Special interest holidays:

Equestrian facilities are available on site to include a floodlit ménage. Hacking can be enjoyed in the many surrounding lanes (Please note - this facility is only available to those visitors bringing their own horse, and is by prior arrangement only)

Coast/Beach:

The south coast of Cornwall is easily accessible with the sandy beaches of Whitsand Bay being approximately 10 miles distant (20 minutes drive), and the fishing ports of Looe and Polperro within 12 and 15 miles respectively. (20 - 25 minutes drive)

Travel:

The nearest airports are Newquay, Cornwall (38 miles) and Exeter Airport (55 miles). The cross channel ferry from Plymouth to Roscoff (France) and Santander (Spain) is within 12 miles.

The use of a car for a stay at Wheel Cottage is essential.

Distances:

Village of Landrake - Less than 1 mile.

Town of Saltash - 4 miles.

City Centre of Plymouth - 12 miles.

Further Details:

Landrake village has a typical village shop complete with an off licence and post office. There is also a thriving primary school, a well supported village hall and a pub/restaurant. Landrake has a 12th century Church and a modern Methodist Chapel.

The nearest town of Saltash has a range of shops, supermarkets and banks as well as a leisure centre, football and rugby stadiums and numerous clubs and organisations.

Further afield there are a number of National Trust properties (Antony House, Cotehele, Saltram House etc), the world renowned Eden Project and the fascinating Lost Gardens of Heligan. Opportunities abound for sailing, surfing and cycling in Cornwall, and for those who enjoy walking there is the coast paths around the whole of Cornwall and the rugged landscape of Bodmin Moor complete with the famous Jamaica Inn at its heart.

  • Notes on accommodation: Bedroom - double with king size bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, chair, bedsides lights and clock/radio. Bathroom - Bath with mixer shower over, matching basin and W.C. Heated towel rail. Lounge - Two comfortable two seater settees, gas fired coal effect fire, TV with DVD player, coffee table, corner lamp. Dining area - Wooden table and chairs. Kitchen area - Fully fitted kitchen with granite work tops and full range of white goods. Outside: There is an private and enclosed garden accessed from the patio doors which lead on to the area of timber decking. Outside lighting enables the best use of the garden during the evenings. A garden table and chairs are provided as well as a disposable barbecue. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and Linen are included. The property is cleaned and the towels and linen are changed weekly if a booking is taken for longer than a period of one week, otherwise this would be done on the changeover day every week.
