3 Bedroom House With Garden And Parking In The Heart Of The Lakeland Village Of Windermere

Overview

Property

Updated: 24-Nov-2016
3 Bedroom House in the Lakeland Village of Windremere, Cumbria - Central Location, Huge Choice of Restaurants, Bars & Shops, Perfect for Exploring the Lake District

Kids will sleep well in our cosy beds after an adventurous fun filled day out in the Lake District. With so much on offer to thrill and entertain your children you'll understand why people come back year after year to this beautiful part of the world. With something to suit every pocket and age group; from breath-taking scenic walks and relaxing lakeshore picnics, to adrenalin pumping zips wires and water skiing. The Lake District has it all and more, and our holiday home is the perfect base for your holiday memories to be made.

Situated in the village of Windermere in the National Park, the house is a great base from which to explore the beautiful Lake District. The house is just up the hill from Bowness-on-Windermere and Lake Windermere itself, the largest and most vibrant of the 17 lakes and only a stones throw from the other lakes. The village itself is just at the end of the road; a lively bustling village with a variety of bars, restaurants, shops and pubs

This 3 bedroom house in Windermere has a sunny garden and off road parking. Having a double bedroom with a king size bed, another with two singles and a third bedroom with bunk beds, it is perfect for families or a small group of friends. There is a spacious bathroom with a shower over the bath and there is also a downstairs toilet. The cosy front room has an open fire, and the light and bright kitchen diner is fully equipped with everything you might need to help you refuel ready for your next adventure. There is a drying room for boots and wet gear and a second outhouse with a washing machine and tumble dryer. The garden has a lovely sunny decking area equipped with table, chairs, parasol and BBQ; perfect for making the most of the long sunny summer evenings. Parking is a premium in this area, so having it's own parking at the rear of the property is a real bonus. The bus stop at the end of the road can take you all over the Lake District, so you can abandon the car for the week if you wish. Also the train station is only a 5 minute walk if you want to leave the car behind altogether. You are just a short stroll from the village with it's restaurants and bars; or you can wonder down to the lake shore and enjoy an open water swim or a picnic. Put your boots on at the back door and take a walk up Orrest Head and enjoy the famous view. Or you can choose to walk further onto other famous walks such as the Dales Way, Kentmere Horseshoe and the Cambrian Way.

Great clean house in a great area

  • 5 of 5

Me and 2 friends stayed here for a long weekend hiking, we loved the house, it was big and very clean with plenty of areas to store our stuff! There was milk in the fridge on arrival and plenty of towels for us to use. The house was very nice and clean and great heating system too. Will definitely be back in the future!!

Super Home from Home

  • 5 of 5

My family and I really enjoyed our stay in this superb house. It is in a great location and the facilities are spot on. We were able to walk from the house down to Bowness and into Windermere without worrying about car parking.

The house was very clean and well maintained and the kitchen well stocked with dish washer tablets and rinse aid provided, also dishcloths and teatowels. The numerous bath towels were lovely - clean, fluffy and like new.

The three bedrooms are very comfortable, clean and bright. All the bedding was beautifully clean, crisp and smelled lovely. The bathroom is spacious and modern. The kitchen, although small, is well equipped with modern oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. Downstairs is very tidy and comfortable.

With parking for two cars and outside space for eating and playing this house was ideal for our needs. Plenty of room for four adults, two children and one baby. There was a stock of tea, coffee and sugar, milk in the fridge and lollipops for the children.

The owner gave good clear directions and instructions on the house before hand and the use of the key safe was a bonus.

I certainly hope to use this property again and would recommend it to anyone.

Thank you Catherine for a lovely holiday home.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

This is an absolutely splendid holiday home in the Lakes. You are a 25 minute walk away from Bowness Pier and short drives take you to Ambleside and Kendal. The local shops (including a Co-op) are around the corner along with a range of restaurants. Cathy and Martin are thoughtful owners and covered all our needs. The After Eights, Milk, Tea, Coffee on arrival were much appreciated. The house is impeccable in all respects and we would definitely stay there the next time we visit.

We can recommend this property. It was clean, well equipped and in a fantastic location. We felt very comfortable here. The information on a couple of little local walks was a nice touch as we probably would have overlooked these. Having looked at other properties I would also say the price was very reasonable. Overall, great, and we hope to be back.

Warm and cosy house in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Our family (4 adults and 2 children) thoroughly enjoyed our time in this holiday home during the Christmas holidays. It was warm, cosy and very comfortable, with everything provided to make our stay enjoyable.

The location of the house is very convenient, with a 5 minute walk into Windermere or 20 minutes down to the lake at Bowness.

Would recommend this house to anybody planning a visit to the south Lakes area.

Simply Splendid

  • 5 of 5

First impressions can make or break a holiday experience, especially with accommodation. Not so No.18 Ellertwaite. It is a spacious, well laid out property with plenty of light and comfortable furniture. The facilities available are more than enough for a self catering stay and the kitchen area is more than adequate to cook-up a descent meal. The only thing I would say is that if like me you use an electric shaver bring an adaptor plug as I couldn't find one in the bathroom.

The location is excellent, only 5 minutes walk into Windemere.

So in summary a big thumbs up from the family and me. Thank you.
