About the property

Cottage in Shirenewton, Chepstow, South Wales, Wales - Perfect Location For Accessing The Wye Valley, Vale Of Usk, Cardiff And Bristol, Lovely Pub Nearby

The outstanding 4-star living accommodation is open-plan with a fitted kitchen area. The dining table seats 4 people comfortably.

Full 3D walkthrough available to view under the Facilities section.

The Studio benefits from a wooden floor and large-scale custom made and double-glazed timber framed windows and is decorated in muted Farrow & Ball greens and creams. Furnishing is in a modern country style. We have also fitted a brand-new luxury kitchen in May 2015 with all new appliances, which will hopefully make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The Studio is equipped with a flat screen Freeview television / DVD player (with iPod / MP3 connectivity) and a CD player / radio. There is a gas 'coal flame' stove to supplement the central heating and make for cosy nights in during winter.

A tiled internal entrance porch makes a good place to shed muddy boots and to hang coats. There is also a small patio area with a beautiful view of the church and the centre of the village. There is ample space to store bikes, either in the entrance porch (or we can provide additional space should it be required).

All bed linen, towels, gas, electricity and use of Studio washing machine are included. A cot and high chair are available upon request, with the option of a folding bed for a third occupant (by prior arrangement). Wireless internet can also be made available should it be required.

The Studio is annexed to our family home but with its own private entrance. As a family with young children we also recognise the needs of parents (and the value of some time alone for parents) so we would be happy to discuss any requirements you may have.

There is ample parking on the road outside the Studio. There is the possibility, by special arrangement with the owners only, of using an off-road parking space for 1 small-to-medium sized car. However the access to the off-road space is a little narrow and requires some manoeuvring.

We can accommodate 1 small dog (by prior arrangement only) but unfortunately no other pets. The Studio is strictly no smoking.

Beautiful studio in charming village

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at the property and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The studio has been renovated to a high standard, with beautiful furnishings and everything you might need for your stay - nothing hasn’t been considered.

The owners were welcoming and provided lots of information on things to do in the local and surrounding areas.

The village itself is lovely - very friendly, and a trip to the Tredegar Arms is recommended even if just to sample the extensive gin menu!

We loved our stay, and I’m sure we’ll be back!

Cosy Comfort!

  • 5 of 5

Just spent a week in this cosy Studio which oozes charm and allowed us to have a completely restful stay. Sarah greeted us on arrival to show us the property and made us feel very welcome and at home. The provision of the necessities for a cup of tea (with Welsh Cakes!) and the added bonus of wine and flowers were all lovely touches allowing us to relax within minutes of arrival.

The conversion producing 'The Studio' has been wonderfully creative, it provides extremely comfortable space and the property has been equipped with everything necessary for your stay. The all important bathroom facilities are truly excellent and the whole property was wonderfully clean throughout.

We can totally recommend The Studio for anyone in need of cosy and relaxed comfort.

Fantastic Studio!

  • 5 of 5

This really is a charming spacious open-plan studio, well furnished and fitted out with everything you'd need, situated in a quiet village with the local pub just a short walk away serving great food.

Shirenewton makes a great base for exploring the wonderfull Welsh countryside and attractions, highly recommended and would love to stay here again, as have many others going by the comments in the visitor's book.

Car: recommended

Bristol - 21 miles

Cardiff - 27 miles

Monmouth - 14 miles

Further Details:

The pretty stone-built village of Shirenewton is a excellent centre for exploring the Wye and Usk valleys, the Brecon Beacons and the Forest of Dean.

Although we are only 5 miles from the Severn Bridge (with fantastic access to Bristol and Cardiff) you will find that we are well and truly in the country with the advantages of a thriving village with 3 pubs (including a gastro pub less than 50 metres walk away and another that serves very good home-cooked food).

Keen walkers will find several easy walks mapped from the house and we have equipped The Studio with maps and guides books to the surrounding area. Cyclists will find the area very rewarding, both for road cycling and mountain biking in nearby Wentwood.

Golfers will find the famous St Pierre course 5 miles away and the 2010 Ryder Cup venue Celtic Manor 11 miles away. Chepstow Racecourse is less than 4 miles away. If you love castles you will also love Monmouthshire!

There is a lot more information on the village and the surrounding area available on the Shirenewton Village website.

There is also some fantastic information about the local coastal area, including walks information, at this website:
