Stunning villa with stunning views
We have worked hard on the Villa from the first time we found the plot so we really appreciate your feedback and are happy you had such enjoyment from it. We also have a bigger villa further up the mountain so maybe you can stay there next time.
About the Owner
Welcome! My name is Michelle and my partner is Mel. We have travelled far and wide in search for the perfect spot in which to spend more time. We discovered Islamlar with its breath taking views and unspoilt way of life and sophisticated Kalkan which is a short distance away. We realised we had found an idyllic place. In July 2011 Mountainside Retreat Villa was born. We love the area so much we then built a smaller traditional Mountain Villa ready for 2015! Ref: tk 4685. A haven to escape from the stress of everyday life. I also run Yoga Retreats at the larger villa with a special programme for deep relaxation and time out. Please enquire if interested. Please do ring with any queries regarding the villas!
Michelle purchased this villa in 2014
Why Michelle chose Lycian & Turquoise Coast
Mountain Villa is off the beaten track in a unique setting nestling into the mountains, which is why we chose it . Every window has a view of the stunning scenery, there is a sense of being with nature. Various forms of wildlife have been seen including a regular visit from a tortoise.
We love the area because there is so much to explore from world heritage sights, ancient ruins to quad biking or simply catching the sun rays at the famous sandy Patara beach. The villa has views of Kalkan Bay. We can travel for miles without seeing other cars which is bliss.
We feel the villa has the best of both worlds with its privacy and quietness yet a short drive to Kalkan and many other areas, we love this contrast.
What makes this villa unique
The benefits of staying here include the privacy of your own infinity pool and the stillness surrounding you. It is so theraupeutic to be amidst nature and find your 'senses' again....that is before unwinding with a glass of wine and watching the dramatic sunsets :-)
A car is recommended and we can help with this. It is then five minutes to local restaurants and village shops. The location is particularly spectacular and the word that comes to me when I lay by the pool is 'paradise'.... it is certainly suitable for Honeymooners.
The village people are so friendly and helpful. We also have a brilliant English speaking Manager and nothing is too much trouble for him and his team.

Stunning villa with stunning views
We stayed here with our two boys (13 & 10) for three glorious weeks and we couldn't have chosen a more perfect villa to enable us to totally unwind from our busy lives. We hired a car from Dalaman airport and drove an hour and a half to Kalkan (D400 all the way, very easy). The villa has the most breathtaking views from its elevated position in the village of Islamlar, around a further 10 minute drive from Kalkan. Beautifully constructed, clean and well maintained with everything you require for your stay. You do need to be fit and able-bodied to cope with the steep climb up to the villa, but its worth every step. You are rewarded with the wow factor! The villa layout worked perfectly for us as we stayed downstairs with our sons (double room with en-suite & twin room with separate bathroom). The boys grandparents joined us for part of our stay and had the stunning master suite, allowing them their own private space as its accessed via an external staircase. The infinity pool was enjoyed very much by us all, as was the shaded outside dining area and BBQ. However you can't beat the peace and quiet. It was just wonderful -nothing but the sound of nature and our boys having fun in the pool. Michelle answered all our questions quickly and was very pleasant to deal with. As were the local management company who were very attentive during out stay. During our stay we enjoyed a private boat trip from Kalkan, Oludeniz Water World, Kas, Kaputus beach and river kayaking on the Xanthos river plus much more. We love Turkey and the Turkish people and we would love to return in the future. We highly recommend, you will not be disappointed if you choose Michelle's villa.
Absolutely love this place
My family and I have been to this villa for the last 2 years and plan on booking up for next year. The villa is in such a beautiful, peaceful location and is complete with all the little extras you could possibly want. The views are absolutely stunning, you cannot beat it. It's only a short drive into Kalkan too where the beaches are absolutely stunning. Can't wait to go back for the third time.
Amazing views overlooking the mountains
We stayed at this beautiful property with our 3 children (9yo,6yo and 11 months) and had a wonderful, relaxing time. The villa itself is tucked away in the mountains, just a short drive from the centre of Kalkan and what amazing views we had.The children loved spending time in the pool and we loved exploring the local shops and markets and interacting with the local people during our stay.We went on a boat trip to the sunken city and the children spent most of the day snorkelling off the side of the boat, turtle and fish spotting. The villa was clean and cool and well equipped for our needs. We had an amazing stay and are looking to book again in the future.
Amazing villa, great holiday!
We had a wonderful time staying at Villa Mountain. The villa is in very peaceful surroundings and we managed to get beautiful sunshine from first thing in the morning until late afternoon even though it was autumn! Sunsets were beautiful and at night time the star-lit sky was stunning. Because we had great weather we were really able to take advantage of the outside area which was perfect for us. For those who come in summer there is a wonderful shaded eating area. Inside, the villa itself has everything you need. Our bedrooms were tastefully decorated with a lot of thought to the finish and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The living space was nicely laid out and had lovely finishing touches. There is plenty to do within a short drive but we were equally happy to just "hang out" at the villa. This villa was perfect and enabled us to have a really wonderful holiday in this very special place. Its worth mentioning the final bit of the drive to the villa is quite steep but is well worth it, because the views are spectacular! Definately highly recommended.
