Cosy stone-built cottage in peaceful countryside. Dog friendly.

Updated: 25-Nov-2016
Cottage in Sedbergh (Yorkshire Dales), Cumbria, England - Pet friendly

Well-equipped cottage suitable for couples or small families and their pets. Access is available to the fields and river behind the property. There is one small private garden at the front of the property and one shared grassed garden behind the cottage. A viewpoint over Sedbergh is within easy walking distance and there is a folder containing details of local walks in the cottage. The main road is an A road but is usually very quiet in the evenings and weekends. This has the benefit of it being well gritted in the winter months.

The main bedroom is a good size with a double bed, bedside tables, wardrobe and dressing table. It is separated from the rear bedroom by the landing and bathroom. The rear bedroom has twin beds with bedside tables and a lovely view over the fields.

It is easy to keep pets downstairs as there is a door separating the stairs from the lounge and floor surfaces are vinyl and laminate so very easy to clean.

The cottage is well-equipped with cleaning materials, pots, pans, dvds a book library and everything we can think of to make your holiday comfortable.

Perfect cottage & spot for dog friendly holiday

  • 5 of 5

Had a great time staying at Whitbeck with my little terrier. Cottage is ideal for a stay with your dog. Holly Terrier thoroughly enjoyed playing in the secure gardens and the floors were easy to clean ref pawprints ! The cottage was very well equipped, beautifully clean, well-maintained and the owners couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating to our needs. My parents and their dog stayed here in 2003, one of their best holidays ever, and I was delighted to find that it was still available. The cottage is ideally located and we had a great week touring the Dales and walking in the stunning countryside. We would love to come back again and again. Strongly recommended to all but especially if you have a dog, they'll love it !

Charming cosy cottage

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was very well appointed and clean - plenty of local information and the walking packs were excellent! A great base to discover both the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria. Plenty of wildlife in the front garden but no red squirrels this time. Not far from the Settle-Carlise railway which is stunning and a must. Excellent value and would highly recommend.

Lovely property and fantastic base to explore

  • 5 of 5

A very cosy cottage with everything needed for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed our time there very much. It made a fantastic base for exploring and plenty to see in every direction travelled. The owners were very helpful and the welcome wine and bottled water on arrival appreciated after our journey. Hope to stay again in the future.

From the Owner

The property is in a very peaceful location and has access to the River Clough. Local wildlife includes red quirrels and a variety of garden birds. The cottage is well equipped with a variety of DVDs and a playstation. When it snows the field behind is excellent for sledging and, although quiet, the main road at the front is classified as an A road and so is regularly gritted.
