This cosy and freshly decorated studio apartment sleeps 4 (2 in bunk beds and a comfy sofa bed). Samoens is a wonderful village recognised for its beauty, stunning scenery and year round facilities. With direct access to the Grand Massif ski area and proximity to Geneva (one hour). Direct ground floor access to the patio and gardens extends summer and winter living space while the mountain views are a delight. Visitors will appreciate the bars and restaurants of the village and the surprising quietness of the apartment location, forgetting it is only 2 minutes walk to the centre of town.

Other facilities include the ice rink (a new one opened in 2015), swimming pool, tennis courts, golf driving range on the lake, fantastic cycling, fabulous alpine walks, river rafting, paragliding, and just about any mountain activity you can think of.

In 20126 the Tour de France was in town for the penultimate stage on Saturday 23rd July, 2016. Try the famous Col de Joux Plane which rises 1,200 m direct from the village at an incredible 12 degree incline!

About Brian Hardie

We bought this apartment in 2014 having learned what a wonderful place Samoens is for both winter and summer visitors. The skiing on Grand Massif is fabulous while summer visitors will appreciate adventure holidays to bike, walk, climb. raft, paraglide or whatever. We love staying ourselves and take advantage of the diverse facilities that Samoens has to offer all ages.

Naturally, work gets in the way of us spending as much time as we'd like there, so we hope to rent it for several weeks a year. We expect that most guests will want to return as the location is great and Samoens is a beautiful medieval village that is bustling all year round.

We hope you choose to stay here and enjoy it as much as we do!

Why Brian Hardie chose Flaine - Grand Massif

Samoens is a wonderful location and we love our frequent visits.

Samoens is thriving in summer and offers a truly excellent holiday destination for family activities. With average summer temperatures in the mid 20s to 30's and numerous activities on our doorstep, it's a holiday destination not to be missed. With the Grand Massif Express lift now open in summer, you can easily enjoy: Mountain biking, hiking, climbing, rafting and other river activities, quad biking, horse riding, canoeing, swimming in lakes, adventure parks, parapenting, archery, golf driving range, historic tours, botanical gardens, waterfalls, nature reserve, wildlife walks, kids club etc...

These are all within 5 minutes of Samoens! A little further afield is Annecy, Geneva and Chamonix Mont Blanc.

What makes this apartment unique

The Tour de France and Etapes (practice weeeknd) came to Samoens in 2016. Samoens makes an ideal venue for keen cyclists and you even have your own bike store! The studio apartment sleeps 4, is freshly decorated and offers direct access to the garden via the sunny patio. Enjoy breakfast on the patio in summer and why not afternoon tea in the sun after a great days skiing?

The sofa bed pulls out and retracts quickly and easily and is surprisingly comfortable while the bunk beds in the entrance hall offers cunning storage options. Even the dresser doubles as a pull down table.

Mobile wifi is available for responsible users while the TV and Xbox offers gamers DVD access, with USB/HDMI access for laptops and memory sticks for your favourite programmes.

Direct access to the gardens and table tennis tables dotted around the well-kept grounds. The traditional cinema (200m away) offers the latest blockbusters during the peak season and is only 2 minutes away. Easy access to Geneva. Enjoy skiing and summer holidays in a truly remarkable location.

Perfect cosy ski apartment in Samoens

  • 5 of 5

My son and I spent a lovely ski holiday in Samoes and felt right at home in Brian’s apartment. This cosy apartment offered everything that we needed for our ski holiday and was conveniently located near the town center and a 5-minute bus ride to the Grand Massif Express. Brian gave incredibly clear arrival information and recommendations for our stay, including the Roland Gay ski shop where I got new equipement - this has never happened in 15 years of renting in the Alps - and wonderful service ! Before and during our stay, Brian was very prompt in responding to our inquiries. We would love to come back during the summer months so we could enjoy the patio and back yard as well as, of course, the hiking and everything else the mountains has to over in the summer.

Samoens

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable studio apartment. Well appointed, with everything you need for your stay.

Location is excellent, just a minutes walk into a very pretty town centre. Samoens is chilled and relaxed, great restaurants and a couple of bars. The deli's are excellent as well, very tempting!

The ski bus stop is about 150 yards away, and the slopes a 1 minute bus ride, its a great location. Grand Massif skiing is excellent, well linked up and looked after. Mountain restaurants were a refreshing friendly change as well!!

All in all, excellent!

New Year 2015

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely New Year skiing in Samoens - a very traditional French town. Ski bus stops nearby. Two adults and two children enjoyed staying in this apartment. It is very clean and comfortable and owners have thought of every little detail. Easy access to ski locker and parking. It would also be a great place to stay for a Summer Holiday in Samoens.

Owner's Response: Thanks Kate, really appreciate the feedback - the delay in Owners Direct systems are now resolved. Anyway, we would agree that a summer visit would be great too. There really is so much for all family members to do that a week or two would fly past. And Samoens is notoriously sunny in summer too! You would be most welcome to stay again. Best wishes Brian and Sandra

Nice and Cosy

  • 5 of 5

Me and a friend stayed in this apartment for 2 weeks. It is a really nice, clean apartment, no complaints at all. It has all the basics you need for a self catering apartment and more. Great shower/bath and excellent location to shops/pubs and bus stop for the ski lifts. Would definitely stay here again.

Just returned from a lovely stay in this ground floor apartment, which is nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Very well equipped with everything you could need. Patio garden for drinks after skiing!

Well situated for the ski bus and amenities in the village.

Very helpful owners, and the local agents were also great and speak perfect English.

Would highly recommend this apartment.
