Lochranza is an ideal base for hillwalking and in my opinion this has one of the best views in Lochranza I never tire of standing at the window watching the ferry, yachts come and go and views to the other side of the loch.

About Karen Haggarty

I have lived on Arran for most of my 56 years and love island life

Hobbies include sailing around the west coast of Scotland and abroad with friends when we can manage to get away from work !

I used to play golf,and with the island's 7 golf courses really have no excuse. I enjoy reading,listening to music, most sport on TV and socialising with friends.

I also love cooking at home for family and friends.

I am enjoying the new challenge of holiday letting.

Why Karen Haggarty chose Ayrshire & Arran

Westwood was built circa 1913 and has a beautiful outlook, my parents bought it after selling the Rock Hotel in Blackwaterfoot and they ran it as a B&B. They were very happy in the house and loved it from the moment they moved up.

What makes this house unique

Westwood is 30 minutes by car from the Brodick ferry terminal and next to Lochranza pier if arriving from Argyll.

I have spent hours and hours watching out of the lounge bay window at the yachts coming and going, the ferry travelling backwards and forwards and at certain times of the year the Waverley Paddle Steamer arrives at the pier head
