Great Holiday

  • 5 of 5

We have just had a lovely holiday at Villa Serefe. It is in a handy location with great views. From the initial request of booking this villa, the owner, Sharon, has been extremely helpful and replied to queries practically by return and was very flexible in view of our staying at the villa a little later because of the late flights. The villa was well equipped, spotless and bright with various terraces and balconies to take in the views and is excellent value for money. There was a linen change/light clean in the middle of the week and the pool was cleaned regularly and pool towels were supplied (an added bonus in our view when trying to keep within the weight limit in your luggage!). Also the WIFI was a bonus - having stayed in other villas where it was erratic to say the least.

We used Define Tours for the pick up from the airport and for the various trips. They are extremely helpful and by talking to some other people on the various trips we paid a bit less for ours - so worth bearing in mind!

We also went on a boat trip to the Sunken City - and have to say that whilst we really enjoyed the trip itself, there was not much to see through the bottom of the boat! There were interesting ruins on the hillside going down into the sea but the views through the glass bottom of the boat to the "sunken city" were somewhat disappointing in our opinion.

There are so many great places to eat in Kalkan; we haven't had a bad meal there yet. You can get a great meal at Kaya - one of the owners is also a member of the magic circle and will come and do some close up magic at your table at the end of your meal. They also do a day trip up to their farm in the hills for a BBQ and this is well worth going to. Works out about £23 per head, you leave at 10.30 a.m. - 5.30 p.m. There is plenty of food and entertainment to be had. Kosk is another great restaurant. All in all Kalkan is a great place and we will be back.

We would not hesitate to recommend this villa to anyone thinking of going out to Kalkan.

Fabulous holiday

  • 5 of 5

An absolutely fantastic holiday! Villa Serefe was beautiful, we loved the welcome pack and the transfers were super- nothing too much trouble for Ozgur. The pool was cleaned daily and dining on the roof terrace and playing cards overlooking the lights of Kalkan amazing. We went to the mud baths, gorge and Patara Beach all beautiful and great value for money! The beach club at Kalamar was great fun especially for the children - trampolines and pedaloes. In Kalkan itself there are so many restaurants to choose from and to be honest we didn't have a bad meal in any of them- have left a list of favourites in the visitor book! Thanks to Sharon for being so flexible and helpful, we had a late flight going home and were able to stay in the villa enjoying the pool and sun until pick up. Would not hesitate in recommending this villa to friends and family. Huge thank you for allowing us to share a little bit of your paradise.

A superb villa

  • 4 of 5

We have just got back from three wonderful weeks in this villa and it was just fabulous. The villa is exactly as described, every bedroom has its own balcony overlooking Kalkan bay, with the most fabulous views imaginable. The fact that the villa has internet is indeed a bonus, it makes such a difference! It is completely home from home, so if you don't fancy going out, the kitchen is very well equipped with everything you would need to enjoy a nice home cooked meal on the roof terrace overlooking the twinkling lights of Kalkan, or have yourself a BBQ round the pool. There is also a water cooler, which means no lugging huge bottles of water from the local shops. The welcome pack even included a bottle of wine. Even beach towels are supplied, and the hairdryer in the main bedroom is very powerful. The beds are comfy, especially the huge bed in the master bedroom. The pool, which is a really decent size, and surrounding patio area is cleaned every single day, and the villa itself is cleaned, including a change of bed linen and towels every two or three days. The transfer was great, and the day after arrival we were visited by the owner of Define Tours, who gives you what amounts to your very own Welcome Meeting, he is a mine of information, giving hints and tips for days out, the best places to eat, the banks that give the best exchange rate etc.etc. Sharon has indeed chosen a very good management staff to ensure that your every need is catered for. We would most certainly recommend this villa to our family and friends. We were very sorry to leave, but we have listed some interesting places to visit and also recommended some great places to eat in her visitors comment book left in the villa. Thanks Sharon for a brilliant holiday.

Great all round! Loved it

  • 5 of 5

We booked our stay at the Villa Serefe and had great communication throughout the booking process and right up until and after. If ever I sent an email it was usually answered within 10mins by the owner!

