Exclusive 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom luxury villa with private pool overlooking a freshwater lake

Our home is an open plan air conditioned holiday oasis. The living space is generous with 3 separate indoor areas to relax, read, watch tv or surf the net with our free high speed wifi. With 4 luxuriously equipped bedrooms and 3 bathrooms parties of 8 guests are easily accommodated without compromise. The well fitted kitchen has everything you need for entertaining your guests. The pool deck can be accessed from 4 separate rooms and includes a covered Lanai and heated pool with a patio area overlooking the lake.

The master bedroom features a king size bed with dressing table and draw storage. A flat screen TV and free high speed wifi allows you to wake up slowly as you prepare for your day. The master suite also enjoys a huge en suite bathroom with 2 sinks, separate loo, shower cubicle and bath. A walk in closet completes the package.

The second bedroom features a queen size bed, dressing table and bedside draw space. A large closet will swallow your luggage, clothes and purchases. Adjacent is a bathroom with single basin and bath with shower over.

The third and fourth bedroom have twin beds with draw space and large closets and share the third bathroom with single basin and bath with shower over. One has a flat screen TV with DVD player.

All linen and towels are included and there are plenty for bedding changes during your stay.

The family room is at the centre of the house with easy access to the three guest bedrooms as well as the den and the kitchen/breakfast area. With three comfortable settees, coffee and side tables you can enjoy the 49" flat screen Sony TV which features premium cable TV and a DVD player.

The kitchen overlooks the family room so users can watch the TV and the young ones whilst they prepare a meal. With an electric cooker, microwave, fridge freezer and dishwasher as well as all the small appliances you'll need including coffee maker, toaster, electric kettle and blender we cater for your every culinary need. Off the kitchen is the utility room with a washer and dryer as well as vacuum cleaner for those little spills.

The breakfast area overlooks the lanai and has a table and 2 chairs to enjoy a leisurely breakfast.

Through the arch is the sitting room. Well away from the TV this is the quiet zone. Two comfy settees overlook the pool and the lake beyond. With tables for that coffee, tea or glass of wine, just sit and relax and 'do your thing'. We even have a good collection of books for you to enjoy. Adjacent to the sitting room is a dining table with 6 chairs for those family meals.

The final inside relaxing area is the den which has sliding doors onto the pool deck. A settee overlooks the lake behind the house.

The outside area is the place to be in Ft Myers. With a covered patio accessible from the master bedroom, sitting room or breakfast area you can enjoy the view in all weathers. We have a new toughened glass patio table with 6 chairs to enjoy meals or a friendly game amongst friends and family. The pool beyond is approx 30ft long and 14ft wide. It has a safe shallow end for the none swimmers and a 5ft 6in deep end for the more confident. A handy seat at the end of the pool allows you to sit up to your waist in the water and enjoy the view over the lake or enjoy a cool drink in the plastic outside ware we provide.

The pool is solar heated and is generally warm enough from April to October without the help of our electric heat pump. We can provide this electric heating at extra cost for the cooler months when we less hardy like a little warmer water to enjoy.

Beyond the deck is a patio area beyond the building line of the house which provides full views of the lake and the wildlife that continuously enjoy it. We regularly see Eagrets, Heron, Osprey, Pelicans, Ibis, Cormorants and for the first time this year a Bald Eagle enjoying the lake. Alligators, Otters and Snapper Turtles are also spotted frequently.

The pool area is protected by a mesh cage which keeps most insects out and cuts down some of the Sun's UV rays. Shade trees also provide protection at the end of the deck.

In the garage we have some pool toys (though we can't guarantee condition), beach chairs and parasols as well as a couple of easy rider bikes for a trip to Biscottis around the corner for a coffee or ice cream.

We supply remote controls to access the garage and the gates to Beachwalk Isles - the community where our house is located. They will be waiting for you in the house on your arrival. We just ask that you leave them behind for our next guests on your departure.

We aim to provide a clean, well maintained and comfortable holiday home for you to enjoy. We decorate and update as regularly as we can afford to make your vacation as relaxing and enjoyable as we possibly can. Vacasa our Management Company, are on hand to help in emergencies and contact details are provided in the house as well as other useful contact numbers.

