Les Clarines is a lovely ski-in/out apartment with superb views north to Mont Blanc and south over the piste and down the valley. It can readily sleep four adults and is just minutes walk from shops, bars and restaurants.

The apartment has a double bedroom, an excellent double sofa-bed in the lounge, a spacious kitchen/dining area, bathroom and separate toilet with ski locker in the basement which has direct access to the La Forêt piste. It is 33 sq m and finished to a high standard with many designer features including a bespoke dining table with corner seating and an excellently equipped kitchen. The open plan living area is equipped with LCD TV and internet. From the lounge there are large doors leading onto a good size south facing balcony with far reaching views of the piste and the mountains.

Vallandry is an attractive village built in the traditional Savoyard style, has an authentic mountain atmosphere and is in the middle of the gigantic Paradiski (La Plagne, Les Arcs and Peisy-Vallandry) ski areas. It is minutes from the Vanoise Express which offers direct access to the La Plagne ski area.

Whilst there is no dedicated parking space, there is a surface car park immediately outside the block but the preferred parking is under cover public parking in the adjacent MGM building.

Great half-term stay in Vallandry

Lovely little one-bed apartment above Vallandry. The rooms are comfortably big enough to cope with a couple of adults (in the double bedroom) and 2 kids in the fold out sofa bed in the living room. Nice big flat screen TV but nothing non-french on the channels available and no DVD player supplied (you might want to think about bringing a travel one or a Chromecast and a bunch of movies on your laptop)

There's a lovely little corner (Place des Amoreux) for eating around a small table which was perfectly adequate - in fact we had family friends we were holidaying with over for dinner and didn't struggle.

Ski room in basement has plenty room for all your gear and there's clear signage throughout the complex not to stump up to your property in ski boots.

Couple of tips: The apartment is a 400m clamber back up some steep paths from the village so if you forget anything you are back in the car or doing the walk. We would make a stop in the big Carrefour on the way up to fill up with shopping. Lastly there's good parking spaces infront of the door to the Clarines but if you have a 4x4 or estate I would *not* recommend trying to park in the public parking beneath Oree des Neiges...very tight.

All in all a fab holiday made by the location of the apartment (right on the La Forêt piste) and great snow conditions.

Compact but perfect for a couple.

Lovely clean apartment with all the facilities one could require. 5- 10 mins walk (short bit quite steep) from the shops in centre of Vallandry. Very efficient owner with perfect directions and helpful hints. Extremely convenient for the slopes and a real ski in / ski out location. Very enjoyable. Thank you.

Fabulous Apartment

Les Clarines is undeniably one of the prime locations in Valladry. The views over the pistes down to both Grizzly & Vallandry lifts are superb. You can watch the Vanoise Express on its way, as well as enjoy the spectacular mountain scenery across the valley. ‘Ski in, ski-out’ is an often used term, but in this case absolutely accurate. Open the door from the ski locker room and you are within feet (probably about four) of the piste. Within the locker room are ski lockers which cater for even the most well-equipped skier or boarder (or walker). Plenty of room for multiple pairs of skis, with shelf above to accommodate indoor shoes, ski bags etc.

The apartment itself is very well laid out with separate bedroom, double bed, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The lounge area has a fold down double sofa-bed (which is incredibly easy and quick to convert—and very comfortable), masses of storage space, large TV and comfortable dining area. Internet access is available. Bathroom contains bath with shower, heated towel rail and wash basin. The kitchen area is well equipped with hob, combi oven, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, china, cutlery etc. Everything you could possibly want.

The owners are extremely helpful and friendly. We stayed in January and although unseasonably warm for much of the time, the apartment was always warm & cosy - even on more normal, cold days. The ease of access to the Vallandry lift meant taking ski lessons with the excellent, mostly English staffed, New Generation School was ideal - highly recommended. Very patient, flexible and professional.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and shall definitely be coming back!

Little gem in Vallandry

I had a wonderful stay in this apartment in Vallandry. The location is perfect with wonderful views overlooking the village and the valley beyond and right alongside a piste allowing ski in and ski out access. It's within easy walking distance of the village with all its facilities including restaurants, ski hire, supermarket and laundry. The apartment is clean with a great shower and the kitchen is well equipped. There's even a balcony to enjoy a drink while taking in the view. The owners are lovely people and ready and willing to help with any questions. It's a real gem and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Best ever!

We had a great week. Your apartment is so lovely - cosy and comfortable and very well equipped. The best we have rented so far. And, the location is second to none. We had fabulous weather and skied the whole of Paradiski (very achey knees now). We enjoyed a beer on the balcony watching both the sunset and the last of the skiers each evening.

Lovely mountain views from well placed apartment

High standards and every comfort are at this spacious, sunny apartment. In a quiet area by close to local restaurants and shops this is a great base to explore the region. Local restaurants offer good French cuisine and shops are well stocked for self catering. The village has a friendly family feel and is also romantic enough for couples. The owner provided excellent information and we felt very much at home in this lovely property.

Location

Having skied over many years in both Courcheval and Les Arcs we love Vallandry and are very lucky to have found this wonderful ski-in/out apartment which is in the best location we know. Whether travelling by train (Eurostar from St Pancras to Landry with an easy and picturesque drive up the mountain) road or air this is a readily accessible location. Golf, walking, water sports and fresh mountain air provide year-round interest.

Activity and Interests

Travel:

Air: Chambery, Grenoble,Lyon and Geneva Airports

Road: A43 from Chambery or Grenoble to Albertville. Then to Moutiers and RN 90 Bourg St Maurice. 7 km before Bourg Saint Maurice, turn right to Peisey-Vallandry. Go through Landry following signs to Peisey-Vallandry. On entering Vallandry, turn left in front of the Tourist Office, drive for about 1km and follow the road sign "Les Roches". We are above residence L'Oree des Neiges.

Rail: TGV station Landry - 15 km

Distances:

15km from Landry and 32 km from Bourg St Maurice

Further Details:

Vallandry centre is a few minutes walk and has a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants
