The best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in! There were many, many kind, thoughtful and homely additions to this lovely little cottage we felt as if we were invited family - milk, eggs, bread, cake, biscuits, carved pumpkins, a dog toy, tea, coffee and biscuits! The place was spotless, warm and welcoming, we were surrounded by beautiful walks - along the path of the disused railway track and along the Seven to Ironbridge. We thoroughly enjoyed our few days at Puddle Duck Cottages, we didn't even manage to see all the museums there was so much to do! Thank you Sonia, all your efforts are much appreciated and we will be coming back.

Beautifully presented & spotlessly clean.

  • 5 of 5

My Mum & I had a wonderful weekend stay at Puddle Duck cottage. The location is ideal for visiting so many places around Ironbridge and that part of Shropshire. Puddle Duck cottage exceeded our expectations from the photos and website description. The rooms were stunningly presented & cosy, the cottage and garden well maintained and clean/tidy. The welcome pack was most generous, including the rope toy for my Cocker spaniel (Mac) - who loved every minute of his walks on the Silkin Way, which is only 5 minutes from the front door! We ate at Clays in Broseley on the Fri night and had a fabulous meal and the owners were incredibly hospitable; Sat night a take away from The King of Thai - superb. Sonia made sure we had arrived safely and had everything we needed and Debi called in person as well. We could not have asked for more and will definitely be returning in 2017.

A Gem of a Cottage

  • 5 of 5

I can honestly say that Duckling Cottage is the best cottage we have ever stayed in. It was lovely and warm and welcoming on our arrival, was spotlessly clean, very well maintained, beautifully furnished and very comfortable - a home from home!

I loved that everyday items such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, soap, tea coffee etc were supplied (less things to pack!) and the welcome pack was very welcome indeed - extremely thoughtful, even the dog was spoilt.

The cottage is in a lovely quiet area with plenty of walks for the dog right on the doorstep and also within walking distance of many attractions.

There are plenty of coffee shops and pubs nearby. The Shakespeare, Woodbridge and the Black Swan were very friendly and good for food but wouldn't recommend the Boat, the landlord was so unwelcoming that we came out without buying a drink - such a shame because it's so near to the cottage.

We thoroughly enjoyed our break and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Duckling Cottage - Sonia really goes the extra mile to make sure your stay is as comfortable as can be.

Lovely, cosy & very welcoming

  • 5 of 5

Both cottages are beautiful. Very clean, lovely peaceful setting and the decor is stunning. Lots of nice pubs within walking distance. They both have log fires which make the cottages so cozy. It makes you feel like your in the film "the holiday"! Sonia will go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible. We will definitely be returning and would definitely recommend puddleduck cottages.

Facilities

From the Owner

The property is perfectly located for walking, cycling, fishing & canoeing adventures, and exploring the wonderful historic area. Ideal if you are holidaying as a couple for a romantic break with a loved one or looking to spend some quality time with family and friends. Although we may be dog friendly. We are also keen to emphasis the fact that many of our guests don't have pets, so don't want to know that a pet may have stayed at the cottage before them. For this reason, alongside our house rules for pets, our cleaning standards are exceptionally high, so much so we are confident that when you book a stay with us as a non pet owner you will be delighted with the luxurious standards we pride ourselves on. We want our guests holiday to start the moment they walk through the door, so if you want to book an online grocery order to be delivered to the cottage prior to your arrival, you can. House-keeping will even put it away for you, get the log burner lit and the towels warmed for a soak in the sumptuous bath after a long journey too. If you're celebrating a special occasion or just fancy a treat we can arrange a private chef to cook for you or have some delicious ready meals waiting in the fridge/freezer too.
