Situated in the Urbanization Buena Vista, cut into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, this exclusive well appointed 3 bedroomed house offers accommodation in a tranquil setting, yet only a short drive from the fantastic beaches and nightlife of Fuengirola and Marbella. The nearest town 10 minutes by car is Mijas which is renowned as being one of the most beautiful white villages of Spain.

My name is Mike and live with my wife Shirley in Leatherhead Surrey.

I have owned this property since 2003. I bought it in a very run down condition and over the years brought it back to life and I am delighted to say the house is now comfortably furnished and decorated to a high standard.

The house has everything you would need to enjoy a home from home experience in the mountains of Mijas where the sun shines 10 months of the year.

My wife and I together with our family and friends frequent regularly and have had some wonderful holidays.

We have a house manager who lives nearby and speaks fluent Spanish/English and is always willing to offer advice or help with the numerous places to visit in the nearby vicinity.

This house is situated in an idylic location on the edge of the mountain with spectacular views of the Mediterranean and from the front the mountain view is superb.

The property is on the gated urbanisation of Buena Vista which is five minutes in the car or a short bus ride to Mijas Pueblo or fifteen minutes to the beaches at Los Boliches.

What makes this house unique

Dona Blanca is a small group of 17 houses that shares a private tropical pool which was initially built to cater for 65 houses therefore it is set in beautiful gardens and is never overcrowded.

The property also features two terraces where you can relax in peace and quiet either in the shade or in the sun.

If you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of holiday makers but wish to be situated close to Mijas Pueblo or the beaches of Los Boliches in a peaceful tranquil setting this would be an ideal holiday location.

The taxi and bus service in the area is excellent for shopping or restaurants if you decide you do not want to drive although a car is recommended.

Mijas Pueblo, situated in the heart of the Costa del Sol lies only 20 kilometres from Malaga International Airport. It has a varied landscape that goes from the mountains all the way to the sea.

The area of Mijas is mostly mountainous with growing developments along the coast and on the gentler parts of the mountain slopes before they plung into the sea. The Pasadas and Ojen rivers cross this area, they join to form the river Fuengirola which flows into the sea almost on the limits between Fuengirola and Mijas.

The Municipality, one of the largest in the Province of Malaga, with 147 km2 is divided into three different urban areas: Mijas Pueblo, conserving the charm of a traditional Andalucian "white village", Las Lagunas on the coast (the most modern area of Mijas where you can find industrial and commercial areas) and La Cala, a small seaside village in the centre of the 12 kilometres of beaches on the Mijas coast.

Wonderful scenery in a quiet and peaceful location

we found the property a good standard and met the needs of our group, somewhat isolated and not suitable for people with mobility difficulties without transport. However there is a good bus service at minimal cost, that you can use to access all areas of the costa del sol. The pool on site was excellent. Overall we enjoyed our stay and found it most relaxing. A storage area for suitcases would have been useful but all other facilities within the home proved to be excellent.

Beautiful well equipped villa set in superb surroundings with stunning sea views.

This beautiful well equipped villa has a homely feel to it. It is set in quite location and has the benefit of a shared pool which is set in a beautiful landscaped garden. Although it is a shared pool we hardly ever saw anyone else there which made it feel like our own private space. We spent a wonderful ten days there and enjoyed every minute of it. All the bedrooms have en-suite rooms and the beds are really comfortable. It is an ideal place for recharging batteries and relaxing. Mijas is a short dive away and is well worth a visit. There are many beautiful beaches which are scattered along the coastal road and there is easy access to supermarkets. One of our party has a slight mobility problem so the steps which lead to the pool were a bit of a challenge. A basic welcome pack on arrival would have been very welcome. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend a visit to this villa and the area that is Mijas.

Beautiful house in lovely, peaceful location!

Just returned from a week at this house in Buena Vista development.

