Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed here several times in summer and once in the winter and it’s been a perfect holiday every time. The house is beautifully and comfortably done up and is enhanced by the stunning views in every direction. The outside is wonderful too and it’s brilliant for children and adults alike.

Very well presented holiday property in a pleasant, peaceful location in the centre of the Dordogne but with excellent access to local towns, vineyards and Bergerac airport.

A wonderful location & house for family or friends

  • 5 of 5

What an incredible location and house. We loved wandering around the smaller quiet roads, seeing the farmers working in the fields or looking for wildlife. Jamie and Amy were great at answering our the questions on the house & grounds and also on the local area which made the booking process very easy.

The kitchen is a great size, really nicely and thoughtfully finished, with everything you could ever want and perfect to do lots of food preparation and cooking (and the large fridge freezer with ice maker is amazing in hot weather). We bought some ready-made food from Karen and the portions were generous and the food delicious. Like the kitchen the thoughtfulness and vision that has gone into the lounge has created a relaxing ambience which is great for reading a book or with everyone on the sofas chatting. But also one that we could let our two year old run around and play without us worrying he was going to break anything or hurt himself. There are loads of kids toys for all ages, with the wooden fort being a particular favourite. The WIFI was absolutely fine for our needs with 4 people and 6 devices logged in for browsing. The bedrooms were all nicely furnished with lots of natural light through the roof windows and had everything we needed. The beds were also very comfortable. The ensuites and bathroom were all nicely appointed and had lots of nice soap and shower gel etc. There were also fans which we used to cool the toddlers room in the evening of the warmest day.

The garden was a big draw for us particularly the large patio area adjacent to the house with lots of comfortable furniture. We spent every evening watching the sun go down on the terrace and then looking up stargazing. The heated swimming pool is a nice size, large enough to swim a few lengths with lots of inflatables and other games and things to play in the pool for both children and adults. We loved the herb garden (great on the large gas BBQ) and kids play house which our little boy loved.

We liked going to the boulangerie at Verteilac for our bread and a coffee on some mornings and we would recommend Aubeterre, La Jemaye (take a picnic)and Brantome in particular. And for eating out we loved the Restaurant des tourbieres with otters swimming past you in the network of small rivers whilst you eat fabulous duck confit. Very rustic but great food! We also enjoyed the bar in the village for a short walk and a drink or for a simple evening meal. As you can see… we loved it

great extended family week

  • 5 of 5

Having just read all the reviews I am not sure I can add anything - except to say we were so glad we found Lusignac as a place for our extended family holiday - 8 adults and 5 children under 4. The house lent itself beautifully - we wish we could have been there longer.

Great family house in picturesque village

  • 5 of 5

We spent a fantastic week with our family of 6 adults and

5 children in this ideal house. The tranquil scenery and country walks were just what we were after, and the great pool proved a hit with the children and adults alike.

We have made several trips to this area but this was the best yet.

Will make you fall in love with the Dordogne

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to The Dordogne as well usually go to Provence. I feel we may have switched allegiance. It is quieter, less expensive and rather closer to home. And the weather was every bit as good for the week we were there. We have booked it again for 2017 and are rather looking forward to it already.
