average rating of 4.428571 based on 7 reviews

The house was everything we expected. very comfortable and spacious.

  • 4 of 5

Five adults and one 8 month baby. The house is very comfortable and spacious. It was very home from home. The weather was very good and we were able to make good use of the lovely grounds and garden. There are lots of beautiful places to visit but a car is absolutely essential.

Beautiful, cosy home; just missing a few touches

  • 3 of 5

We stayed here for a post Christmas break over New Year. There was even a beautifully decorated Christmas tree which added to the homely feel. The grounds were impressively grand and the house itself was nice and cosy.

The location was convenient, with Tescos just a 5 minute drive away, although a car is a must for getting out and about. The house was very comfortable for the six adults and two babies in our group. The wooden cots provided for the little ones were a lovely touch (a lot of places only provide travel cots), and there were also plenty of warm blankets provided to use with them- however only one highchair was provided when we had been told there would be two. The kitchen was well equipped (just missing bin bags!) and the Le Creuset pans were a nice touch. The washing machine was handy, especially with two babies, but an indoor airer to dry the washing on would have been handy.

We had a relaxing break, and the property was lovely, but we all felt it was just missing a few finishing touches to make it feel really special. For the money, it's a shame that towels are not provided; the WiFi connection was very, very poor and didn't work most of the time, which was a shame. We reported this to the property manager and were told that this was as good as it gets, so it's a bit misleading to say the property has WiFi as it effectively doesn't work. An xbox 360 was provided in the lounge but we found that the games supplied weren't compatible with it. The bed downstairs in particular was very uncomfortable, so much so that one couple from our party preferred to sleep on the sofas in the lounge instead! The shower in the twin bedroom upstairs was weak and some of the bathroom floor tiles were cracked, the blinds in this room were also broken, but we managed.

These issues let it down a little, as the house was otherwise finished to a very high standard. A few tweaks would really help to make it feel very special indeed.

Owner's Response: Hi Kimberley Thank you for you comments they are appreciated, as we value our customers comments. We wish you had mentioned the additional high chair during your stay, and we would have supplied one immediately, the advantage to customers that we live in the estate. We are currently again speaking to the broadband provider, because we too have the problems with the interent, which makes it very hard to run a business. Countryfile mentioned this problem on sunday nights programe, and are investigating to fine ways of having internet problems resolved in isolated areas. If you wish to return to one of our cottages, please do hot hesitate to contact me Very best regards Margaret

Amzing property

  • 5 of 5

I booked New Farm as part of a booking for all 3 properties in the grounds of Ranmoor for my 50th Birthday as we had a large group of 26. It was perfect to accommodate my large party within the same beautiful grounds. The property was perfect in every way, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and the location and views were amazing.

The owner was so helpful with making everything so easy to book and for providing so much detail about the local area.

I will certainly be returning with my family and friends who all agreed that the property was perfect in every way.

Many thanks

Clare Bale

Immaculate, and cosy

  • 5 of 5

The property was clean and well maintained, the biggest bonus for us wanting a relaxing holiday, was the private enclosed garden, and the children loved the additional play area to the side they played for hours on the trampoline. I would strongly recommend this property

Wonderful accommodation in countryside

  • 5 of 5

My family spent 8 nights in this beautiful 3 bedroom cottage in April 2015. When booking online one can be apprehensive about what you are going to get at the other end but the cottage exceeded all of our expectations. Communication with the owner was great and responsive to all of our needs. She checked on the age of the children and ensured there were age appropriate activities at the home for them to enjoy. This made our stay all the more special.

The home is well maintained and very spacious. We enjoyed feeling like we were in a home away from home. It was great having the kitchen facilities so that we were able to prepare most of our meals while on holidays since for the rest of our trip we would be stuck in hotel rooms with minimal facilities and have to eat out all the time.

We could not ask for more and good value for the money paid.

The accommodation is in the middle of the countryside so a car would be required and there is parking available. It is only a few minutes down the road from the supermarket for supplies and a bit further for the main part of Blandford Forum. About 30 minutes and you are into Poole where there is a larger shopping centre area and other attractions.

Thank you for your hospitality and we will be back if we return to the area and recommend to any of our friends/family looking into options for this area.
