Ideally situated on the sea front, across the road is a small rocky bay and it is only a minute walk to the beach and Beadnell Bay. There is a large enclosed back garden and a paved area at the front for parking with gates

Lovely house with plenty of space, well equipped and with great views. Suited all ages. Fantastic centre for Northumberland beaches. Lovely little local shop and very nice village cafe. A really good all round holiday.

Benthall House is spacious, clean and very comfortable. A real home from home.

We had the pleasure of staying at Benthall House for a family holiday recently. Six of us ranging in ages from 10 - 82 stayed for a week. Wow! what can I say? A superb holiday stay in a beautiful location.

The house is very spacious and extremely well equipped with everything you could think of, including dog towels! In fact the dogs were very well catered for and had a fabulous time :-) Thank you for the dog treats.

The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. It was lovely listening to the sea as I was drifting off to sleep.

The kitchen was well appointed and apart from 2 occasions we cooked and ate there, before an evening stroll on the beach.

We had stayed in Beadnell the previous year and so revisited some favourite places like SeaHouses, Lindisfarne and Cragside ( well worth a visit and National trust too). We also visited Craster for Kippers, Bamburgh castle and Alnwick. There is plenty to do. The children loved the beach across the road, climbing on the rocks and searching in rock pools and our 2 dogs and I enjoyed our daily, early morning walk on the sandy beach.

We really had a superb stay and didn't want to leave. Samantha and her family obviously care about their properties and visitors. The welcome cake, biscuits and wine were lovely and went down very well indeed - thank you. We will certainly return and have recommended the property and area to our friends and family.

felt like home from home , brilliant

We were met by Brian who showed us all the facilities and a lovely homemade cake and biscuits

We thoroughly enjoyed our weeks holiday at Benthall House , the home was well equipped with everything we needed and more

nice and clean and most comfortable, Ideally situated for the beaches and local amenities, pubs etc , great for anyone who would like to visit Northumberland and local coastal areas

We will recommend this home as a great holiday home

So spacious

We stayed at Benthall House recently for a family holiday to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday – six adults, one toddler and a large dog.

The house was ideal for our needs – plenty of space for us to spread out and only two minutes’ walk to the beach. The kitchen diner had everything we needed so we only ate out once the whole week. (The Craster Arms - vg).

The beds were very comfortable and the showers had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. We’ve had many family holidays where either the beds, the showers or both were far from perfect so we all gave full marks for this!

Plenty of seating both inside and out and safety gates on the stairs. Having a dog with us, the utility room was very useful for preparing his food and drying him off after he’d been in the sea. The washer was also made good use of, but we didn’t need the dryer as the weather was so good.

The welcome pack was a lovely touch – wine, cake, biscuits and even dog treats. We didn’t get to use the barbecue as, although the weather was fair, it wasn’t quite warm enough but we took the folding chairs, windbreak and beach towels to the beach each day with a picnic.

Seahouses is a ten minute drive (or half hour walk) away with a great greengrocers and a well-stocked Co-op. There are plenty of cafes, restaurants and take-aways there too.

We took Sam’s recommendation and booked a caterer for the birthday meal. I had some reservations as we’d never done anything like that before, but Adele and her daughter were fantastic. Very organised and friendly, they prepared wonderful food (with enough leftovers for a meal the following day) washed up and left us with coffee and home-made truffles. So much more relaxing than trying to get a toddler and dog to behave in a restaurant!

We’ve visited this area before so we took the opportunity to revisit Lindisfarne, Alnmouth and Alnwick (excellent butcher and of course Barter Books). Mostly though we were content to sit in the garden or on the beach and relax.

I would definitely recommend Benthall House to anyone visiting this area with a large party of people and we hope to be back ourselves before too long.

Booked a long weekend for family celebrations, ideal that we could stay Fri-Tues to give us a bit of extra time. The house was immaculate, and spacious and loved sitting on the balcony watching the world go by. Great views and easy access to the beach. It was close to local attractions-had a trip to the Farne Islands, Bamburgh, Lindisfarne and then Alnwick gardens on the way home.

Plenty of amenities in the kitchen (3 teapots!) and in the house in general-games, books and blankets (for when sitting on the balcony). A 2nd fridge always useful for the alcohol supplies). Had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Joiners Arms

The whole process of booking was easy and Sam very helpful (especially when I had forgotten the key code) . Appreciated the welcome pack of cake, biscuits and of course wine!

I would definitely recommend it to friends and hope to be back again

Spacious and comfortable house with lovely sea views

We stayed here for a long weekend and didn't want to leave! The house was spacious, giving plenty of space for 4 adults and 4 teens to chill out and the beds were comfortable. This was also a very good location - quiet with lovely views to the sea and only a short walk to Beadnell Bay and to the Craster Arms (very good food). It didn't take long to get to Lindisfarne or Alnwick Castle, both excellent places to visit. Finally the welcome cake and wine was a lovely touch - thank you Sam.

We have three other holiday cottages in Beadnell and love the village and Beadnell Bay. Benthall House appealed to us as it is right on the sea front, only a minutes walk from the beach

Nearest Airport : Newcastle at 39 Miles Nearest Barpub : The Craster Arms/ Beadnell Towers at 0.8 Miles Nearest Ferry : North Shields at 50 Miles Nearest Golf : Seahouses at 2 Miles Nearest Train : Chathill at 3 Miles Nearest Motorway : A1 at 6 Miles Nearest Restaurant : The Craster Arms/ Beadnell Towers at 0.8 Miles Nearest Beach : Beadnell Bay at 200 Metres Car: recommended


1 minutes walk to beach. There is a pebbly beach directly opposite the house and further down the road is Beadnell Bay

The Village's harbour lies at the North end of the bay and from there the beach, backed by huge dunes of sand, stretches South for miles.

Beadnell is well known for water sports and there are many activities centres available.

Further along the coast you will find the bustling town of Seahouses and the fabulous beaches of Bamburgh and Ross Sands


The nearest airport is Newcastle international, which is located approximately

45 miles to the South

By road the House is approximately 6 miles from the A1 and approximately 50 miles North of Newcastle.


Beadnell Village and Bay is an approx 1 minute walk

Seahouses is 2 miles along the coastal route

The Farne Islands are based off the Northumberland Coastline and are accessible by boat trips from Seahouses

Bamburgh is 5 miles along the coastal route

The Historic town of Alnwick is 13 miles and the border town of Berwick upon Tweed is 23 miles

Further Details:

Beadnell village has two pubs which serve good food and allow dogs. There is also a fish and chip shop and a small village shop for your supplies. Further along to the busier Seahouses town there are many cafes, bars and restaurants. Seahouses also has a large Co-op supermarket. Your nearest Sainsburys is in Alnwick located just off the A1.

There are many activity centres around the Northumberland area which offer all types of water sports such as sea kayaking, kite surfing, paddle boarding and coast steering etc.

Many of the larger supermarkets such as Asda and Sainsburys deliver to the house and the postcode is NE67 5JQ

We can also organise in house catering for special events, welcome meals etc
