Apartment in Sao Martinho do Porto, Silver Coast, Portugal - Excellent location just a short stroll from the beach.

The Bayside resort is located in the coastal town of Sao Martinho do Porto which lies at the heart of the Costa de Prata (the Silver Coast). It boasts the largest swimming pool in Sao Martinho, has a great children's play area and is just 200 metres (4 minute walk) to the beach. The apartment benefits from a huge balcony overlooking the swimming pool and it has air-conditioning in most rooms. The apartment is situated in the heart of Sao Martinho near to a number of great restaurants. There are also some fantastic restaurants hidden away along the cobbled streets. Sao Martinho do Porto is about 90 Kms north of Lisbon and Lisbon International Airport.

Coast/Beach:

There are huge stretches of magnificent beaches the length of Portugal; you will have no shortage of beautiful beaches to choose from during your stay. That said, please be aware that there are very powerful waves and currents along the Atlantic coast so it is best to be careful when choosing a beach to spend your day. The beach around Sao Martinho (75 metres from the property) is very safe as the waters are sheltered and calm. The beach around the Obidos lagoon (15 mins drive) is also safe.

Travel:

Flying to Lisbon Airport is recommended as it is an easy drive along the A8 taking an hour to Sao Martinho Do Porto. Hire a car from the airport if you are intending to use a car for your holiday. We will send you detailed instructions for how to get to Sao Martinho Do Porto when you book. The journey is about an hour to Sao Martinho Do Porto. As an alternative to Lisbon you can fly to Oporto (2.5 hour drive) or Faro (3.5 hour drive). We can assist with transfers if preferred.

Distances:

The neighbouring town Nazaré, a charming old fishing town is 10km away.

The beautiful medieval borough Óbidos (20 km),

Foz D'Arelho with the stunning Obidos Lagoon is 10km.

The historic town Alcobaca with the famous monastery is 15km.

Peniche, famous for surfing and the renowned 'supertubos' wave is 40km. From here you can catch a boat to the Berlengas Islands - a nature reserve.

Lisbon is 80km.

The UNESCO world heritage site Sintra with 2 palaces is 90km.

Given the location of Sao Martinho do Porto it suits those wanting to relax on a beach as well as those wanting to soak up some of the wide ranging cultural heritage of the Silver Coast. There is a vast wealth of history and culture in the area and there are many beautiful and picturesque towns too.

The majority of the restaurants that you will come across will be traditional Portuguese restaurants specialising in Seafood. Portugal has a superb tradition for fresh fish and shellfish and typically the dishes are reasonably simple making the fresh seafood the feature of the meal.

Changeover days are flexible. Arrival is after 15:30 and departure is by 10:00 hrs.

Notes on prices:
Over Christmas and New Year there is a minimum charge of 1 week and we require a refundable damages deposit of £300. At all other times a damages deposit of £100 is required.

A deposit of 20% is required to book this property.

The final balance and the refundable damages deposit of £100 are due 5 weeks before arrival.
