This spacious Duplex 2 Bedroom Apartment known as the Vine Apartment is perfect for singles, couples or even families. The apartment has been tastefully designed to ensure that you are comfortable with air-conditioning included.

There is a one spacious master bedroom with en-suite with walk in wardrobe on the first floor, & a twin bedroom with two single beds & wardrobe on the second floor. The kitchen has been fully equipped, including microwave, kettle, large fridge freezer and is open plan. The living room features a 2 & 3 seaer sofa & for entertainment there is a large widescreen Flat panel TV with SAT TV (English & French). For your dining experiences you can take advantage of a 6 seater long dining table in the dining area, or you can enjoy the large round table with adjustable parasol seating 4-6 people on the large private garden terrace. The terrace also features a large Plancha BBQ.

This is a charming 200 year old stone Barn conversion which has been restored with all the comforts afforded to modern living, whilst creating a welcoming home from home feeling and retaining much of its French country charm with stone feature walls, wooden beams and rafters.

The two properties, known as the Vine Apartment & the Ivy Apartment has undergone a major re-decoration in 2015. These luxury properties are situated in a lively rural area in the village of Ventenac en Minervois, which is itself, a small unspoiled village on the edge of the Canal du Midi and set within the Minervois Vineyards and can be rented short or long term. The beautiful village of Ventenac en Minervois boasts a beautiful Château & a Wine Cave, which includes a Wine museum. The Wine Château also features a shop for tasting and purchasing your local wine. The village also features 2 good restaurants with large outside dining areas, both of which specialises in BBQ delights cooked over the Vineyards vine pruning wood to add a unique flavour to your chicken, fish, pork or other foods. Both restaurants share panoramic views and are located on the edge of the Canal du Midi, giving you a pleasant dining experience, whilst watching the canal boats and pleasure barges go by.

The Canal du Midi is a beautiful tree lined canal with tow paths that afford some great walks and cycle rides. There is a small bakery located in the village, with a good selection of larger shops and supermarkets only 5 minutes away. Ventenac-en-Minervois, is ideally located and in close proximity to the sea and mountains, so you can easily fully explore this unspoilt region of the South of France. The beautiful beaches and the Mediterranean sea are just a short 35 minute drive away or why not spend your time touring some of the many wine domains of the region and tasting the excellent local wines.

About Carol

We are a family of 4 and have always loved the South of France. So we set off in the beginning of 2007 and to our delight we managed to find this charming stone barn conversion on the Canal du Midi. The village has all the amenities that you need such as a local shop, 2 superb Restaurants & a lovely Wine Château.

The Ivy Apartment is perfect for singles or couples, and is fully air-conditioned. The Ivy is well equipped with all the essentials you may need. The apartment features SAT TV (English & French), a large fridge freezer, microwave oven, Gas Cooker, toaster, Coffee machine, kettle, and all the kitchen utensils you may need. Most importantly, when it comes to a good nights sleep, you will be delighted to know that the mattresses have been carefully selected to help guarantee the perfect nights sleep.

The location of the property is perfect for exploring & taking advantage of the outside activities. The beauty about the Aude is that you are right in the heart of the Minervois region, which of course is well known for its Wine.The great thing about this lively village is that it is situated on the Canal du Midi, which itself is a World Heritage site. A well known fact about France, is the great road infrastructure, so a day out at the beach only requires a 35 minute drive. If however, you love skiing or trekking, the Montagnes Noire (Black Mountains), is only a 20 minute journey away.

We make sure that you have plenty of information, brochures and leaflets so that you can plan your perfect holiday.

Notes on accommodation: The Vine Apartment has recently been newly renovated to the highest standards. No expense was spared when ensuring customer comforts. The Vine has reversible heating making bookings possible even during the colder months. Attention to details was at the forefront when equipping these apartments. Outside: The Vine Apartment features a beautiful private garden terrace. There is a wonderful array of plants and bushes with a BBQ and outdoor dining table and chairs. Vine Apartment has its own access through large double gates, leading up to the first floor.

Spacious apartment in pretty little village

We stayed for one week in the Vine Apartment in June. The apartment is spacious, very clean and has most of what you need. Would comfortably accommodate 4 adults It is, like so many others, an old converted barn with a lot of the old details intact. High ceilings, wooden beams etc, very charming with a "homey" feel. Note that the apartment is located on the second floor with a rather steep and narrow staircase leading up to it. The apartment itself is also on two floors with a steep staircase.There are two bedrooms, one twin and one with two single beds (2nd floor) The twin bedroom has an ensuite shower room (no toilet) and there is a second bathroom on the second floor. There is also a separate toilet on the first floor. Comfortable beds. Nice kitchen with microwave oven, fridge, coffee maker, toaster, stove etc. There is also a small dishwasher. Had what you needed for the occasional meal in, but not for any advanced cooking. Excellent wifi. TV with English channels. Air conditioning unit in the kitchen/dining room area which we appreciated a lot although the apartment remained quite cool during the day even with it off (it was a warm week)! There is a very nice and private terrace with table, chairs, parasol and a so called plancha barbeque (gas). The property is on a narrow street (one way) with parking on one side. Ventenac is a pretty little village right along the Canal du Midi,very quiet, has two restaurants and a tiny grocery store open 0800-1230 every day where you can buy fresh bread (both restaurants and grocery store 5 min walk from the house). We went to Carrefour or Géant in Narbonne for most of our grocery shopping (20-30 min drive away). Carol, the owner, lives next door with her two dogs. She was very accommodating and pleasant and was eager to make us feel comfortable. She welcomed us with a bottle of local wine which was a nice gesture! She had prepared a booklet with lots of general information as well as tips on things to do and see in the vicinity which was very helpful as well. Lots of things to see and do within short driving distance, beautiful area, we will definitely be back! Thanks, Carol!

Great village location

We had a splendid two weeks staying in the Vine apartment, an ideal size for a family and perfect for us with two separate bathrooms as we had a teenager with us who liked his own space!

The apartment is furnished to a very high standard and was very clean. We loved the outdoor terrace and used the plancha bbq a number of times. We also visited the two restaurants a number of times during our stay.

We brought bikes with us and there was plenty of space to store them, the apartment was ideally located for cycling along the canal. We visited Melo Velo bike hire in Paraza and would certainly hire from them next time we visit.

The apartment is well situated to coast or Carcassone or Minerve. There is so much to see and do here! We can't wait to return,

Fabulous cottage, everything you could wish for in a beautiful location.

We had a wonderful couple of weeks exploring Languedoc. The cottage was superb, very comfortable and had everything we needed and more. The Air Con was very welcome as we were blessed with fabulous weather. The BBQ was also a great asset. Great scenery and surroundings and plenty of beautiful places to explore. Magnifique séjour à Ventenac sur Minervois

Appartement très propre et bien équipé, une belle terrasse avec BBQ, lieu calme au coeur d'un petit village typique de la région, propriétaire sympathique, château à deux pas où l'on peut faire des dégustations du vin de la région, à proximité du Canal du Midi et du très joli village de Somail (patrimoine mondial de l'Unesco), location de bicyclettes à proximité de même que 2 bons restaurants à 5 minutes à pied.

A very comfortable apartment in a beautiful area
