About the Owner

Born and bred in Winterton in Norfolk, my family has lived here for generations. We now live about 15 minutes away from Winterton, but visit three or four times every week to walk our dogs on the beach, or to visit the pub or Dunes cafe.

I have been managing holiday cottages in the village since 2010, and am proud that all of the cottages I look after have very high standards. I love dealing with guests to ensure that the cottage they choose is right for their holiday, so please get in touch via the contact form or call with anything you would like to know about the cottages or the area.

In addition to the Winterton Cottages, I also manage a friend's property in Trevone, Cornwall.

Fabulous cottage!!

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was spotlessly clean with everything one could need. A 100 yds from the sand dunes were the dogs could run free and then onto the beach. The Dunes Cafe serves lovely breakfasts and homemade cakes. The village and its residents are friendly and make one very welcome. Only a few miles to the Norfolk Broads and lots of lovely beaches along the coast.

exactly as it is in the pictures

Small but perfectly formed it is a lovely cottage tastefully and well fitted, only a minute from the dunes and a ten minute stroll to the beach. Spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Convenient for the local shop and chip shop. Very convenient parking. I would have appreciated a couple more towels as one very small hand towel and bath towel a little mean for a week and the complete lack of mobile phone signal was inconvenient as there was no landline. Yes would recommend it to a friend and relatives - and have.

Couldn't have been better

  • 5 of 5

As a party of two adults, a 20 month old and a Labrador we couldn't have been more welcomed at Stones Throw. The cottage was really well equipped and had a lovely comfy cosy feel to relax in after spending your days roaming the beaches. The garden was a fantastic suntrap for our little boy and the dog to enjoy and nicely enclosed so we didn't need to worry. The location is superb as you only have to wander out and behind the cottage and you are on to the sand dunes and the beautiful beach which is dog friendly all year. The village has a fab pub where we ate at twice and there is a beach café which serves great crab sandwiches, breakfasts and drinks and cakes, both places more than happy to cater for children and dogs ! Its well worth making your way along the coast to Horsey to visit the seal colony on the beach and walking inland to The Nelson Head for a spot of lunch, great burgers. The village also has a fish and chip shop which we enjoyed our tea from and a village store for any essentials, you really don't need to get in your car. We cannot fault Stones Throw or Winterton On Sea as a holiday destination, the only downside for us was having to leave ! A perfect beachside family holiday, we look forward to returning.

Perfect cosy cottage

  • 5 of 5

This cottage has everything you could possibly need, very comfortable and cosy and decorated to a very high standard.

The location is amazing with just a short 2 minute walk to the sand dunes leading to the beach, or to the nearest pub and convenience store.

Its a very peaceful and relaxing place to go and we will definitely be returning again, Our dog thought it was his best holiday ever :)

Thank you

Great Couple of Days

Lovely relaxing and cosy cottage. Great get away from it feel. Very close to dunes and beach so perfect for dog walkers.

Cottage is well equipped and decorated, feeling homely and inviting.

Nice pub about 5 minutes away and Dunes Café, selling yummy cakes and hot chocolate :-)

Take a walk along to Horsey too and see the seals.

Great weekend away - would recommend it

From the Owner

The owners of Stone's Throw Cottage have family connections to Winterton, and bought the property in 2013. They have renovated and modernised it whilst retaining the old character. The location of the cottage in the village is ideal, just steps from the Dunes leading to the beach. One of the main attractions of the cottage is that it’s walking distance from everything in the village including the local pub, shop, and Dunes café. Winterton village has lots of charm, and is ideal for exploring our part of Norfolk with long sandy beaches.
