Farmhouse in Boisjean, Montreuil, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France - Rural Location Within Easy Reach Of Beaches, Golf Clubs And Places Of Historical Interest

Bright, sunny rooms in an old farmhouse extensively modernised and set in 2 acres of pasture land. There is gas central heating throughout, double glazing, wall insulation and a big log burning stove. There are 6 bedrooms sleeping 11 adults comfortably or 12/14 using a sofa bed in one of the larger bedrooms and a single bed in a study area. In addition it has 3 modern bathrooms and a 4th toilet. There is a very large kitchen, living room (40 sq m) and dining area (table seats 14) making it very spacious. The barn has a large games room with a 7 ft snooker/billiards table, table tennis table, darts and games. There is ample storage for golf clubs and sports equipment. There are several, various bicycles but cyclists must be competent enough to check bikes before using.

Autumn Family Break

Great welcome from local family. House as expected with good facilities throughout. A minor problem with the heating rectified quickly. Considering the time of the year the weather was kind to us and there are plenty of beaches in the area

Spacious comfortable holiday home

The house is very spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was incredibly well equipped and all the appliances were easy to use. We had 12 adults staying at one point and there was plenty of room. The garden was very good with seating areas in the front of the house and the back so could make the most of the sun . The pictures on the website do not do it justice The games room was great as well. Would recommend without hesitation.

Would recommend 'les jardins de Valloires'. Also the beach at Fort Mahon. St Valery sur Somme is well worth a visit

Excellent property, well appointed

The property was far better than we expected, the photos do not do it justice.

The welcome left by the owners was very much appreciated and all enquiries were met both promptly and positively. Even the weather was kind to us.

A gem in the countryside

We had a super two week holiday. We were three families ages ranging from one to sixty five. The facilities of the house are outstanding and have been well planned. The photographs maybe do not do the house justice it is really lovely. My family had a superb holiday helped greatly by this accommodation.David the owner was exceedingly helpful with information about the property.I know that we shall be back as we do feel that any other property would have a lot to live up to. Lots of lovely memories. Thank you!!

Extended Family Holiday

The property was exactly as described, for a party of 9 we had plenty of room and it had everything we needed and more. It was well equipped with good instructions for appliances and really was home from home. The farmhouse is in an ideal location within a quiet village with a short drive to the nearest bakery. There are plenty of things to do and see locally, the beach is about 20 mins drive, Berck and Le Touquet are worth a visit. Children would enjoy the Bagatelle theme park, we visited mid week and it was very quiet. You must visit Montreuil and walk the wall and visit the shops. Rando-Rail at Lumbres is good fun and the chocolate shop/factory in Beussent is a must do. David was very helpful from start of booking to ensuring our stay was the best it could be, we especially appreciated the welcome pack. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends and family and would definitely stay here again. Thank you David.

Perfect

We enjoyed a wonderful time in this lovely home - the best holiday home we have ever stayed in. We stayed in December but we were warm inside with a really efficient wood fire and central heating. The beds were really comfortable, the kitchen superbly equipped, everywhere was spaciousness and well thought out. The teenagers especially appreciated the games room with its table tennis, snooker table and darts board. We visited Le Touquet, Montreuil and La Coupole - all within easy driving distance. In all - perfect! Thank you David and Sue!

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Long, safe sandy beaches at Berck (10 mls), Le Touquet (15 mls), Merlimont, Quend, Fort Mahon. Berck and Merlimont are cyclable. Wind, sand and kite surfing popular.

Travel:

60 minutes to Calais Port and 50 minutes to the Shuttle.

Distances:

Boisjean is 5 miles from Montreuil, 15 miles from Le Touquet, 10 miles to Berck. Local places worth visiting (30-minute drive or easy cycle) are Valloires, Maintenay, Chartreuse monastery and Etaples (fish market). Further afield but easy drives to Arras, Abbeville, St Valery, Hesdin, WW1 sites, Crecy and Agencourt.

Further Details:

Small shop and baker's in Wailly Beaucamp. Montreuil has shops, supermarkets, banks, good restaurants, tourist office and a Saturday market.

A good selection of indoor swimming pools in Montreuil (fitness room), Fort Mahon (water chutes, saunas, Turkish baths), Berck and outdoor pool in Le Touquet with water chutes. Children would find Bagatelle amusement park, and the Nausicaa aquarium in Boulogne interesting.

The price includes all sheets duvets bedding and towels. The house is thoroughly cleaned before let and we would expect a reasonable standard of cleaning to be maintained. If you have to leave in in a rush please negotiate with Marie Claude opposite for a couple of extra hours !
. A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required to secure the booking. The balance must be paid 5 weeks prior to departure plus a £200 security deposit. This will be fully refunded provided the house and its contents are not damaged. .

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is flexible but Saturday is preferred
