Overview

About the property

Cottage in Shirenewton, Chepstow, South Wales, Wales - Perfect Location For Accessing The Wye Valley, Vale Of Usk, Cardiff And Bristol, Lovely Pub Nearby

The outstanding 4-star living accommodation is open-plan with a fitted kitchen area. The dining table seats 4 people comfortably.

Full 3D walkthrough available to view under the Facilities section.

The Studio benefits from a wooden floor and large-scale custom made and double-glazed timber framed windows and is decorated in muted Farrow & Ball greens and creams. Furnishing is in a modern country style. We have also fitted a brand-new luxury kitchen in May 2015 with all new appliances, which will hopefully make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The Studio is equipped with a flat screen Freeview television / DVD player (with iPod / MP3 connectivity) and a CD player / radio. There is a gas 'coal flame' stove to supplement the central heating and make for cosy nights in during winter.

A tiled internal entrance porch makes a good place to shed muddy boots and to hang coats. There is also a small patio area with a beautiful view of the church and the centre of the village. There is ample space to store bikes, either in the entrance porch (or we can provide additional space should it be required).

All bed linen, towels, gas, electricity and use of Studio washing machine are included. A cot and high chair are available upon request, with the option of a folding bed for a third occupant (by prior arrangement). Wireless internet can also be made available should it be required.

The Studio is annexed to our family home but with its own private entrance. As a family with young children we also recognise the needs of parents (and the value of some time alone for parents) so we would be happy to discuss any requirements you may have.

There is ample parking on the road outside the Studio. There is the possibility, by special arrangement with the owners only, of using an off-road parking space for 1 small-to-medium sized car. However the access to the off-road space is a little narrow and requires some manoeuvring.

We can accommodate 1 small dog (by prior arrangement only) but unfortunately no other pets. The Studio is strictly no smoking.

The Studio is the perfect bolt hole for an idyllic rural break.

  • 5 of 5

The Studio at Shirenewton is a beautifully appointed and well equipped rural apartment and an ideal base for leisurely exploring the immediate locality and further afield. It is centrally located within this pretty village and is within walking distance of the local pub restaurant The Tredegar Arms providing excellent food and ales.

The Studio is fully equipped with everything necessary for a relaxing stay and the owner, Sarah is extremely helpful providing suggestions for eateries and visits.

The welcome pack of wine and Welsh cakes was an added bonus.

Fantastic!

  • 5 of 5

Spacious, very well appointed house. The open plan arrangement gives it an airy feeling while being cosy at the same time. Great kitchen and shower room both with excellent fittings. Everything you could need to spend some time here was provided - even a pizza cutter!. Good location for South Wales and beyond. Easy to find and near a good pub. Would certainly recommend.

Great stay in Chepstow

  • 4 of 5

Enjoyed our week stay in the studio cottage which is very comfortable and beautifully appointed. Everything you could desire has been catered for. Lovely experience sleeping in the loft accommodation. The bottle of wine, Welsh cakes and vase of peony flowers very much appreciated. The studio is positioned in a central area for exploring the various tourist attractions of this part of Wales. This property deserves a five star rating except for the parking. We felt a little anxious having to park on a main thoroughfare, especially as we are an overseas tourist in a hire car.

Cosy and welcoming place

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful first impression- we were welcomed by the owner on our arrival. Then the quick show around followed. We loved everything about the property- clean, modern, spacious and cosy. We even had a dishwasher, very useful when after breakfast you just want to get ready and go off for the day. Nice touch was the welcome amenity- bottle if wine and traditional welsh cakes. Also there is a storage space where you can store your bikes. Good location with a lovely local pub just 2 min walking distance. We did enjoy our stay. Hope to return one day!

Location

Distances:

Bristol - 21 miles

Cardiff - 27 miles

Monmouth - 14 miles

Further Details:

The pretty stone-built village of Shirenewton is a excellent centre for exploring the Wye and Usk valleys, the Brecon Beacons and the Forest of Dean.

Although we are only 5 miles from the Severn Bridge (with fantastic access to Bristol and Cardiff) you will find that we are well and truly in the country with the advantages of a thriving village with 3 pubs (including a gastro pub less than 50 metres walk away and another that serves very good home-cooked food).

Keen walkers will find several easy walks mapped from the house and we have equipped The Studio with maps and guides books to the surrounding area. Cyclists will find the area very rewarding, both for road cycling and mountain biking in nearby Wentwood.

Golfers will find the famous St Pierre course 5 miles away and the 2010 Ryder Cup venue Celtic Manor 11 miles away. Chepstow Racecourse is less than 4 miles away. If you love castles you will also love Monmouthshire!

There is a lot more information on the village and the surrounding area available on the Shirenewton Village website.
