Benthall House at 4 Benthall Farm is in addition to our other three properties in Beadnell - Shepherds Cottage, The Bothy and Shepherds Lodge(Ref: E10292) Benthall House is a large detached house with sea views. Ideally situated on the sea front, across the road is a small rocky bay and it is only a minute walk to the beach and Beadnell Bay. There is a large enclosed back garden and a paved area at the front for parking with gates

About Samantha Smith

Hi, my name is Samantha and I own 4 holiday homes with my mum, dad and brothers. I live in Morpeth Northumberland with my husband and 2 boys.

We have Shepherds Cottage, The Bothy in the Garden, Shepherds Lodge and Benthall House Ref: E17847

We are very fortunate as we are only 40 minutes from the cottages and love to stay there when we get the chance.

We have three other holiday cottages in Beadnell and love the village and Beadnell Bay. Benthall House appealed to us as it is right on the sea front, only a minutes walk from the beach

What makes this house unique

The house is on the sea front with fabulous views from the upstairs balcony. It is walking distance to the beach and to the shop. There are also two pubs in the village with are within easy walking distance

Spacious, welcoming, clean and homely

A group of seven of us plus a toddler have just stayed for the weekend. We were in the area for a friend's wedding and chose the house mainly due to location, but we would all happily visit again for a holiday in its own right.

The welcome from Steve was warm and friendly, and informative. The cake you very kindly left us was delicious and a real treat! All of the rooms were comfortable and very nice and the whole house was in great condition and clean. The kitchen was well-stocked with equipment and there was plenty of storage space. There were lots of nice touches (the books and board games were great!) and the location was fantastic - beautiful sea views from the lounge. It was a bit chilly to make use of the balcony, but what an amazing addition that would be in summer.

The house was warm and extremely comfortable for our group. I know the couple with the toddler appreciated the extra sitting space downstairs (they were up rather earlier than the rest of us!). All of our correspondence before the stay was prompt and very helpful.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the property and hope we can make it back up for a visit at some point.

Lovely location and wonderful property

Met and showed around property by one of the owners. A homemade Cake to greet us was scrummy and wine and milk very welcome. Lots of space in the house with everything you could need for 6 adults 2 children and 4 dogs.2 min walk to a sandy beach and crashing wave beach straight opposite. Perfect. It was too cold to use the terrace even with the piles of throws left for guests to use. A shame as it looked ideal to have a sundowner whilst watching the sea.

I'd love to come back in the summer but recommend it for any time of year.

Fantastic Xmas

We were delighted to find a house for our family Christmas holiday on the stunning , unspoilt North East coast which was also 'dog friendly' however when we arrived at Benthall House it far surpassed our expectations. 

Benthall House was attractively & thoughtfully prepared for Christmas by Sam, the approachable & caring owner.  The accommodation is of a very good standard has a great layout for family/group leisure & fun.  The kitchen/dining/garden room works especially well.  The garden & driveway are very secure for children & dogs. 

Beautiful Beadnell Beach is right on the doorstep & along with other stunning beaches the area offers great restaurants, pubs, cafes & independent shops. 

All in all we enjoyed a wonderful family Christmas at Benthall House.

Great stay in fab location!

Lovely week in Beadnell at Benthall House. Perfect family house for 5 adults and 3 children. Well equipped and in a great location, just a minute from the beach with great sea view . Old village centre a short walk away - 2 pubs close by for food and drinks. Great welcome from the owners who had provided basic provisions and a lovely cake to welcome us.

Location is excellent for exploring the area- we visited Seahouses, Banburgh castle, low newton and its lovely beach and dunes, Craster and Dunstaburgh castle, Alnwick Gardens and the lovely Cragside. If you get chance visit the Craster seafood restaurant- gorgeous !! Book though ...

All in all a great week- weather held out and would be glad to revisit.

Lovely house with plenty of space, well equipped and with great views. Suited all ages. Fantastic centre for Northumberland beaches. Lovely little local shop and very nice village cafe. A really good all round holiday.

Benthall House is spacious, clean and very comfortable. A real home from home.

We had the pleasure of staying at Benthall House for a family holiday recently. Six of us ranging in ages from 10 - 82 stayed for a week. Wow! what can I say? A superb holiday stay in a beautiful location.

The house is very spacious and extremely well equipped with everything you could think of, including dog towels! In fact the dogs were very well catered for and had a fabulous time :-) Thank you for the dog treats.

The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. It was lovely listening to the sea as I was drifting off to sleep.

The kitchen was well appointed and apart from 2 occasions we cooked and ate there, before an evening stroll on the beach.

We had stayed in Beadnell the previous year and so revisited some favourite places like SeaHouses, Lindisfarne and Cragside ( well worth a visit and National trust too). We also visited Craster for Kippers, Bamburgh castle and Alnwick. There is plenty to do. The children loved the beach across the road, climbing on the rocks and searching in rock pools and our 2 dogs and I enjoyed our daily, early morning walk on the sandy beach.

We really had a superb stay and didn't want to leave. Samantha and her family obviously care about their properties and visitors. The welcome cake, biscuits and wine were lovely and went down very well indeed - thank you. We will certainly return and have recommended the property and area to our friends and family.
