Apartment in Tenerife, Canary Islands - The Property Is Situated Within 5 Minutes Walk Of The Charming Village Of Escalona

The apartment is newly decorated and fully equipped and completely self contained, this is a rustic canarian property where you can expect to see lizards, wild birds etc. Set on private rural land it is down a steep village road through to a private electronic gated drive, there is an aviary containing budgies, love birds and quails. The private 8m x 4m pool is set in a terraced area within a field of mature Yukka trees with views of the mountains.

There are magnificent views of the South coast down to the sea, La Gomera and Gran Canaria are also visible.

Located on the outskirts of the village of La Escalona the apartment is ideally situated for a peaceful holiday for exploring, hiking and walking in the surrounding area or for just relaxing in peace and tranquillity. The National Park and the Teide Mountain are easily reached by car in around 15 minutes as are the beaches of the south coast. This is truly an idyllic place but as it is a rural location a car is recommended.

We have visited Rachels apartment on several occasions and highly recommend it hence our many return visits!



The Apartment in Escalona is in a wonderful location up in the hills and has a private pool and everything you need to make your stay a perfect holiday.



Rachel gave us the warmest of welcomes on our first arrival, meeting us in the village so we could follow him by car to the Barn and could be shown around.



The directions provided to get to the village were simple to follow making a very relaxed drive from the airport. On our return visits when Rachel was overseas, Carl looked after us giving us an equally warm welcome.



The Barn is attached to the main house yet is totally private. The whole property is accessed through private gates and having your own pool is perfect! No fighting or paying for sunbeds!



The location of the Apartment is ideally situated for whatever your needs are be it total relaxation away from it all, chilling around the pool with a nice glass of wine or cold beer or exploring the surrounding countryside.



Situated 4km from Vilaflor, the gateway to Mount Teide, the Apartment is ideally located to explore the real Tenerife. It is a very simple drive down to the coast too should you wish to go to the beach and dip your toes in the sea.



The local shop in the village has everything you need and the Barn's kitchen is well equipped with everything for cooking inside or dining al fresco. There are outside tables and chairs too with a parasol for some shade should you require it.



The views from the back are truly idyllic and the peace and tranquillity second to none.



The village also has some lovely restaurants too serving traditional Canarian food.



We feel very lucky to have found Rachel’s place and we can not wait to go again and have no hesitation in recommending it to all our friends and family.

Perfect getaway

Me and my other half honestly cannot fault this place one bit.

Beautiful house with beautiful views.

Yes a car hire definitely recommended but with such reasonable prices Rachael offers there's no way you can't budget.

We probably couldn't have got through the holiday without Carl, he is so helpful and his whole family are lovely.

We didn't have one bit of cloud, the weather was beautiful in fact it was hotter at the house than it was by the coast.

The pool was a treat to cool down in as well as, nice and peaceful to lay round with no worries of getting up to "hold" a sun lounger because you have your own.

Lovely views from the balcony to eat breakfast on, while you feed the chickens.

Thankyou again to Carl for the eggs, they were delicious - we had eggs for breakfast every morning.

I could go on and on but basically it's perfect for a relaxing day then just a short drive to any excursions, the beach or if you want to go out for the day (best of both worlds)

It's the perfect holiday as far as we are concerned!

100% going to be back :-)

in our opinion this is a little gem, a peaceful retreat well away from the madding crowds!! the swimming area ALL to your selves "brill" car a must for this apt !! wonderful panoramic views from the terrace of the apt looking down on the coast line. the managers carl and gwen are a fantastic couple and will care for your every need, in our opinion "home from home" chris/angie

Lovely mountain hideaway, great for walking

This is a lovely, small but comfortable place up in the mountains, with beautiful views and a nice pool. Carl and his family take great care of you and make your stay special. There are chickens, a goat, a sheep and a lamb to add to the experience. Not to mention the fresh eggs....:-). Very good spot if you like walking, and an excellent location for the El Teide national park, which was my favourite place on the island. Bring layers - you are on a mountain and the weather can change suddenly. However, I had lots of beautiful sunshine too and came back very brown.

Absolutely breathtaking views....

We had an absolutely wonderful holiday away from the rest of the world up high in the mountains above the clouds.... The apartment was fabulous for the two of us, everything you could possibly need and a real treat to have our own private pool. We have already recommended to friends and family and would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet retreat. We have booked our return trip already.

Being just 20 minutes from the coast or the mountains its in an ideal location...if you want the hustle and bustle you can have it but be back in a peaceful haven for chilling out

By car the south coast beaches are about 20 minutes away.

The nearest village is Escalona which is a 5 minute walk, there are a couple of shops, a church, a school, a bar and three good restaurants. Vilaflor is 15 minutes by car an interesting town with a beautiful church and a nice square with shops and cafes.

Further Details:

As this property is in a higher rural location the climate here can be different to the south coast. It is hotter in the summer throughout the day and night. At other times of the year it can be cooler when the sun goes down so a jacket might be needed.

  • Notes on accommodation: This is a rustic canarian property not a complex type apartment, more of a home from home and typically Spanish. Because of the rural location of the property, our manager Carl who lives next door will arrange to meet you in the village of Escalona to guide you to the apartment. The electricity is supplied via a euro meter which takes 1 or 2 euro coins. Outside: On the private patio there is patio furniture ideal for alfresco dining. Around the pool is extensive terracing with patio furniture. There is private use of the pool until 6:30 p.m. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All linen is provided including towels for the pool, these are changed weekly on stays of two weeks or more.
