Nestling in gently rolling hills you can recharge your batteries walking or cycling around the country lanes. Or perhaps a round of golf or canoeing along the gentle river dronne might be more to your taste. Or, maybe you just want to relax beside the pool!

This beautiful country-house is located on the Charente/Dordogne border, just a few minutes’ drive away from Aubeterre-sur-Dronne (listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France). The house is easily accessible by road. BA, Ryanair and Easyjet between them give you the choice of flights to Bordeaux, Bergerac, Limoges or Poitiers from various parts of the UK.

The house has all modern amenities (including internet access) and can accommodate up to ten people.


Our spacious country-house is about 150 years old, but the interior was completely refurbished in 2014. It was redecorated in a modern style with luxurious furniture, fixtures and fittings. The restyling was inspired and led by the renowned Dutch designer, Joris van Grinsven (www. Seigneursdeclerand. com). Joris has restyled many historic French houses and hotels and given them a new future whilst at the same time, respecting the historic elements in the original buildings.

The garden around the house and pool is laid to lawn, but includes lavender beds and some fine majestic trees offering lovely, aromatic shade. The three rooms on the south-facing rear of the house open onto the wide, very pleasant terrace. With its large family-sized table and parasols, what better way can there be to unwind and enjoy the local produce?

In the sunniest part of the two-acre garden we have built a new 12mx6m swimming-pool surrounded by a deck to soak up the southern sun. The pool is safely fenced.

There are shops for your everyday necessities in Aubeterre (3km), and St. Severin (5 km). Your nearest large supermarkets (Intermarché and Lidl) are in Chalais (10km) and Riberac (14km). The larger towns of Riberac, Angoulême and Périgueux are within 30 minutes to one hour’s drive.

You will find the 9-hole golf-course at Longeveau just 5 minutes away, with 18-hole courses in Angoulême and Périgueux. There are many nice and safe roads to walk or cycle along. The river Dronne is well-known for its canoeing and you can hire canoes of all types in Aubeterre.

Our villa has 5 spacious bedrooms and comfortable beds (10 sleeps).

The kitchen has all features you might need. We have 4 toilets and 3 bathrooms. There is plenty of space around the house or the private swimming-pool the to play and relax.

Prices are all-inclusive: no extra costs for cleaning, taxes, use of water and electricity. Also the use of (hotel quality) bed- bath- and kitchenlinen is included, as well as the use of pooltowels.!

You only bring yourself and family and friends!!

The last holidays in France we spend searching a home to rent now, and maybe later to live in ourselves.

At least we found our dream near to Aubeterre sur Dronne: une des plus beaux villages de France. The house needed to be freshen up. With the aid of Joris van Grinsven, a Dutch designer, with a lot of experiance in giving French properties a new life. The restyling is done perfectly with respect for the former house, and according to modern needs.

I am sure that everybody who visits our "Banninck" villa will have a wonderful time!

Why Manno bannink chose Charente

We bought our villa as a future investment. This part of France is famous because of its mild climate and nice summers. We like nice weather, but not too hot! The surroundings are very interesting: beautiful nature, yellow coloured hills with sunflowers. Aubeterre sur Dronne, one of the most beautiful villages in France within a few minutes. A property with much space around, too play or to relax. A splendid swimming pool with luxury furniture. In the neighbourhood a 9 holes golf course, the Dronne for all kind of activities, quit roads to walk or to make a cycle tour. Interesting cities (Angoulême, Bergerac, Perigueux) within an hour distance. And of course: the house it self: everything you might need is in it. Come and convince yourselves!

What makes this villa unique

Staying at our villa gives us, even when we were there for only a few days the feeling of being at home. The friendly atmosphere, the surrounding, the quality and convenience of the furniture. The beds are of hotel quality, and the kitchen is really fantastic. Within a few days stay in or villa we feel like reborn.

Notes on accommodation: All the interiour and exteriour furniture and equipment is new, according to modern needs. Outside: The two acres of garden provides lots of potential to play, including a swing for children. The terraces by the house and around the pool have large parasols and comfortable chairs for either dining or sunbathing. A barbecue is also available. The pool (12*6m) is fenced for safety of children. The surrounding terrace is planted with lavender plants. Utility Room: Wash-basins, washing-machine, tumble-drier, central-heating system, flat iron, ironing board, storage. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The use of towels (bath and pool) and linen (bedrooms and kitchen) are included. Weekly changes of linen are provided. Other: Dining room: light room with large table (seats ten people), door to the garden terrace. Hall: access to dining room, living room, kitchen, toilet and utility room

Beautiful house. fully equipped with everything necessary. Around the incredible nature. So I would like to come to the house in the spring - linden blossom in the garden, fragrance turn the head! Thank you for our vacation with no worries!

Heavenly, Stunning, What a fine and tasteful house

Mid May 2016 we had the privilege to stay a couple days in Villa de Banninck in a quiet and lovely part of France, the Charente, neighbour of the Périgord.

A mansion, well appointed, where you instantly feel at home . The architecture is decent and has something of a castle. Around the house a spacious garden, a playing ground almost as big as a cricket field with a comfortable swimming pool. Some spots are untouched and saved as natural meadows with various native plants.

The house has a tasteful interior design. The living room is quite spacious and has easy sitting benches and sofa's,wide screen television and CD/DVD players.

The kitchen is well equipped and very practical and has easy entrance to the terrace. We love cooking and sure all the stuff is there.

All the bedrooms are quiet, clean with excellent mattresses.

At a 5 minutes drive the authentic town of Aubeterre sur Dronne, indeed pointed out as one of ' Le plus beaux villages de France'. A marketplace so cosy with many places to eat.

Yes it was a great experience and really we want to go back one day and stay a bit longer.

Beautifully furnished , well equipped villa

We stayed in Villa Bannick for two weeks last August with another family. There was plenty of room for two families (3 children between us) and an Au Pair. The children loved the garden and the pool. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed, beds were very comfortable and the showers were good. V easy access to Aubeterre.

Only request would be to have a drinks fridge in the pool house!

Relax and enjoy.....

We spend the last days of 2016 and rge start of 2016 in villa De Bannick with our family. We enjoyed our stay from the first to the last minute! Reading, playing games, and drinking lovely wines fantastic wines.

A beautiful villa in stunning surroundings

I highly recommend this stunning spacious property within a quiet and beautiful neighbourhood! The house is spacious and it's obviously been recently refurbished to a very high standard, large airy bedrooms and bathrooms, a modern kitchen, cosy living area and lovely pool area! The surrounding area is very picturesque and only a short drive to the nearest town and amenities! The property owner was extremely helpful with a number of queries I had, and it was lovely to arrive to a generous welcome hamper! Overall a lovely place to relax and spend time with family and friends, I would not hesitate to return!

If you want to relax and enjoy the sun in a quite, beautiful neighborhood this is the place to be. The house has everything you want and more; beautiful, large bedrooms, great bathrooms, a huge kitchen, a dining room and a place where you can chill on the couch. The pool is beautiful and extremely clean. Make sure to bring your shoes, because there are many pretty, little places in the neighborhood you can discover and if you like golfing, kayaking, cycling, playing tennis etc.; it's all possible. Highly recommended!
