A 3 bedroomed detached bungalow which has hosted holiday makers for 25 years. It sleeps up to 8, a double and a single bed in 2 of the rooms and a twin in the other. it has a well-equipped kitchen, disabled access, and a sheltered garden, ideal for relaxing afternoons. Pets are most welcome. Off-street parking for 3 cars. Close to main bus routes for town centre and sandy beaches and other attractions.

I was born in Poole and returned approximately 15 years ago.

I am a trained nurse and midwife and am currently working as a Practice Nurse in a local GP surgery. I have taken over the running of the property from my parents.

My daughters and I have benefitted greatly from living in such a vibrant town as Poole.

My parents have run this property as a Holiday Home for the last 24 years, and it has now passed to me.

I stayed here with friends and found it clean, comfortable and roomy, with a lovely garden. Hadn't realised how much there is to do in the area - really loved Sandbanks and it was easy to get to. Kaye is very helpful and we'd definitely go again.

From the Owner

The property is centrally located and on a main bus route to Sandbanks, Poole and Bournemouth. A car is not essential at all. It is approximately 200 yards to Poole Park and the nearest convenience store. Although it is on a busy main road it is set back with off road parking for up to 3 cars. Once inside the property the traffic noise is minimal. The south facing back garden is large, enclosed and sheltered. The property is a bungalow and all rooms are easily accessible from the main hall.

Wychcott is 3 miles from stunning Sandbanks with its sandy beaches, glamorous hotels and ferry to Studland bay, with its famous sand dunes. Much of this is easily bike-able, but the area is also well-served by buses. A walk down Evening Hill is lovely, with great views of a bay you might expect to see on the French Riviera, and it's only 5 minutes away. Sandbanks is a windsurfers' paradise with a cosmopolitan and elegant vibe. Bournemouth, also famed for its beaches, is 4.5 miles away.


3 miles to Cherbourg-Poole ferry.

Bournemouth International Airport - 10 miles.

Use of car not essential.

Poole Train Station is nearby with regular London trains (Waterloo) - journey time approx 1 Hour 40 minutes.


3 miles to Sandbanks, 4 miles to ferry to take passengers and cars to Shell Bay and Corfe Castle and Swanage and surrounding areas.

4.5 miles to Bournemouth town centre.

1 mile to Poole town centre.

2.5 miles to Poole Quay.

35 miles to Southampton.

Further Details:

Wychcott is well placed for those who want to go further afield and explore the Jurassic Purbeck Coast. Brownsea Island is a short boat trip from Poole Harbour and well worth a visit, as are Corfe Castle and Swanage. Poole's Lighthouse Art Centre is close-by with a variety of productions all year round. The Bungalow really is also a home from home to relax in, with plenty of local shops and amenities.

Booking Notes:
Please email or phone. Booking procedure is straightforward with a £100 required in per week in the first instance for bookings a month or more in advance. Final payment should take place 2 weeks before arrival date. Payment should be made by bank transfer with my banking details to be provided by email. I also ask for a £30 cash as security deposit for 2 sets of keys that are returned at the end of your stay with breakages replaced/reported and property left clean and tidy. Wifi at an added cost of £10 per week.

Changeover Day:
Generally our clients check out before 10am on a Saturday but can be flexible depending on booking the following week.

Notes on prices:
Our prices get higher as we get nearer the holiday seasons. We will accomodate less than 7 nights and also, if able, will accomodate longer term letting in the winter time. The property is approx 1 mile from Poole Hospital.

The full amount is due 2w before arrival date. Rates change according to the time of year. £100 per week is required to secure the booking within 5d of verbal/written agreement. Full rental becomes payable unless 8w written notice is given.

Wychcott is a comfortably furnished, spacious property with the obvious advantage, for those who are disabled, of being on one level. It is perfectly placed to reach Sandbanks'wonderful beaches, Poole Park, and Poole Old Town to name a few of the area's attractions. The garden is a real bonus and enclosed and great for well-behaved dogs. It has cable tv, including a Sports Channel. Please note that there are gas/electricity meters to which £1 coins are needed to feed. During spring it is approximately £3 gas/daily and £2 electricity.There are separate gas and electric meters taking pound coins. Also there is a coin-operated phone.

Outside: A lovely sheltered SE facing garden with table and chairs provides a restful and quiet space and is also great for pets. Utility Room: Washing machine/iron/coffee machine/hoover/skateboard/body board/fishing net for kids., Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Pillows provided but duvets, covers and pillowcases and sheets can be provided at extra charge. (£5 per set) £1.50 per towel. Blankets provided. Wifi charged at £10 per week. Other: There is a narrow area beyond the utility area with a separate shower and toilet room. This has a door that can open onto the back garden. There is a porch area at front of bungalow to leave shoes/coats/wheelchairs.
