Cottage in Bramshaw,New Forest, with fabulous games room - Feel Close To Nature And Away From It All Yet Only A few Minutes Walk To The Village Shop And 3 Pub

15% discount February weekends!

2 or 3 night stay was £885 NOW £750!!

An ideal cottage for large groups or families holidaying together with Direct Forest Access. Set in a truly stunning location surrounded by the beautiful New Forest, ponies, cows, deer and pigs will be your only visitors! Although this is a get away from it all holiday you are only a 15 minute stroll to the village store and 25 minute walk from 3 great Forest pubs. Lyndhurst is 10 minutes drive and the nearest beach is 30 minutes.

Perfect for cycling on the 200km of New Forest cycle tracks the cottage has a secure store for up to 8 bikes. Bramshaw also hosts 2 golf courses for those looking for some quality time on the green together.

For those looking for a simpler pursuit why not explore the Forest on foot directly from the cottage door! Meander through Bramshaw woods discovering the mystery of the ancient woodland while traversing streams and ancient waterways. This side of the Forest is quieter than some other parts so lots of areas to explore and adventures to be had. That being said it won't be long before you stumble across a good Forest pub for lunch!

The fabulous games room in the garden provides the perfect opportunity to just stay in. No need to spend money and no need to worry about the weather! Why not challenge the children to a game of pool or team up with grandma for a game of table tennis? Maybe this becomes the boys domain while the girls enjoy a glass of wine watching the deer and ponies from the conservatory?

Although the Forester Lodge retains many original features it has been modernised to an exacting standard and contains luxury fittings throughout.

With all of the accommodation, except the twin bedroom, on the ground floor The Foresters Lodge is ideal for those not wanting to be challenged by stairs on holiday. The soft pallet of colours promote the natural surrounding and this together with the light and airy feel make you instantly relax and feel at home.

Individually designed, the rooms all have their own character. The relaxed 'blue' master bedroom entices you in making you want to throw open the French doors onto the garden and let the outside in! The heavenly 'lilac' room invites you to snuggle up on the window seat with a book and watch the wildlife go by(this room can be configured as a 5ft double or 2 singles). The serene feel of the green room and fabulous Forest view makes you want to leave the curtains open all night watching the Forest go by. Whereas the fun 'red' room up stairs feels like you have just stepped into a 'gingerbread house' - great fun for the children, plus stargazing through the skylight!

The Foresters Lodge has a resident large herd of deer that pass by the cottage at dawn and dusk. The conservatory is the perfect place to relax with a cuppa while wildlife spotting - whatever the weather!

The lounge is cool in summer with its high vaulted ceiling and cosy in winter around the log burner - especially welcome after a nice long walk in the Forest on a winters day.

Dining is made easy with a breakfast bar seating 4 over-looking the Forest and adjoining table for 8. Lots of space for a relaxed evening get-together or Sunday roast lunch.

Don't forget the fabulous family bathroom with supersized Jacuzzi bath - space for 2! Drencher shower and twin basins. The perfect place to scrub up after a muddy walk or relax tired muscles after a busy day of Forest pursuits!

About the Owner

We love our holidays as this is when we manage to spend quality time together, having fun and building happy memories. It therefore seemed sensible for us to buy a holiday home as over the years we believe we have learnt what is needed for a great holiday.

We have travelled the world, but love returning to the beautiful New Forest. We moved to Ashurst in 2000 and have enjoyed exploring the ancient woodlands, local villages and attractions with our 3 boys.

We work in the New Forest and enjoy regularly walking and cycling around the Forest enclosures. Our sons have been brought up close to nature learning about the seasons while hiking through the Forest looking for fungi, climbing trees with friends, building dens and starting their own adventure with the great outdoors.

We have all had a most comfortable, happy experience living in such awe-inspiring surroundings - flora and fauna. Games room well used and garden much admired. I have had a week of celebrations to mark my 80th birthday. I thank you for providing our welcome on arrival. It has been such a peaceful stay. March 2014

Beautiful cottage in a stunning location the girls loved the Jacuzzi bath and the games room. We were lucky enough to see deer, ponies and donkeys which was a real bonus. We thoroughly enjoyed biking in the Forest, Marwell zoo and of course Peppa Pig World for our 3 year old! Thank you. May 2014

We have had an amazing time in the New Forest. The Foresters Lodge has been the perfect location. We have loved having the Forest on our doorstep and spotting all the wildlife. The cottage is perfect for our family members of all ages - the games room has been excellent fun! Wish we could stay longer! August 2014

Stunning

Our second stay at Foresters Lodge and had yet another amazing weekend. Donna was very welcoming as always and the cottage was as beautiful and homely as we remembered. Wonderful location, nestled amongst the wildlife and forest. Couldn't recommend this gorgeous cottage highly enough! We will no doubt be back again.

Beautiful home in the perfect rural setting, exact

  • 5 of 5

We have been to the new forest many times and stayed in many nice properties but we certainly hit the jackpot this time around.

