We are a family from Cambridge who bought this house as a weekend and holiday getaway. It's a home from home for us.

Rachel Morris purchased this cottage in 2014

Why Rachel Morris chose Walsingham

It is so close to the best that Norfolk can offer - beautiful beaches of Holkham, fish and chips at Wells, crabbing at Blakeney and amazing cycling and gastro pubs. What more could we ask?

What makes this cottage unique

The house is situated in a vibrant village, with the local shop and pub just a stone's throw away. Little Walsingham is truly unique and is a wonderful ancient pilgrimage town,

Wonderful Cottage in a beautiful location!

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely surprise this period cottage was! We stayed for a week over the Easter break and this Cottage was perfect for 2 families to share. Plenty of room with all the facilities we needed and the garden was very welcome for 5 children to run around in! We particularly loved the lounge area with a huge original fireplace - which we used every evening. The Village of Walsingham is perfectly located to explore Norfolk and the Village itself has a really nice Gastro pub in it which is only a 5 minute walk away, we had a lovely meal there one evening and popped in for a quick drink after a day out a few times. The age of the house made it feel truly special and we will definitely be back one day - Thanks Rachel!

A proper Norfolk house, very well presented and equipped, comfortable and homely.

  • 5 of 5

The house is in the beautiful and historic village of Walsingham, set away from the coast but close to all the beautiful seaside villages. The accommodation was perfect, very comfortable. I felt very rested after my short break!

A wonderful house in a lovely village

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely family holiday in your home. Everything was clean and tidy upon arrival and the house was very welcoming with plenty of space for a large group.

The location of the house was ideal for us being in Little Walsingham which had all local amenities and was close to Wells, Holt, Blakeney etc.

I would highly recommend to anybody looking for a house in the area

Charming cottage in a beautiful village

  • 4 of 5

I stayed with a group of 9 friends over a two day weekend to celebrate a birthday and as soon as we walked through the door there was a chorus of 'oohs and ahhs' from all the guests. The cottage appears small at first with the front door opening to a small sitting room, but door after door opens up into a picturesque cottage, with a large living space, dining room and kitchen; boasting exposed beans, sash windows and log burning fires.

The house filled every need, with various seating areas, shower rooms and entertainment systems (TV, radio with iphone docking). The garden backs onto one of the many churches in the village with beautiful brickwork and gorgeous summer bouquets all around the garden. The bedrooms were perfectly sized, with the younger, more agile in the party opting for the bunk bed and z-bed.

The cottage is on the edge of the village but a 40m walk takes you to the first pub and only a little further on you find a second pub, a farm shop, a chocolate shop and the Norfolk Riddle restaurant, which is a must! Not to mention the churches and Abbey that fill the village....

If you are looking for a beautiful cottage only a short distance from the coast (Wells) then i would high recommend this stay.

A fantastic get away!

  • 5 of 5

We went away as a group of friends on the bank holiday weekend. We arrived late the Friday night and could not believe our luck! The cottage was beautiful, spacious, light and furnished to a very high standard. Really comfortable beds and fluffy towels. Plenty to do and a great location. Cromer is just over half an hour away and lots of idyllic towns with fantastic boutique shops. Definitely recommend staying here and will be returning thanks Rachel and James

Convenient, spacious and charming throughout

  • 5 of 5

We loved the endless charm of the cottage. Every room had something unusual and interesting to look at. Clearly a lot of thought had gone into the detail. It looked well kept and tidy and everything worked well. We loved the conservatory looking out onto the cottage garden. Prefect when the sun came out. Our daughters loved playing with the toys in the playroom. We worried about Walsingham being too far inland, but we were not disappointed. Only a few minutes by car to Wells and the national cycle route passes through Wells. We cycled to Holkam hall with the kids and got the miniature train to Wells. The property is only 50m from the local store! The local farm shop, chip shop and restaurant were all tried Wifi worked well, which kept the kids entertained.
