Licensed for civil marriages, it is also a unique venue for your country wedding. Full catering available if required, along with a wide array of activities & entertainments. About Lindsay Elvidge

Looking to escape the home counties and move to the country, we bought Chaffeymoor Grange in 2005. A complete refurb. followed with the aim of providing top quality self catered accommodation for large groups. We opened for business in 2007 and have enjoyed welcoming hundreds of families and groups to our home since then.

Why Lindsay Elvidge chose Wincanton

Far enough west to feel like proper countryside but not so far as to feel completely cut off, Dorset ticks all the boxes! We love the beautiful rolling hills, green fields and uninterrupted views. And there's never any traffic!

What makes this chateau / country house unique

Many houses can sleep 24, but not all in such comfort! The house is warm, welcoming and homely, yet with ample space for everyone. Children especially love the space and freedom of the gardens. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside and lots of lovely walks, including a cross-country walk to the local pub. Why not treat yourselves to a celebratory meal one night, prepared and served by our renowned local caterers?

Outside: 5 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens surround the house. Benefitting from a southerly aspect there is a large paved terrace (garden tables & chairs for 20, large gas BBQ), ornamental pond, croquet lawn, small lake with its own island & rowing boat, tennis court, 5-aside football pitch, table tennis, woodland area, orchard & vineyard. We have loads of garden games & provide all rackets, balls etc. Utility Room: 2 additional fridges, additional dishwasher, additional oven, hot cupboard, sink. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen & towels included, along with guest toiletries in the bathrooms. Fires are laid and ready to light. All heating & firewood included.
