About Paul Clark

Hi!

I'm Paul and I live and work on our family farm Southcombe.

I have a number of great jobs on the farm.

Looking after all aspects of the farms holiday accommodation. This includes everything from managing bookings, welcoming our guests, cleaning and maintenance.

I am a fully qualified canoe and kayak instructor and I have my own canoe guiding business called the Bude Canoe Experience.

I look after the Southcombe flock of sheep.

If you decide to stay with us I am confident that you will love your accommodation, the farm and surrounding area!

Hope to see you soon,

Paul.

Why Paul Clark chose Torridge

We originally moved to Southcombe to start a stud farm. Its location is perfect, situated down a 1/4 of a mile private drive, it is quiet and totally private. However, just because we are quiet and secluded does not mean we are isolated! The lovely market town of Holsworthy is just 5 minutes drive away and Bude with its great beaches just 15 - 20 minutes away.

Our immediate countryside is classic of Devon, yet a few minutes west in the car you are on the Dramatic North Devon and Cornwall coast and to the South East the wilderness of Dartmoor awaits!

Southcombe is no longer a stud farm since my father retired. We now farm sheep and have diversified into tourism with high quality holiday accommodation and canoe experiences.

What makes this cottage unique

The Homestead is really is unique!

Comfortable and very well equipped. Set in a lovely private garden with West facing veranda.

60 acres of farm is available for you to explore straight out of your gate!

We welcome our guests to help us feed the animals, collect eggs and check the sheep! Young children especially enjoy this.

We also have a nature trail complete with hide and you quite often see deer, fox and numerous birds including buzzard and Heron.

Off the farm we are conveniently located for many other attractions, beaches, national parks and indeed shops and pubs!

You won't be disappointed if you decide to stay at Southcombe Farm!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have just returned from a one week stay in the Homestead. The accommodation was well presented and very clean. Homemade cake, tea, coffee, milk and 6 fresh eggs were provided on arrival. The house was very well equipped for a comfortable stay, and the kitchen had everything we required, even a cafetiere! All bedding, towels and bathrobes are provided.

The setting of the farm is very peaceful and made it a relaxing place to come back to each day. Our 4 year old loved feeding the chickens, ducks and cats each morning, and collecting the eggs. Another highlight was the tractor ride around the farm.

The Nature Trail is good for spotting wildlife and there's also 2 playhouses half way round for the kids! The farm is well situated for exploring the Northern coast of Devon and Cornwall, and there are some great beaches nearby.

Paul, Jim and Eileen are fantastic hosts, and nothing is too much to ask. They allow you to explore all of their farm and fields at your leisure.

It was all the little extras that made the holiday excellent for us. Paul, Jim and Eileen will go out of their way to ensure you have a great holiday.

Hopefully we will be able to return here in future.

Fantastic Home for the week

  • 5 of 5

We found the Homestead clean, comfortable and inviting, took a matter of hours to feel at home. Owners are welcoming and knowledgable of the area (thanks for the recommendation of Boscastle), our daughter enjoyed going to see the animals every morning and eating the eggs. Location worked for us as we like to go off and see lots of different places, and this location meant we could explore Devon and Cronwall. Hopeful to return another year.
