The apartments are set in the grange of an old traditional Savoyarde farmhouse, in the picturesque village of Essert Romand. This beautiful property comprises of two inter communicating eight bed apartments, each one is arranged over two floors and is full of rustic charm, original beams etc. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, two bathrooms, a living room and dining area with fabulous views of the surrounding mountains. Essert Romand is very proud to have the highly recommended “La Petite Auberge Restaurant” just a 5 minute walk from the chalet. There are many other restaurants, shops, cinemas and bars in the main town centre of Morzine to keep you entertained during your stay. We are a 5 minute drive from the vibrant Morzine town centre or a 200m walk to the ski bus. At Chalet La Salle you are spoiled for choice when it comes to accessing the Portes du Soleil region, it is one of the largest skiing and snowboarding areas in the world with 207 lifts and 650km of marked pistes and nursery slopes. Morzine is renowned for being a popular family resort and perfect for all abilities ranging from beginner to expert.

Let us introduce ourselves, we are Gerald and Valerie and have two grown up daughters. We have been skiing in the Portes du Soleil region for over 15 years and spent many a summer holiday here too. We all absolutely adore Morzine and everything it has to offer. From skiing in the winter to the fantastic walks in the summer. There are activities here to keep the most energetic person busy, or there is peace and tranquillity for those more relaxing moments. To us Morzine is the place to be.

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Chalet La Salle"

My family and I stayed at Chalet La Salle over Christmas this year and had a fantastic time. The chalet is very nicely decorated and has a homely / cosy feel to it.

I found Val & Gerald to be very helpful throughout our stay and the booking process; I emailed Val several times and she was very quick to respond. Val helped me to organise our airport transfers, find a restaurant for our chef's night off (Restaurant Le Clin d'Oeil which was amazing), offered to pick up our ski passes from the ticket office....she even picked us up some bottles of alcohol so we could have a well deserved drink when we arrived!

The only slight downside is that the chalet is a 10 minute drive out of the centre of Morzine although Val & Gerald were kind enough to take us to and from the mountain every day so it didn't pose too much of a problem. There is a bus service which operates in the area for those who want to go home earlier or later also.

We opted to have a chef come in to make our breakfast and evening meal which I would also highly recommend (a company called Chalet Chefs).

All in all we had a lovely time and would definitely book the chalet again!

Chalet la Salle is 5 mins drive from the centre of Morzine and in a peaceful village. The chalet has been recently tastefully renovated and therefore has all new appliances, kitchen and decor etc. Bathrooms were very clean and there was plenty of hot water. There are really comfortable sofas for after a day's skiing/snowboarding! We were 4 adults and a toddler, and the owners accommodated by providing a cot and high chair for free, and there is a bath in the downstairs bathroom. The stairs inside are steep as Val (the owner) pointed out to us, but this wasn't a problem for us (we put the cot in one of the downstairs rooms), although for an elderly party, or if toddlers were in the upstairs room or mezzanine I appreciate this would be more difficult. As the downstairs is open plan, there is a nice spacious feel, but not at the cost of the warm chalet atmosphere that you expect. There is parking space immediately outside the front door, so lifting shopping and skis in is easy, and there is loads of space for skis and boots in the hallway cupboards. There isn't a big private outside space, but there is a nice long balcony running the width of the chalet with lovely views. We didn't use the pre-arrival shopping service but did get bread delivered on a couple of days which was very useful. Val and Gerald were very welcoming and helpful with quick responses to our emails before the holiday too - we had a great time and would recommend Chalet La Salle...

Great propoerty, Great Location and Great People

Living on the ground floor, Val and Gerald were a fantastic help with local information and places to visit. The property itself was really nice, and the location beautiful, although you would need a car to stay here even though its only a few miles to Morzine. There are facilities in the proprty for cooking etc and BBQ. Could do with a washing machine though!.There are so many places to visit - like the white water rafting, fantasticable (zip wire), try the buggy and dry tobogganing at Chantel lift. Cascade TreeTops adventure was probably the best!

There are beaches along the south coast of Lake Geneva and locally there is swimming in the lakes.


The apartment is 1hr 20mins from the nearest airport of Geneva and a 8hr drive from Calais. The nearest train station is either Cluses or Thonon Les Baines approximately 40 minutes away.


The centre of Morzine and its ski lifts are only a few minutes drive away as are several other access points in the Portes du Soleil area. There is a ski bus stop no further than 200m from the apartment.

Why not visit Morzine in the summer, there is so much going on after the snow has gone. There are numerous festivals, rallies and sporting events taking place, plus all the sports activities which include, mountain biking, rock climbing, rafting, canyoning, parapenting, trekking, ice hockey, swimming and golf. You could use Morzine as your base and take a look at what's on offer just a short drive away, there are so many picturesque places of interest, or just chill out and recouperate in these beautiful surroundings!

Booking Notes:
A 25% non refundable deposit will secure the booking, if after 7 days we do not receive this deposit we will assume that you no longer require this booking and we will offer it as available without further notification. The remaining balance will be due 8 weeks prior to the start of your vacation along with a damage bond of £300. The damage bond will be returned in full within 7 days less any deductions for damages or any extra cleaning needed. All payments to be made by bank transfer.

Changeover Day:
Our preferred changeover day is Saturday/Sunday, but we can be flexible with other days.

We take a 25% non returnable deposit to secure your dates and the balance is due 8 weeks before the start of your vacation along with a £300.00 damage bond which will be returned within 7 days of departure less any monies for any damages and any extra cleaning that may be required. All payment to be made by bank transfer.
