Cottage in Westmancote, Nr. Cheltenham, The Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, England - Peaceful Location With Fantastic Views

Mole End Cottage is built of cotswold stone and has been renovated to modern standards but still retaining lots of character. Inglenook fireplace with log burning stove (toasting forks provided), exposed stone walls, sloping ceilings, oak doors and flooring throughout all adds to the romance and charm. Located a short distance from junction 9 of the M5, Mole End Cottage is an idyllic retreat in a rural location, but also makes an ideal base for visiting the Cotswolds and surrounding area. From visting film locations, site seeing, shopping, horse racing, leisure or rural pursuits the location of Mole End Cottage is ideal for all this. Then return to the cottage at the end of the day and enjoy the sound of the stream in the garden, watch the sun set over Bredon Hill or sit in front of the log burning stove before retiring to a comfy bed for a good nights sleep.

About the Owner

We moved to Bredon over 20 years ago and have watched our two children grow up in this area. We have taken an active part in village life over the years and love that there is so much going on in the village for all age groups.

The picture was taken while taking down the ceiling in bedroom 2, it was very dirty and dusty!

September break

  • 5 of 5

My 3 friends and I stayed at Mole End Cottage for a week...a really lovely week. Joanne was so helpful before our stay by email..and very happy to talk us through good places to visit and where to eat..through her recommendation, we went to Eckington Manor for a birthday meal, and it was amazing. That was booked 30 mins after we arrived at the cottage :-) we loved the welcome basket on arrival..the cottage is beautiful and spotlessly clean and the cottage had everything we needed...and more. We enjoyed sitting at the end of the garden...the view was so beautiful..we even saw Deer whilst drinking tea or having cocktails :-) It's a really lovely base to stay at and be able to visit the pretty Cotswold villages nearby...we went to Tewkesbury..the tea shop there is brilliant, Broadway, and the Tower, travelled on the nearby steam train, visited Cheltenham for shopping, Bourton on Water for tea and cake and the Crown and the Yew Tree local pubs served great food. We didn't have time to do it all but we had a great week and Joanne was just brilliant. Thank you :-)

Owner's Response: Sounds like you all had a great time. You were so lucky to see a deer, they are so pretty. Makes a change from the sheep in the field! Eckington Manor is great and so pleased that you were able to get in at short notice, what a treat. Thank you for being lovely guests and it would be great to see you all again.

Beautiful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

The weekend break was a chance to take time out from busy lives and to meet up with friends from University for a catch up. The cottage provided the ideal base for our break. The cottage's four bedrooms provided us all with our own space whilst enjoying the lovely open plan kitchen diner and lounge. The property was beautifully clean and the garden was a highlight with the lovely stream and cottage garden planting. We visited the local pub and everyone was very friendly despite it being FA Cup Final night. Thank you Joanne for your hospitality.

Sensational cottage in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

Four of us stayed here while we participated in the Questars Cotswold Adventure Race on 14/05/16. After a grueling 20k trail run, 35k mountain bike and 3k kayak down the Avon returning to this comfy and spotlessly clean cottage with it's log burner, relaxing garden and wonderfully picturesque location was just what we needed. Joanne was most hospitable, went out of her way to ensure that we had everything we needed and was a pleasure to deal with all round. Highly recommended.

Owner's Response: You are definately the most active guests to have stayed at the cottage. You certainly deserved somewhere nice to stay after completing all those activities. Perhaps an ice bath would be needed next year? Glad you enjoyed your stay, keep training and hopefully see you next year. Thank you.

Stunning cottage catering for your every need

  • 5 of 5

We booked Mole End for a long weekend birthday celebration and it certainly didn't disappoint. The Owners of this house were there to greet us on arrival, show us around and give us some hints and tips on places to visit/ eat and see during our stay. They had added some gorgeous extras to the house including banners and balloons to get out birthday party started off in style. The house was perfect in every way, clean, well equipt, modern and spacious ( much bigger than it looks on the photos) we enjoyed lovely log fires in, stunning walks along Bredon hills and some lovely pub dinners in the local area. Well done Joanne and Andrew!, everything was perfect and we will definitely be coming back again for a revisit as there is so much still to se and do at Mole End Cottage 😊 .

From the Owner

Westmancote is a pretty village on the slope of Bredon Hill. Very few houses come up for sale, so when my husband spotted Mole End Cottage, we just had to view. The location is great, with some fantastic views. The garden is a good size with its own little brook and the cottage had potential. I just love cotswold stone, it had an inglenook fireplace and I loved the name! Mole End Cottage has been completely renovated. You can see the before and after pictures in the cottage. The whole family has been involved in the renovation and a few friends as well. We plan to move to the cottage once my daughter leaves home, so we have put a lot of time and effort into the renovation.

Facilities

From the Owner

Mole End Cottage has been renovated to a high standard. Oak doors, flooring and skirting board throughout. Painted oak kitchen with quartz worktop and the wine fridge seems popular with guests. We love the great views from all of the upstairs bedrooms. You can spend hours just watching the day pass and the sun set over the hill. You are in a beautiful place, yet you have all the convenience of large towns close by.
