Purbeck Stone Cottage in Corfe Castle, Dorset, - Excellent Location For Exploring Purbeck And Only A 10 Minute Drive To Amazing Beaches

3 bedrooms, sleeps 6, beautiful Purbeck stone cottage with log burner right on the main street of Corfe Castle. The building was originally the telephone exchange for the village and has been converted into a domestic dwelling, hence the name "The Old Telephone Exchange". The cottage has been tastefully decorated with all the essentials needed for a self catering holiday. As we are lovers of home baking, the kitchen is very well equipped.

If you prefer to eat out, the Bankes Arms is within 5 minutes walk and serves excellent food. The village's main attractions include the Castle ruins, owned by the National Trust, Model village and train station where the Swanage Steam train runs 7 days a week. There are also cafe's, gift shops, bakery and small grocers store. The seaside town of Swanage is 5 miles away and the National Trust's Studland beach is also 5 miles away. Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are just 15 minutes away by car. The main benefit of its location in the village is that is has off street parking for at least 2 vehicles. Residential parking in Corfe is at a premium, so this is a big bonus for this property.

About Sarah Relph

I am a married mum of two teenagers, I work for my husband and our holiday home is our pride and joy. We have spent many holidays in Purbeck (Corfe Castle) and have saved like mad to be able to afford our own house down there which has been our dream for many years. To help with the up keep of the house, we have made the decision to rent our house for holiday lets. This then offers our guests the opportunity to enjoy the area as we have, whilst enjoying the comforts of a beautiful Purbeck stone cottage in the heart of Corfe Castle.

Why Sarah Relph chose Corfe Castle

We have been coming to this particular area of Dorset for nearly 20 years and just love it so much. There is so much to do and the scenery is beautiful.

What makes this cottage unique

The property is in the village of Corfe Castle and a 5 minute walk to the main attraction of the Castle which is owned by the National Trust, and 5 miles away from Blue Flag Beaches

The property itself is well appointed. It has a very well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven, microwave, toaster, slow cooker and lots of everyday utensils. My big love in the winter is the log burger! There is also a washing machine, Nintendo Wii console with a large selection of games, DVD player with large selection of adult and child DVD's, ipod docking station, Wifi, outdoor decking area, with table and chairs and BBQ.

Enjoyed our week at this cottage. Very clean and well equipped cottage. Spacious and well laid out. It is on the main road (most houses in Corfe castle are) but the bedrooms are at the rear which helps with the noise. Loads of games DVDs and toys to keep you entertained. There is a pub with good food nearby. Bakery in Corfe castle is very good. With small children, and decent weather, we spent most of our time at Corfe castle and Studland bay (15 min drive). Notes on accommodation: No pets allowed and strictly no smoking on the premises. Outside: Enclosed decking area with patio table and 6 chairs, BBQ (requiring charcoal). Gated access to the parking area. Driveway parking for at least 2 vehicles, possibly 3 if they were small cars. Cleaning / Towels / Linen: Towels and bed linen are included and are changed at the end of your stay. The property will be thoroughly cleaned on your departure and is included in the price. Other: There is a large storage cupboard in the hallway that houses the washing machine.

Loved this cottage. Great location.

Enjoyed staying here. Well equipped (kitchen equipment, dvd's, books, games, laundry etc) Well and thoughtfully decorated. Close to the village. Easy access to other areas. Would stay here again. Highly recommended.

A delightful cottage

This cottage is perfect for a break in Corfe Castle, only a 10 minute walk to the village centre. The cottage was left beautifully and had everything you would want on your holiday. Very recommended.

Very well appointed character property in a super location

Our son was getting married in Corfe Castle and the property was perfect for our needs, with our family having an ideal base. The cottage was clean, beautifully presented and well equipped. The owner, Sarah was incredibly helpful.

Our only concern was the bathroom which was stretched with 6 adults. It is a pity that an ensuite cannot be located in the large upstairs bedroom.

Otherwise it was a great place within easy reach of the many attractions in the area.