Why Shane Lancaster chose Beachwalk Isles

As avid viewers of a 'Place in the Sun' we always aspired to owning a property in Florida. In 2002 we travelled to Cape Coral after watching a family buy a property there. After a few days of property search and finding nothing suitable we had a day off and travelled to Sanibel. On the way back we stumbled across Beachwalk Isles and after viewing the community and the show home we bought our property. Very 'spur of the moment' but a decision we have never regretted. Since our property was completed in 2003 we have visited twice a year around work. In that time we have grown to love the area and enjoy sharing our home with others to allow them to explore our little piece of Ft Myers and hopefully develop the same love for this 'little piece of paradise' as we have.

With today's hectic lifestyle the most important aspect of a holiday is to relax. Our property is aimed at achieving that goal by promoting a relaxing lifestyle. Everything is provided to make your holiday as de stressing as possible. From breakfast on the lanai to a leisurely swim in the pool or an hour watching the amazing wildlife enjoying the lake followed by a cup of tea in the air conditioned sitting room Osprey View does just that. Yet everything you need is on your doorstep. Supermarkets and restaurants are a walk away. The beaches of Ft Myers Beach and Sanibel are a short car journey away, but at the end of the day you can leave their hustle and bustle behind and quietly relax watching the TV or reading a book. We visit this home twice a year in late Spring and early Winter. It's perfect. The view over the lake and the wildlife we see is, frankly amazing. The home is comfortably furnished and spacious. There's only 3 of us so we can easily find a peaceful corner, but a larger group could do the same. The pool is great and the electric heating provides that extra warmth when needed. We have visited Osprey View many times. The villa is marvellous. The beds are comfortable, we can stretch out on the sofas, the entertainment systems are perfect. Notes on accommodation: Our large villa is located in one of the hidden gems of south-west Florida. Just a short drive (5 - 10 mins) from the white sandy beaches of Ft Myers Beach and Sanibel Island, with Captiva beyond, anything is possible. Enjoy the near endless sunshine, the wonderful Gulf of Mexico, the wildlife or shelling on the beach. Follow it with a cocktail at the bar or a meal in one of the numerous excellent restaurants nearby. If you feel more energetic kayaking, golf or hiking is excellent in the area. For the shoppers excellent outlet and retail malls are within easy reach and provide excellent value. Within walking distance of the property are Supermarkets, pharmacies as well as several restaurants from pizza to fine dining. Getting here is east too - The airport at Ft Myers is 20 minutes drive, Tampa, Miami and Ft Lauderdale 2 hours away and Orlando 3 hrs. The villa is the perfect choice for a large family with separate areas to give everyone space and privacy to enjoy their stay. Outside: The outside pool area is enclosed to prevent anything disturbing your relaxation. With a covered patio/Lanai area you can enjoy watching the occasional storm as it quickly passes through. The pool is approx. 30ft by 14ft and is 5ft 6ins deep at the deepest point. It has an in pool ledge to sit and watch the day go by or enjoy a drink in the outdoor ware provided. The pool is heated using the sun but we can provide electric heating at extra charge if you prefer. There is an outside table with 6 chairs and 4 sun loungers with soft cushions available in the garage. The patio area at the far end of the pool overlooks the lake from where we have seen egrets, ospreys, ibis, herons, pelicans, cormorants, turtles, otters and even a small alligator enjoying the peaceful setting. The garden surrounds the pool with shade trees and well cared for grass. The front of the house has a drive to the large garage and a path to the front door. Garage/front gate openers are provided subject to return. Utility Room: The utility room is off the kitchen and has a top loading washer and front loading dryer. Washing basket and iron maiden. Iron and ironing board. Vacuum cleaner. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen are provided and there is enough for guests to do their own changes. A final clean is provided. If additional cleaning is required this can be provided at extra charge. The swimming pool is cleaned and maintained weekly. Other: The den is close to the guest suite and has a sofa and access to the pool making it a perfect area for your guests to quietly relax. A breakfast area adjoins the kitchen and has a table and 4 chairs. The pool deck has a covered Lanai with table & chairs.

We had a very relaxing stay in this comfortable home for 18 days. We look forward to coming back in 2020! The pool was used every day and we went to Ft. Myers beach a few times since it was an easy drive.

