Castle View is a fine Victorian town house that has been completely renovated, keeping many of its beautiful period features, yet with a very contemporary feel. The property offers excellent accommodation, tucked away in a quiet crescent, just off the main shopping street of Scarborough. Lots of bars and restaurants are just a stone’s throw away and guests are not far away from the award-winning beaches and historic harbour. The Stephen Joseph Theatre, famous for its world premieres of almost all of Alan Ayckbourn’s plays, is just around the corner. Scarborough is a perfect holiday base to visit the North Yorkshire Coast. Whitby, Bridlington and Filey are easy accessible by car, as well as the famous North Yorkshire Moors National Park, with its steam railway from Pickering to Whitby. Flamborough Head and RSPB Bempton Cliffs are just a 15-minute drive away, where guests can observe puffins, dolphins and seals in their natural habitat. The historic city of York is less than an hour’s drive away, or you can hop on the train and be there in 30 minutes. For those of you without transport, Castle View is a 2-minute walk from the main train station. With a wide range of places to visit, Castle View is the perfect holiday retreat. Beach ½ mile. I live in a quiet village on the Yorkshire Wolds with my girlfriend and cat.

We love mountain biking in and around North Yorkshire are keen surfers and often indulge in a spot of jet ski fishing.

I have been a self employed property developer for the past ten years with a particular passion for period houses.

There were 11 of us that stayed at castle view with an age range from 8 to 75. Everyone who went with us enjoyed it and couldn't speak more highly of the property.



On arrival at the property, there was a welcome pack, 2 cakes,a bottle of wine, and a welcome card from Rik. The table had a beautiful bouquet of lilies and the cleanliness is what struck me, it was immaculate not a speck of dust anywhere. Nice touches, it seems there is nothing they haven't thought of.



The beds are comfortable, the bedding is white so you know it's clean. There are towels supplied too.



The house itself is absolutely beautiful, the renovation has been done tastefully and for a holiday letting it is the by far best we have stayed in so far. The kitchen is well equipped and there is no equipment you need to take it is all supplied.



The rooms are all a good size, the bathrooms and showers are awesome!



The yard is small but enclosed and has a BBQ and a washing line that pulls out, there is a washing machine and tumble dryer in the utility room.



The location is very central, out of the front door it is a 10 to 15 minute walk to the north bay, turn right 2 minutes to the town centre and again 10 to 15 minute walk to the South Bay. So the location is superb as once your parked up unless you want to go out of Scarborough you can walk pretty much everywhere you want to go.



I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit Scarborough.

Outside: There is a small rear yard with lockable bike store. Utility Room: The utility room is equipped with 7kg washing machine, tumble drier, sink and a range of units. It also houses a combination boiler that runs the central heating. Iron and ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All high quality linen and fluffy towels are included, as is a welcome pack. Castle View is cleaned weekly on the change over day (Friday). We accept up to 2 well behaved pets. Other: Dining room decorated in the art deco style with adequate seating around a large oak dining table for 12 guests, with 42 inch TV, Wii games console, DVD player with films and a range of table games and books.

Fantastic house!

I wouldn't hesitate to book this property again. I stayed for the weekend with 10 other ladies and we were all so impressed! The house is gorgeous and beautifully decorated with everything you could possibly need, the photos don't do it justice. Ryk was so helpful with local knowledge and we were made to feel so welcome! The house is well placed with town, bars, restaurants and the beach all within easy walking distance. A fantastic weekend with lovely memories made! Thank you for sharing your lovely property with us!

Beautiful house, central location

We were a a group of 7 adults, 4 children aged 2-5yrs and a baby. This was the perfect house for our annual get together. Bargain! Lots of rooms (over lots of floors), 2 were triples which helped with the toddler and baby, lots of fridge space, enough bathrooms, a utility with washer and dryer. Literally 100yards from the town centre and the Weatherpoons. Owner kindly supplied extra parking permits. In the end, we only had to pay for a couple of days parking on one car. Spent a lot of time at Scarborough beach front, went to the sea life, also went to Filey and Whitby. Lots that we didn't get round to doing. Highly recommend for a gathering of family and friends!

Lovely house, exactly what we wanted

Stayed here on a work trip. The house was found in excellent condition and had everything we needed. It was very clean, warm and with lots of space, so we (8 of us), were not on top of each other. Would recommend and would look to book again, should we be back in the area.

lovely house

Just returned from a weekend here with 10 friends for my sisters hen party. The house was perfect very spacious, clean and well equipped. The location was great just a short walk to the centre and the beach, would definitely recommend.

Castle View is within walking distance (10 mins) to the two award winning beaches in Scarborough. Famed for its surf, North bay hosts the surf championships in October with South bay being calmer and safer for swimming. Both beaches are lifeguard patrolled in the summer season.

Travel:

Castle View is approx. 2 mins walk from the main train station with car parking opposite. There are parking permits provided for 2 cars free of charge.