Direct forest access in the perfect rural setting, the conservatory provides a great place to relax after long forest walks and watch the Deers, Horses, Cows & Pigs relaxing & enjoying their freedom.

The games room is great for the kids & adults alike. The rest of the house is full of charm & history & all very well presented and equipped. Donna the owner was there to greet us with a home made cake and to show us around and settle us in. We all loved our break here and the only bad bit was leaving.

We would be thoroughly recommend this holiday home.

A lovely, comfortable home from home.

  • 5 of 5

We found the house well-equipped for catering for our large family, comfortable rooms which were warm given the autumnal chill and touches of luxury - great jacuzzi bath! Directions to the house were excellent and we were met promptly by Donna whose instructions were thorough and helpful, plus the lovely welcoming cake. There was plenty of useful local information in the folder and we loved exploring the local forest, up round Bramble Hill, as well as venturing further afield. The games room great for the older children amongst us! Would love to come again.

Full of character and charm, a stunning lodge

  • 5 of 5

A group of 7 ladies stayed at Foresters Lodge for a long weekend to celebrate my up & coming wedding.

Being the person who booked it, the feeling of apprehension that the chosen, away from it all accommodation would live up to everyone’s expectations soon melted away as we approached the Lodge, it was so pretty & and had so much presence, a beautiful location with a pretty garden, it was a warm, clean & welcoming Lodge

Spoilt for choice for places to sit and unwind, from the seating in the garden and just outside the front door to the conservatory, lounge and kitchen. The breakfast bar was favourite in the morning as we chatted over tea & coffee, glancing out of the kitchen window often spotting deer, ponies, squirrels, birds, some retired to finish their coffee in the conservatory to watch the day wakeup, we used the lounge and treated ourselves to a cosy fire on the Saturday evening. The breakfast bar came into its own again in the evening as we sipped our favourite tipple.

All the rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable.

It is by no means a negative comment but we personally felt that the twin room in the attic is more suited to younger members of a family group, or those who don’t have to get up in the night to visit the bathroom due to negotiating fairly steep stairs in a sleepy state.

We visited The Lamb at Nomansland for an evening meal, The Green Dragon for a lunch time sandwich and The Royal Oak at Fritham, twice, for lunch, so suffice to say The Royal Oak was our favourite, we loved the rustic ploughman’s lunches.

Donna was amazingly helpful and informative, from my initial enquiry, leading up to our stay, and welcoming us at the Lodge in person to returning the security deposit within hours of checking out, not to mention the homemade cake, thank you Donna.

Little cottage in the woods

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay at the Foresters Lodge. There were 8 adults and there was lots of room for everyone. The property was well maintained and we had no problems meeting with and communicating with the owner. Backs on to the forest for lots of lovely walks.

Wonderful cottage we didn't want to leave!

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is so special and even more impressive than the website! The location is perfect and we passed (and had to wait for) ponies, cows and pigs on the road to the cottage! When we arrived at the cottage we saw a herd of deer in the trees just next to the garden! It is a truly 'get away from it all' retreat.

The cottage is beatifully refurbished and has everything you need for a multi-generation holiday. We were able to unwind straight away. It is a real home from home and clean and well maintained. The garden was beautiful and the surroundings just out of this world. It really is in the middle of the forest!

The local shop had most things and the nearby farm sold eggs and bbq packs. We ate out at the Green Dragon pub and the Bell Inn both of which we would recommend.

This cottage is a perfect place to unwind and get the family together. The games room was a real bonus and kept the younger members busy and entertained the rest!

We enjoyed days out to Lepe beach, Longdown Activity Farm and the younger members enjoyed cycling - the bike shed was useful to store the bikes.

We really appreciated the useful information sent before hand and on arrival, plus the tasty cake that Donna left for us.

The whole experience from initial enquiry to return of the security deposit was easy, friendly and professional. We would definitely recommend this cottage and hope to return very soon! Thank you

Location

From the Owner

We bought The Foresters Lodge in 2011 after the whole family fell in love with the idyllic location and character cottage. Our intention was to use it as a holiday home and eventually to retire to this serene place that is so close to nature. The attraction to our boys aged 12, 10 and 8 at the time, was the adventure of the Forest, rope swings, streams and building dens! To Ramsey and Donna being at The Foresters Lodge really feels like you are away from it all, yet you are only a few minutes’ walk from the village shop. We didn’t think such a property existed in the busy South of England. We set about fully renovating and extending the property. Today the many character features have been retained yet the property is light and airy with luxury fittings and comforts throughout.

Facilities

From the Owner

We continue to enjoy weekends at The Foresters Lodge with family and friends. The games room is still the big attraction, especially to teenage friends and this summer saw us enjoying BBQs, with the boys and their friends staying up late into the night stargazing and listening to the sounds of the Forest night whilst toasting marshmallows. We find The Foresters Lodge simply a great place to unwind and spend quality time together. If you want the hubbub of the beaches and villages of the New Forest then they are on your doorstep, if not you have all you need for a great week away spending time together and getting close to nature at The Foresters Lodge. We hope you enjoy your time here as much as we do.
