Spacious, comfortable accomodation.
This cottage is a real gem. Plenty of space to store all your belongings in kitchen cupboards and wardrobes, something that is lacking in a lot of cottages we have stayed in and very comfortable. Market Overton is a lovely picturesque village and the shop next door and pub on the corner makes it very convenient whether you wish to eat in or out. Easy access to a lot of attractions in the area but a week is really not long enough to see everything.
A great cottage in a pretty setting.
The Old Post Office is a very well equipped, comfortable and extremely clean place to stay. The shop next door was very useful and the Black Bull Pub just around the corner served excellent food. This was a great base for exploring Rutland Water, Oakham, Lincoln, Burghley House and Stamford. Also visited Sandringham in under an hour and a half. We will certainly recommend to family and friends.
A nice place to stay

We'd recommend the property to friends and family and would return ourselves when visiting the area again.
A Village Gem of a Cottage
We spent a very enjoyable week @ 'The Old Post Office Cottage' The accommodation was spotless with a pleasant lounge and well equipped kitchen. The double bedroom was very cosy with plenty of wardrobe space. The second bedroom with two bunk beds was ideal for children. The village shop next door was very handy and well stocked with essentials. The Black Bull Pub round the corner served good food and ale. Alan and Lynn were a very pleasant couple.
The location was ideal for touring the Rutland Water area. The villagers were very friendly and we would highly recommend it as a holiday cottage. .
From the Owner
“My husband and I first bought this property in 1988 when it was the village shop and Post Office. We successfully ran it as that until retirement in 2010 after which time we converted it to residential use, whilst still remaining in our own home adjoining The Old Post Office.”