Several things make it a 5-star -

Overall, we enjoyed the house and would return, but it is not a 5-star compared to others we have rented, both in Beachwalk and in other locations. This review definitely is not to discourage anyone from renting, but we think others might have some of the same expectations we had after reading the reviews with high praise for cleanliness and décor. Those expectations resulted in disappointment when we first arrived. The disappointment waned as we focused on the positives.

5-star qualities:

Location – we consider the Beachwalk Isles community very desirable – convenient, lovely, well maintained, safe

Size – the house is spacious with some open areas and some that are more private & quiet

Pool – very nice pool and lanai

View – the lake view is lovely and calming; various birds and wildlife are entertaining

Kitchen well stocked with dishes, etc; comfy beds and sofas; good book selection; huge master bed and bath; great storage; owner supplies good info on activities, shopping, restaurants, etc.

But there are some things that make it less than 5-star. Contrary to some of the glowing reviews, we experienced the following:

The ice maker wasn’t functioning and obviously hadn’t been working for a while since there were ice cube trays in the freezer. Soon after our arrival we contacted the property management company; when the rep came out he said he would email the owner but we heard nothing further. In that same contact, we requested replacement of three burned out light bulbs (too high up to be reached without his tall ladder). He apologized, said the cleaning crew should have notified them of the light issues.

Cleanliness – there was some very dusty furniture. And when we put some snack bags on top of the refrigerator, we found it quite dirty. Items on display on top of the cabinets had many layers of dust and some cobwebs, same for some light fixtures. The coffee pot was unwashed. Window blinds had major dust bunnies. Apparently the cleaning crew ignores more than burned out light bulbs.

Some dated furnishings – though they were adequate, some things show wear and could use updating, such as laminate countertops, original faucet fixtures, carpeting which was worn and, in some areas, stained.

We rather doubt that the owner is aware of the cleanliness issues. Seems like that’s something Vacasa might be responsible for. As previously stated, we enjoyed our month in the home; the issues we encountered were not major.

Owner's Response: I can only apologise for the cleanliness issues. I will take this up with my management company. I will also ensure the ice maker is repaired. If you had of contacted me directly I would have ensured a swifter response. Regarding the 5 star rating. Please note I do not charge 5 star prices. The guests who have rated it 5 star I'm sure have rated it based on value for the money they spent on renting the property. If I spend a fortune on replacing counter tops and furnishings (choice of which is very subjective) then I would have to charge more for renting my home which may well put it out of reach of many of my British guests. I charge around £107/$130 per night peak season, Vacasa charge $170 per night for the same type of property. I appreciate your feedback however....it is always useful to hear the views of my guests.

Ft Myers Beach is a huge white sandy beach just a 5 - 10 minute drive from our front door. With a pier, bars, restaurants and shops in the centre of the town a day at the beach can be as busy or relaxing as you wish. Jet ski rental and para-sailing are available at FMB. Sanibel is also 10 minutes drive away across the causeway. Sanibel beaches are quiet unspoilt white sand. They don't have the facilities that FMB enjoys but are glorious. Captiva island connects to Sanibel.


As in most parts of the USA a car is essential. Once at our villa you can walk to local facilities quite easily but for local exploring a car makes life much easier. Travelling to our villa is practical from most of Florida's International airports. Orlando is 3 hrs drive away, Tampa, Miami and Ft Lauderdale are 2 hours drive and Ft Myers is just 20 minutes.


Downtown Ft Myers is 20 mins by car. Naples is 45 minutes. Everglades 80 minutes. Nearest movie theatre is at Bell Tower Shops and is 10 minutes (Gulf Coast Centre movie theatre 15 minutes, Coconut Point 20 minutes). Publix Supermarket 10 minute walk or 2 minutes in the car. Nearest restaurant - Rib City 10 minute walk.

Further Details:

Florida is a large State and offers many leisure activities for visitors. It would be wrong to say you can tour Florida from our villa but there is so much to do and enjoy in the Ft Myers area that any length of stay would be as action packed or leisurely as you desire. We can advise on what to do based on our experiences and we provide information on local attractions in the family room of our villa.
