Stunning woodland location

  • 5 of 5

A fantastic stay for our family of 5 (including 3 children) at this lovely cottage. Woodland setting was both private and pretty - it was especially lovely being able to lie in bed and watch the autumn leaves drift past the roof windows. We arrived in the dark after a long drive, and it was wonderful to come in to a lit fire and a well stocked welcome basket. Sharon was a great host, and the cottage has many thoughtful touches. Local area had plenty to see and do. We particuarly enjoyed a day at Glamis Castle (the Queen Mother's childhood home), which had an excellent guided tour, along with a great playground and grounds. We also enjoyed a drive along the coast to the spectacular Dunnottar Castle.

The Perfect Property

  • 5 of 5

Monument Cottage is a brilliantly appointed property in a beautiful location...we wouldn't hesitate to recommend! We have 2 dogs so loved being able to walk them off the lead in the surrounding woodland straight from the door. The property itself is tranquil, clean, cozy and we didnt want for anything. Huge thank you for the very generous welcome pack! We certainly plan to return.

The property is beautiful, set in a wood, secluded, with a real luxurious back to nature feel.

  • 5 of 5

We were absolutely delighted to stay here. The house was warm, comfortable and spotless, whilst holding a hotel style feeling. It’s location is superb, with a back to nature feeling because of its position within the wood. It is extremely spacious with generous size bedrooms and a lovely sun room that looks out on to the garden and into the wood. We stayed here as a family with 3 children - who loved to explore the woods - and will definitely stay here again. Superb service all round. Thank you.

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

We had a long drive from Wiltshire to Angus so it was a lovely surprise to have lights on, a welcome pack of fresh bread, tea, marmalade, eggs milk crackers cheese coffee wine all you need to have a bite to eat and a drink to relax it was very much appreciated.

The cottage is very homely with all equipment and more you will need. It was very clean fresh and bright. The dogs had a lovely time in the woods lots of walks.

Sharon had given us directions to the cottage which enabled us to find it very easily. The holiday we had at the cottage was excellent and I look forward to booking another stay in the future.

thank you sharon

kind regards

brilliant hideaway with all the luxury thrown in

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is great, it is tucked away in the middle of a forest but it has all you need on site for a marvelous break.

There is a Sainsbury superstore 15 mins towards Dundee which is 25 mins away. The cottage was very clean and the welcome pack was the best we have had.

Sharon and Dave were brilliant (helping with lifts to Dundee)

Thanks for a great week.

Very secluded and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is in an excellent location for getting around Angus and into Dundee. It is surrounded by dense mysterious woodlands, and also very close to Monikie country park.

We had a very enjoyable get-together for six adults and a dog. The kitchen was very well equipped and cosy for meal times. The bedrooms were very quiet and sleep inducing!

Monifieth was only minutes away for Tesco shopping, as was Sainsbury's in Dundee. Fish and chips were still warm on return from Murray's in Broughty Ferry.

Altogether excellent get-away cottage location.
