Cottage in Westerdale, Nr. Whitby, North Yorkshire Moors, England - A Peaceful Setting Surrounded By Lovely Scenery
The coach House was built in 1845 and has many original features. It has a cosy log burning stove in the large lounge as well as oil fired central heating throughout. The large lounge has a TV with free view and there are plenty of DVDs, books and games. There is a dining area in the lounge and the spacious kitchen is well equipped. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms with double beds and one single bedroom with single bed with pull out bed underneath. The bathroom has bath with shower over, wc, and hand basin. Outside there is a large garden to the rear with lawn and flower beds and a seating area with garden furniture. The courtyard area to the front has plenty of secure parking.

The very best place we have ever stayed! We regularly rent self catering accommodation in North Yorkshire and across the UK. We have never come across somewhere we liked more. The home is comfortable, well equipped and lovely. A haven of peace and quiet in a perfect setting. Our dogs loved the garden and we loved being able to relax and watch them play. Thank-you for an enjoyable stay.

Such a beautiful place. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous and all the little "extra touches" were much appreciated. This has been the perfect place for our break away with 3 dogs. It was such a pleasure to come back each evening to this beautiful place after a full day out. We look forward to returning one day.

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your wonderful cottage. It's beautiful, well equipped and has a fantastic garden! We had a great holiday, enjoying the log fire, peace and quiet, while the teenagers were kept happy with the wifi and Paul (aged 9) and Fergus entertained each other in the garden. All the thoughtful "little extras" were really appreciated and made our stay very comfortable. Thank you Trish for your warm and friendly welcome! We hope to return next year.

A beautiful location and such a lovely cottage. Lots of lovely touches too, we have had a very special time. Dogs very much enjoyed the area walking ect...Would love to come again. Our purpose was to run the Saltburn Marathon - which we did happily without mishap and a third place for one of our party! The cottage was a refuge after, to rest and recuperate and launch walks, visits to pubs, the sea and much besides. Thank you for making us so welcome. We will recommend the cottage to friends and family.

Lovely cottage in a peaceful location
This cottage is ideal for anyone looking for a traditional cottage in a really quiet and scenic location. Fabulous welcome pack on arrival with cake n treats and both the cottage and gardens are lovely. Easy travelling distance to the coast and great walks on the doorstep. Both us and the dogs loved it, we didnt even bother going out in the evenings, just stoked the wood burner up and relaxed.
Excellent Weekend Break
Excellent, quiet location, ideal for counrty walks and fresh air.
Cottage fully equipt although we prefered to eat out the kitchen had everything you needed.
Didn't use the log fire as the heating was fine but again the option was there with plenty of logs.
Room in the yard for both cars and massive garden for the dogs to run around.
The village as little in it but both the Lion a couple of miles away on the moors or the village pub in Castleton were excellent for both food and cost.
Fantastic few days at the Coachouse in Westerdale
My husband and I and my parents had a wonderful time in Westerdale. The location is idyllic, quiet and very beautiful. The house itself is well equipped, spacious and cosy in the evenings with the log burner roaring. Trish was very helpful and we knew she was on hand should we have needed assistance. Margaret even made a lovely chocolate cake for my mother's 80th birthday which was so thoughtful. Overall, a great holiday and I will recommend to anyone. Thank you.
Wonderful cottage in beautiful setting
We found this cottage was a great place to stay in the lovely, peaceful, remote village of Westerdale. Although the pictures are good, they really don't show how nice the cottage is. It feels very homely and comfortable with lots of soft lighting and small lamps around making it very romantic. The log fire just adds to the cosiness. Although old it has all the modern amenities you need and has been modernised to maintain its character. The beds are really comfortable with crisp white bedlinen, carpets all clean and modern throughout, the bathroom is large with lots of thick fluffy towels and it is very private as although next to the owners accommodation, it has its own walled courtyard which is not overlooked, its own gate access and private large rear garden. Everything is very clean and well maintained and lots of nice plants about. The windows are traditional old metal lattice stained glass, and really give character.
Everything is well organised and we received a very warm welcome on arrival and lovely goodie hamper, which went down well.
Would highly recommend this cottage as we loved it!
From the Owner
“The reason for buying the Coach House was that it was in the grounds of Westerdale Hall which is a building of great interest. Also the remoteness of the village means it is a tranquil retreat with spectacular views.”
