The villa has stunning views of the sea and village from the balcony and living rooms. The property has been completely refurbished in 2018 to a very high standard and is well equipped. Refurbishment has included a new well equipped kitchen, with brand new Bosch appliances. Both shower rooms have walk-in showers, with excellent water pressure, heated towel rails, stylish modern WC and handbasins and contemporary tiling. The bedrooms benefit from new beds and mattresses. The private pool and charming gardens are very well maintained and we have recently added very comfortable outdoor furniture and There is plenty of parking outside the villa. Just a few minutes walk away Luz beach, with its expanse of sand and safe bathing, provides a wonderful place to relax. Tennis courts are within easy walking distance and there are excellent local golf courses at Boa Vista and Espiche only 10 minutes away, with numerous other very good golf courses within 15-30 minutes. We also have fast free WiFi internet access, TV with all main channels including Sky, BT and access to all film channels. Shops within easy walking distance. The spectacular sea views are an absolute feature of the villa. Accessed from the living room and dining room, the balcony is equipped with new 'rattan' furniture and fitted cushions.

We are Peter and Cathy and we live in Brighton. We have been visiting Luz for over 15 years now. We have two 20+ year old 'children' who also love using the villa with their friends. We are keen golfers, tennis players, cyclists and walkers and enjoy visiting restaurants. The area suits us perfectly

Why Cathy Lowe chose Luz

Quite simply we bought the villa for the stunning views of the sea and village and the fantastic private garden and pool. The villa faces south and enjoys sunshine throughout the day. The spectacular sea views are an absolute feature of the villa. The villa is away from traffic and crowds but close enough to reach key places quickly. Luz is relaxed and friendly but has all the 'essentials' such as fantastic beach, supermarkets, excellent restaurants, bars etc and is near to Lagos which has numerous restaurants, shops and good night life. With Faro airport reached in under an hour by car, Luz is an ideal location for holidaymakers.

What makes this villa unique

We spend a lot of time at the villa and the 2018 complete refurbishment has given the whole villa a high quality, fresh and contemporary finish with top of the range appliances, shower rooms, comfortable beds etc. The villa has a very ‘homely’ feel. We are always looking to see how we can improve it and welcome suggestions from our guests. The villa is so convenient for beaches, sporting and leisure activities, restaurants, bars, shops etc. The one thing we will never tire of is the view from the living rooms and balcony. Photos cannot do the view justice!

Outside: We have a secluded, well maintained private pool and garden. We have recently purchased new comfortable outdoor furniture and sun beds for the pool. The pool is a maximum of 1.6 m deep. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included in the rental price. All linen is changed and the villa is cleaned at the end of your stay. First class!

We stayed in this property with our 2 boys aged 11 & 8. The villa was everything we could have wished for: immaculately clean, well equipped and the views from the balcony at any given time of the day were a delight. Cathy could not have been more helpful. In short ... a wee gem!

Terrific relaxing stay!

We had a terrific 2 week visit at this lovely villa. The TV system was the most comprehensive we've ever had in a European stay with live US channels which allowed us to watch the opening World Series games which our Cubs ended up winning! (We proudly flew our W flag from the balcony during our stay.) We got in lots of walking and enjoyed the local markets and restaurants. The balconies get sun all day and had very comfortable furniture. Everything was better than listed and Cathy provided all the necessary directions. We definitely hope to come back and will look to get this villa again.

Fantastic find

Thanks Cathy for letting us stay in your villa. It surpassed all our expectations, it was the best villa we have ever stayed in. The view from the balcony was gorgeous especially on an evening with the odd glass of wine or two!

First time we have been to Luz, quite small with great restaurants we had some lovely meals.

We shall definitely book again with you, once again thanks.

Extended Summer Break

My family have just returned from a 3 week stay in Luz at this fantastic Villa. From booking through to arrival the process was very smooth with all questions and queries answered promptly. The Villa itself is of a very high standard with everything you need for a stress free holiday. The location in Luz is ideal and the resort itself is rather picturesque and charming. Beautiful villa

This is a beautiful villa, in a wonderful setting on a hill above Luz. The views from the terrace are every bit as good as they look in the photos and the villa is tastefully furnished in a homely way. The villa is about 10 mins walk from the beach/town centre where there are plenty of good dining options. The villa was very clean and Peter and Cathy provided great information about the villa and locale both before arrival and in a booklet in the villa. We would recommend this villa to couples or small families seeking a relaxing break away in the sun!

A Quality Villa in an Enchanting Part of Portugal

This villa was by far one of the best that we have stayed in over the years. Furnished to a high specification without it losing that homely feel. What a superb view from the living room area. All in all we had a fabulous 2 weeks and we look forward to returning to stay in this charming villa in Praia Da Luz in the not to distant future.

Coast/Beach:

Luz beach is only 10 minutes walk from the villa and has every imaginable water sport available in the summer months from sailing boats to windsurfers and pedalos to log or ringo rides. The west coast, only 20 minutes away by car, is much wilder with its huge unspoilt beaches and large breakers - and is a haven for surfers. There are numerous other fantastic beaches within easy driving distance.

Travel:

Faro airport is only about 50 minutes by car. The train from Faro to Lagos is very inexpensive and takes about 1½ hours. Airport transfers in taxis are available from about 70 euros each way. There are local buses, which will take you to Lagos, or the neighbouring fishing villages of Burgau and Salema.

Distances:

Luz is 10 minutes walk. Lagos is about 10 minutes by car.

Cape Vincente, the most Southwesterly point of Europe is about 30 minutes away by car.

Also recommended is a visit to Monchique the highest point in Southwest Europe.