It is beautiful, just like the pictures which persuaded us to book in the first place. Clean, well maintained and it felt like we were staying in someone's well-loved home. We found the property well equipped - washing machine, dishwasher, wi-fi - even beach towels and two hair dryers. The air conditioning was welcome for those evenings when it would have been too hot to sleep otherwise. A couple of days before we left the UK to start our holiday, Mike, the owner, called to check we had all the information we needed - a nice touch - and even recommended a great taxi service (Kevin) who collected us from the airport.

There were six of us so having three bathrooms was a real luxury!

There are also two sizeable terraces - one is shaded, the other sunny. The views over the mountains and the costa are lovely - particularly in the evening when everything is lit up. Great place for a nightcap!

The pool is genuinely beautiful and a great size. We went there every morning and were usually the only family there. There is a toilet block there which is handy, particularly when you have kids, but take tissues as there isn't loo roll and the soap had seen better days. Someone came regularly to check on the water and scoop up the leaves that fell into the pool from the lush sub tropical flora. There are plenty of sunbeds and, even though there are no sun umbrellas by the pool, having well established trees mean you can always find shade.

We chose not to hire a car, so relied on taxis and the local bus service - there is a bus stop just outside the development - note that there is a steep-ish walk up to the bus stop. The bus numbers 121 and 112 will take you to Mijas one way and Benalmadena Pueblo and Arroyo de la Miel another way - you could even stay on to get to the beach at Benalmadena Costa if you wanted - about 30 minutes. The buses were regular although not always strictly following the timetable. It seems that every journey is euro 1.65 each way, wheverever you go. If you fancy an evening in Mijas there are ample taxis to bring you home if you miss the last bus, and the development is well known to taxi drivers. Journey home from Mijas cost us around ten euros.

Mijas is very pretty but for fantastic paella or gourmet tapas, try Restaurante Plaza in Plaza de Espana in Benalmadena Pueblo.

Excellent, comfortable well positioned house.

House is set in an excellent position, just off the main autovia on the road towards Mijas - a beautiful Spanish village with magnificent views.

House had all amenities, a wonderful veranda and an area for eating outside with a BBQ, which we used about 5 times.

It was quite hot when we were there, but the air conditioning was very effective.

We also enjoyed using the residents' private swimming pool, which was well maintained and quiet - and just a minute or two from the house.

Shops were only about 5 minutes away - well stocked and very convenient. Also, it was only about 15 minutes or so to the various local beaches.

We loved our holiday and will be looking to return. Can thoroughly recommend this property.

Wonderful house with sensational views and every home comfort.

The house is well equipped and extremely comfortable with sensational panoramic views from the mountains and over to the Mediterranean. We enjoyed barbecues on the patio in the early evening sunshine (it's a great suntrap) and sun-downers on the terrace as we watched the mountains turn a beautiful burgundy and the lights of Fuengirola flickering into life.

It's located in a pretty gated community that has an excellent communal swimming pool that is set amongst gorgeous gardens. Conveniently it is only a hundred metres or so away and accessed along a little path. The area is nice and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of the coast that is only a short drive away.

We can highly recommend the nearby restaurant El Higuéron with wonderful views and delicious food. Make a reservation to ensure a window table.

The only problem with our stay at this wonderful home is that we were not there longer! We will definitely be back soon.

A home from home, stunning townhouse with everything you would need and more for a wonderful holiday

Myself and my husband stayed at this property for two weeks in May. The whole process was so easy and dealing with the owner Mike was a pleasure. He could not of been more helpful and available.

Arriving at the property we were blown away, the photos were great but the house is actually stunning in reality. Set in a tranquil leafy private estate this townhouse is a must visit. The master bedroom is very big, the bed is super comfortable and the ensuite is just lovely, great shower. The decor is very tasteful and the whole house is very cool.

The kitchen is equipped with all the untensils and table/glass wear you will need for dining. Fabulous split level terrace with stylish outdoor living furniture.

We totally lucked out finding this property and will be returning next year. The pool and garden area is just so relaxing, we didn't meet anyone else there in the whole two weeks.

The owners have thought of everything and I cannot recommend this lovely townhouse enough, Go! Enjoy, relax and recharge. Best holiday ever.
