Christmas visit to The Gatehouse

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time at The Gatehouse - despite all of us falling ill ! It was comfortable and warm and was a real home from home ! We loved the grounds and the total ambience and Lesley' s little touches of kindness- a little Christmas tree and well stocked coffee tea and sugar and milk in the fridge . We loved the area and the walks for our dog . Above all we loved Lesley's humour - she had us all in stitches most of the time - we could not have asked for a more genuine host . We felt very relaxed on our first Christmas ever away from home ! Thankyou a million times Lesley we hope to be back soon - perhaps even next Christmas !? Lots of love Lesley Mick Kathryn Dave and Rick xxxx

Owner's Response: And how lucky was I?! Just the best, most friendly family that I could have wished for over the Christmas holiday. By the time you left, I felt I had made new friends and was sad when you went. I too felt completely relaxed in your company, which I enjoyed immensely. Not something I take for granted with the rental business. Really considerate guests who left the Gatehouse immaculately clean and tidy. Please come back any time and we would love to have you stay over Christmas again.

Quiet and cosy in Surrey!

  • 5 of 5

The property was tidy, well organised and sparklingly clean.

Lesley couldn't have been more welcoming and accommodating to these guests - who needed to change their schedule at the last minute!

The property was well equipped with all mod cons. The Wifi was the best we have seen at any BnB yet. Very very fast and usable from every room!

Our stay was at the end of a long family holiday thru Europe and the UK and this place was perfect for us to unwind and relax before our long trip back to Australia.

Thanks again, Lesley. Hopefully we will return in a few years!

Owner's Response: Fabulous, fabulous guests from Australia! Kind, considerate and more than helpful, sorting out a long-standing problem I had had on my property. I was really sad to see such a lovely family go and am grateful that they chose to stay with us ready for their return home from nearby Heathrow. I do hope I have the opportunity to welcome you all back.

Fantastic property to use as a base to explore

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 3 nights with our dog Eddie while attending Dogfest in the nearby Windsor Great Park & weren't disappointed. The property is well maintained with secure parking in a lovely quiet area yet near enough to interesting places to visit as well as London. The owner is friendly & helpful & everything you need is supplied, even things that do not usually come included in a holiday rental such as kitchen roll, cooking oil, tea, coffee, sugar & even a fresh pint of milk in the fridge. So glad they accept dogs as it was perfect for us & the owners even let you walk the dog in their grounds so early morning/late night walkies are no hassle. We would highly recommend this property for anyone wanting to stay in the area.

Owner's Response: It was a pleasure to have both of you stay with us, and, of course, the divine Eddie. We are pleased that our facilities met with your approval and that Eddie enjoyed himself. We hope to see you again in the future. Perfect guests!

Short 2couple stay

  • 5 of 5

Very enjoyable 3night stay in this well managed , clean , modern , comfortable gatehouse. Excellent location and entertaining owners and "pet" chickens. Stairs could be a problem for bad knee travelers but is not a issue for active elderly. Good Italian Tratoria nearby and very quiet location and private safe parking. All in all an excellent choice in all respects. Thanks , Lesley for a great stay.

Just returned from a lovely weekend staying in this cosy, quirky cottage; stunning location, quiet but only minutes from the tourist locations. Lesley the owner was very welcoming and the new laid eggs a treat! Thanks once again.