The villa itself- wonderful, we arrived to an immaculately clean and well designed villa, it had all of the amenities we could have asked for and matched the description perfectly. The pictures don't do it justice, its spacious (all 3 bedrooms are large and comfortable- the main bedroom has an enormous bed! If you struggle with early sunrises waking you up I'd suggest you bring an eye mask (I cant sleep without one) as the bedrooms are quite light in the mornings- but the sun beaming in was a great way to start the day.

The kitchen was very well equipped- having a water cooler was a great feature as it meant that we didn't have to buy bottled water every day- we just replaced the large one on the cooler and took the empty one back to the store.

If you were on a shoestring and planned not to eat out every night you could very comfortably prepare great meals in this villa or have wonderful BBQ's in the lovely garden with views out over the bay.

The villa was in a wonderful location- it was about a 10-15min walk into town (longer coming back because of the steep hill which was great to get the heart pumping and work off that great dinner you've just had). We had a little difficulty in finding it at first purely because the address wouldn't show up on google maps but the owner gave helpful directions- we just didn't pay attention!

Throughout our stay the gardens were maintained and the villa was cleaned during the week we were there- all of this took place with us hardly even noticing, very discreet.

Pros- great location and views, beautiful private pool and garden, well equipped and well thought out. Rooms are a great size, beds comfortable. Great facilities, WIFI!! (big bonus), welcome pack on arrival was fantastic after our late arrival there at midnight

Cons- of the 3 showers, 2 were not wonderful but they were very useable- the newest one on the top floor was great. If you like complete darkness over night the curtains are not what we're used to at home. Another con is that we couldn't stay forever!

I'd really recommend this villa, it is a great place for friends and families to stay and completely unwind in a beautiful setting. I'd be back there in a heartbeat.

Beautiful villa, Amazing views, Perfect

  • 5 of 5

I have recently returned from a two week stay with a group of friends at Villa Serefe and i have no complaints. The whole holiday was relaxed and stress free, the transfers were arranged by the owner via a company called Define tours - Ozgar the lovely owner of this also came to visit on our first day and is willing to arrange any trips that you would like to go on at a very reasonable price. We organised a day trip to fethiye market and Olu Deniz with him (approx £12.50) was a very respectable company/transport and i have to say it was about half the price of the same trip advertised with other companies.

The Pictures really do not do the villa justice, it has amazingly beautiful views from every balcony and the pool and the view is not blocked by other villas which can sometimes be the case in Kalkan. The description given for the property is on the mark and unlike a lot of the villas it actually does have WIFI.

The pool is great and cleaned daily and there is plenty of sunloungers and seating for approximately 6-8 people.

The property is about a ten minute walk down a hill into the old town, it is more than possible to walk back although i have to warn it is not for the faint hearted. The last stretch leading up to the villa is very steep but if your active and looking to burn off the calories you just piled on at dinner then take up the challenge and walk back. If however you don't want to walk back then do not fear there are plenty of taxi's in kalkan to ferry you back and it only costs approx 12TL (£3).

The property wouldn.t be suitable for wheelchair bound visitors but otherwise i think it would suit most. There is also a driveway for those who want to hire a car.

I would recommend this property to anyone, the owners are really helpful and friendly and will help you in any way they can - And we also arrived to a welcome package with food and a sneaky bottle of wine on our arrival (Thankyou Sharon!).

Kalkan itself is beautiful and has some of the best food i have ever eaten in turkey, it is a brilliant place for families and couples and friends looking for a relaxed atmosphere. Although there are plenty of bars/lounges there is only 1 club in Kalkan so if you are looking for a rave this is not the place for you.

All in all great holiday and great villa, i can't fault any of it.

Very sad to leave this beautiful villa!

  • 5 of 5

This holiday couldn't have gone more smoothly than it did! Sharon was fabulous from the start with speedy replies to emails, flexibility on check out time and arranging excellent private transfers for us. The villa itself is gorgeous; the most incredible views of Kalkan, a lovely relaxing pool area and excellent self catering facilities. Sharon has thought of every little detail, including a cupboard full to the brim of beach towels so there is no need to bring your own! Easy downhill stroll into town which has so many shops, bars and amazing restaurants. Lots of good value excursions which can be booked though the same transfer company, Define Tours, our favourite was the Sakilkent Gorge trip. There is simply nothing negative to say about Kalkan or Villa Serefe. We will be back!!!!
