About the Owner

Hi folks. Thanks so much for looking at my villa. I first moved to Montserrat in 2007 to start a new life in the sun. What a journey it's been. I've worked very hard on the property, firstly building the guest house so my family would have somewhere to stay when they visited. Then onto the balcony and stone work, progressing to the terrace & pool. All whilst working teaching professionals English. It has been challenging & emotional but I'm very content and love my home dearly. I moved back to UK 2012 to help care for my grandmother and decided to rent the villa so others can benefit from the beautiful setting.

I immersed myself in the local town & community and used to hold summer parties that everyone came too. I hope to live back there again someday but for now I welcome you to stay.

Beautiful villa in a lovely peaceful setting, ideal for a relaxing holiday.

The villa is lovely and the pool glorious. It was very hot whilst we were there but there were plenty of shaded areas to 'escape' to, if wanted. The pool was fantastic and we swam every day, in fact it was hard to get the grandchildren out!!! We barbecued and ate alfresco every evening which was a real treat. Everything that you could need was there: large fridge freezer, washing machine, hairdryer etc. etc. Monserrat has great supermarkets and the Chinese store had a huge stock which was great for getting the grandchildren some pool toys. Would not hesitate to recommend.

First time in Spain

  • 4 of 5

The 4 Star review is complicated. The view: swimming pool : reasonable privacy and a delightful Gite a few yards away would deserve 5 Stars. The main part of the Villa has a great sun-room and reasonably pleasant main room with bedrooms. For a group larger than 2 persons then the single WC and shower could be insufficient. To be fair, the Gite also has very modern toilet facilities. We found good beaches and very friendly Spanish. locals. It was very hot but the single air conditioner made evening temperatures acceptable. The British caretaker was easily available to help with problems. A great 2 weeks.

Superb villa and location

  • 5 of 5

A truly charming and eclectic mix of rustic and modern villa. Very quiet and relaxing location with great views. Swimming pool is very inviting on hot summer days, with its crystal clear water and plenty of surrounding space to relax and catch some rays.

There is also lots of outdoor seating for alfresco dinning or just chilling and having a drink.

A welcome pack is provided by the owner with a few basics which was very considerate and allowed us to have a much needed bite to eat and a drink without having to rush out to the local supermarket on immediate arrival, this was much appreciated.

The main town is quite small but has decent facilities such as supermarkets, places to eat and drink and a Chinese market that seems to stock a huge range of goods ( I managed to forget to take sunglasses and sandals, so was walking around in shorts, Dr martens boots and squinting at everything -not a pretty sight - so a relief for all concerned when I got these items for 8 euros from this shop).

We didn't explore much on this occasion but Valencia is only a 40 minute drive and has lots to offer including the City of Arts and Sciences which includes one of the worlds best aquaria.

I would certainly recommend this to anyone who wants a peaceful, relaxing, sunny retreat for a week or 2.

From the Owner

I was drawn to the property because of the potential it had and the stunning views. I had certain criteria on my list. A house I could live in immediately, space for a pool, a second build, garden, view & fruit trees. This property ticked all of those and although it was very run down, no pool, terrace or guesthouse, I had a vision. Being quite remote didn't worry me as I knew I had easy access to the airport whenever I needed and for family to visit and a short drive to the city & beach.

From the Owner

The benefits of living here started immediately. Firstly waking up to the view every day just put a smile on my face. It's a reason to get up in the morning and seeing the view change as the day goes by, even to this day noticing new things I haven't noticed before. The villa although remote is in a perfect setting overlooking the orange groves. It's in a private setting and that was important for me, especially after working in and around the city, peace & tranquillity were waiting for me as I got home. Being able to get out of bed and have a morning swim, priceless. Not disturbing the neighbours with my loud music whenever I had a party (which was quite often)!
