The property was simply stunning. Spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, and suitably equipped. We had a fantastic time, and hope to come back ( if availability ever allows!)

The highlight was the hot tub. Big thanks to James the owner for keeping it going for us.

Amazing! Stunning! Must stay!

  • 5 of 5

3 day family gathering to celebrate husbands 60th birthday and retirement.

In an absolutely beautiful location, Peaceful and relaxing. The hot tub under the stars on a cold winters night was a treat.

All the rooms were of exceptional standard, and immaculately clean.

Lovely and warm in all rooms, with log fires to add to the ambience. Nothing better than to enjoy a drink by firelight.

James obviously goes over and above what is expected to ensure guests have everything they could wish for - from the welcome hamper to ice cubes on tap from the freezer - a bit hit with the boys.

Canoes, life jackets, fishing gear, bicycles, grand piano, DVD library, sky tv - something for all weathers.

I simply cannot recommend this property enough. Perfect for all occasions.

Wonderful house and setting

  • 5 of 5

We held a family get together at Waterside House recently. The house was gorgeous, beautifully furnished and with lovely surroundings. It was also very clean and well equipped. The hot tub, canoes and rope swing were a great success. We had a delicious dinner at the St. Vincent Arms nearby and found plenty to do locally:- walking the city walls, the York Maze and aircraft museum were all good fun. Can't thank James enough.

Super house, location and hospitality!

  • 5 of 5

just returned from a three night stay with 12 friends to celebrate my 50th birthday. The house itself is a dream, everything is done to a very high standard, and the facilities are great. The owner James goes out of his way to ensure everything is 'just so' for all the guests. Zheng made sure the hot tub was lit and well stocked, I can't praise him highly enough. We will definitely be back as the location is so relaxing, and beautiful.

Wow!

  • 5 of 5

On arrival it was clear that the photos did not do Waterside House justice. It is a stunning property, configured excellently for family groups or, like ours, a group of friends. The hot tub is different from the usual chemical filled ones and was fab. The setting is peaceful and ideal for the noisier members of any party.

We have re-booked for next year - need I say more!

The most stunning house I have ever stayed in!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at Waterside House for my friend's hen do this past weekend and I cannot rate the house highly enough. The pictures for this property do not do justice as to how beautiful and luxurious this house was-we couldn't believe our luck when we walked through the front door! Everything is finished to such a high standard and the facilities go beyond what I would expect of a holiday home, from the underfloor heating to the dvd library. The wood fired hot tub was bliss and to be able to relax in such beautiful surroundings was amazing. We went as a party of 11 and not once did it feel crowded, with plenty of space and seating to be comfortable at all times. The owner James was lovely, from the beautiful welcome basket of goodies that greeted us to the constant care over the hot tub, making sure it was ready for us to use each evening. I honestly cannot recommend this beautiful home highly enough and the only downside for me is that the weekend is over! I certainly hope to return one day!
