Hugh & Elspeth Little run the holiday houses along with their 2 children Tara(16) and Alec(15). We have 4 in total. Auld Schoolhouse, Beach Cottage in Sandhead, Helensdale near Drummore and Knockinaam Farm, near Portpatrick. Hugh is also a Farmer and Elspeth works part time in a local Bank.
We bought Auld Schoolhouse in December 2006 (and totally refurbished it) then Beach Cottage in 2010.
We love the location, with the Beach on the doorstep.
Although we only live 3 miles away we have holidayed here the first week of July, with our children (and their friends - the overspill in a tent) since we bought the Auld Schoolhouse.
We feel Sandhead has it all! 7 miles of sand on your doorstep, good pub/restaurant, shop tearoom and children's play park all within a very short walk. There is no though traffic - no noise at night except the waves lapping on the Beach!

Great week in a lovely house, really well appointed with a very considerate owner. Everything we could have hoped for, even the showers didn't last long. The locals were all really friendly and good places to eat, and a well stocked local shop added to the enjoyment.
Handy base for local trips as well, good to see Portpatrick in particular which is looking great these days. Hope to visit the house again in the near future-thanks again Elspeth
This is an amazing getaway. It was clean and well equipped. A quiet location with a tea room which sells amazing cakes and yummy ice cream. The beach really is on your doorstep and its vast sand and warm waters where perfect for dogs playing and children paddling. So many fun attractions nearby like creams and cocoa bean...I would definitely be back. Missing the stunning seaview already
