Having visited the Algarve for several years with my wife and family i felt it was time to take the plunge and make an investment in property here as i have always considered this to be my second home.

Having found this majestic site and now near completion i want to share with others what i have been fortunate to enjoy over the past years.

Almancil is a great area that caters for everyone. You are a stone throw from the town centre with its array of exceptional cafes and restaurants and a short drive to the stunning beaches of Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago.

It is perfectly situated for families and golfers who want to enjoy everything the Algarve has to offer but a nice distance away that you are not in the heart of the hustle and bustle of the main tourist areas.

Local restaurants serve freshly sourced food at great value.

The locals are extremely friendly and always welcoming which is one of the main attractions for buying in this gem of an area situated in the hills behind Almancil.

Coast/Beach:

5* beaches of Vale do Lobo and Vilamoura are only 10-15 minutes away by car.

These beaches are stunning to say the least and host a variety of great cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes. Sun loungers and umbrellas can be hired by the hour.

If you require something a bit more secluded we have details of many other beaches not found by the mass tourist population just yet.

Travel:

Faro airport is located 20km from the villa with a transfer time of approximately 15-20 minutes. A car is recommended for this property unless you enjoy hill walking with a great view. We can organise bicycle hire if requested as this is a great way to explore the local area.

Distances:

Almancil and Loule are equidistant to the villa- both 5 minutes away by car. Both towns are packed with culture and sites to explore with an abundance of cafes, bars and great restaurants.

The ancient town of Loule hosts weekend markets which mustn't be missed.

Incredible

We had an excellent time at Lago da Serra. The accommodation was high-spec, clean and comfortable with space for working and entertaining. The gardens, pool area and outdoor living areas are immaculate. Check-in and out and communication with the estate manager was simple. The location and surrounding views are incredible. Very highly recommended.

Great views, and perfect chilling spot.

Beautiful place and great sunsets--that's what I'll remember this place for.

To be honest the location can be a bit hard to find if you don't use Google maps, so I would suggest having a look at Google maps and pin pointing the main gate entrance exactly on the map (or your GPS), so you can get there quickly.

Aside from missing towels and some amenities when we arrived (which was quickly solved), we had a great time and enjoyed the place thoroughly (you almost don't need to go anywhere else to enjoy yourself). :)

Amazing property, some improvements required

This is an amazing property - the main house with two annex villas works really well. Nice, big, swimming pool, set in fantastic grounds. Spacious and comfortable. Good location in easy reach of Algarve beaches, supermarkets, local towns and attractions.

Villa needs some 'soft touches' to make it a bit more homely. For example, although well equipped, the decoration is very basic. We struggled at the swimming pool with lack of shade. Owner also needs to make more comprehensive maintenance arrangements - such a large property needs almost daily visits and onsite management. Reinaldo was sometimes helpful, but also slow to respond to requests and questions (for example, we did not have the child cot on the first night, although we requested it in advance). The freezer is still broken (apparently after many months of problems), and beeped continually. For the money we spent on the property, it would be nice to have basics provided on arrival (e.g. hand soap considering there are 6 bathrooms on the property).

Overall great stay, but a property of this size and price needs more onsite support and communication.

Perfect location and very pretty. Has the WOW factor.

Lago de Serra is without a doubt a fabulous place to stay especially for a large group of family and friends. It's location is superb, so accessible to all the places you might wish to see and visit. Great choice of supermarkets within easy reach, which is especially important when self catering. The view from the terraces of all three villas is quite breath taking. We loved the huge wooden table where all 14 of us gathered together to eat most evenings, after drinks sitting out on the big outside sofas watching the sun set. We had great fun down at the pool which is a good size, and one game of volley ball, despite the heat! These very comfy, lovely modern villas built on a pretty hillside make for a very relaxing holiday destination. Sean the owner is very responsive on email during the booking process and Reinaldo was also helpful in dealing with the few very small issues we had during our stay. Has to be 5 stars!

fantastic property and location 10/10

Our family of 16 stayed at this amazing property in June 2017.

All three properties were presented to a high quality and every detail well thought out, the cleanliness of each property was excellent.

The facilities, including the swimming pool, private beach, fish lake and the grounds were kept to the highest of standards.

The caretakers Reinaldo & his wife were so helpful and friendly.

The owners Sean & Sarah were extremely accommodating and very flexible with our requests.

All our family will remember this truly lovely villa and the memories of our wonderful and very special gathering and have all asked if we can go again.

We have no hesitation in recommending this villa to anyone who is looking for a large and spectacular venue for a family or friends get together.

5 star Villa in Almancil

A group of us stayed at this incredible villa in Almancil by the Algarve.

We were completely spoilt with the views, activities and how immaculate everything was kept.

It really is a place for everyone, for children, wanting to relax or to having a few drinks and dinner party.

Our group did it all and it was hard to go out and enjoy the rest of the Algarve as we had everything we wanted in the villa.

We will be wanting to come back thats for sure, especially for a volley ball rematch.
