurants and bars. With ski boots on it is just under 10 mins to the main lifts. Although there are secure ski lockers in the apartment block we choose to pay for a locker at the Pleney lift station just to make the walk a bit easier (I am never a fan of walking in ski boots!), plus it meant the apres ski drinks a lot more comfortable and made for a safer walk home! Over all a great apartment for a couple and which could easily accommodate a family/group of four.

Very Comfortable Apartment

I stayed here at the end of January with two friends. We took a minibus transfer from the airport using a company recommended by the owners. It was a very smooth journey and once you are at the apartment there really is no need for a car as everything is close by.

The apartment is very comfortable, with lots of hooks and storage for hats, gloves etc.. Also there are some nice touches that take this above the average ski apartment, such as cushions and throws. I particularly liked waking up in the morning and looking out at the view of the mountains with the sun coming up, which was truly stunning.

The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and we ate in a couple of nights. The rest of the time we strolled into the town to sample the delights of the local restaurants, which served up good quality food in a buzzy atmosphere.

The bathroom was a good size and the shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. The bath was also very welcome to soak the muscles after a hard days skiing.

A great apartment and I will definitely be returning in 2016.

Morzine is in a simply beautiful valley, with lots going on both summer and winter, friendly people and great restaurants. It is also easily accessible by car, plane or train.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Lake Geneva is 30 minutes away, Thonon and Evian are charming Spa towns on the lakeside.

Travel:

Morzine is easily accessible from Geneva airport which is just over an hour away by road. There are regular shuttle bus services available. The central location means that a car is not essential as all amenities are within short walking distance.

It is about an 8.5 hour drive from Calais, motorway virtually all the way.

Further Details:

Morzine is open all the year round and offers an incredible range of activities. It is situated in a beautiful valley comprising a number of smaller villages. The people are extremely friendly. It comes alive in the winter and summer months with plenty of nice shops, restaurants, bars, and ski and snowboard shops, banks, medical centre, supermarkets and specialist shops selling local cheeses and meats and other local craft shops.

Summer activities include, mountain biking (which is now hugely popular), hiking, white water rafting, paragliding, canyoning, mountain climbing and Via Ferrata, horse riding and other activities.

There is also a fabulous swimming pool complex with both indoor and outdoor (50m) pools in the heart of the town alongside which are numerous tennis courts.

There are also indoor and outdoor ice rinks.

Changeover Day:

25% deposit payable on booking, with the balance payable 2 months before the date of your stay. At the same time we also take a security deposit of £300, returnable as soon as our resort manager has confirmed that the apartment is left in good order and that no additional cleaning is required.

There is a good size balcony with table and four chairs to relax and soak up the views. Ski locker on ground floor.
