Chalet in Loch Shiel, Nr. Acharacle, Scottish Highlands, Scotland - The Perfect Tranquil Location To Relax And Get Away From It All
Dalilea is a tranquil place, which lies on the banks of Loch Shiel in Moidart. Dalilea sits within a working farm, which the Macaulay family have worked for 3 generations now. Our beautiful self-catering lodge sleep 4 and is the perfect base for exploring Ardnamurchan, Mull, the Small Isles, Arisaig, Mallaig and more. The location is perfect for active holidays including walking, cycling, kayaking, and the lodge is perfect for a relaxing retreat and really getting away from it all. The lodge has a lovely open plan living area with a wood burning stove, which is great for those chilly evenings, and a large decking area out the front for relaxing outside and soaking up the scenery.

Guestbook comments from the owner
"We loved the chalet and thoroughly enjoyed being here with wonderful walks in every direction, what a super place to spend a holiday!
Walking along the loch from Dalilea (and cycling the same!)
The walk to the abandoned village at Smirisary and the white beaches beyond.
Boat trip to Eigg from Arisaig.
Sanna and the hills around.
Gravelax from the Smokery.
Cycling to Castle Tioram and walking from there
Actually, we have loved it all (too many places to list!) and greatly appreciated the maps, walk books, and books of local history in the chalet. Thank you for so many thoughtful touches. Hopefully we will come again, there is so much to do and see, and the are, and Dalilea, are so peaceful" Adrian and Vicky Smith
"We have had a fantastic 2 week honeymoon/holiday at Dalilea. The lodge has been everything we wanted, al mod cons and thoughtful touches throughout. We were greeted on our arrival by golden and sea eagles flying behind the lodge above the hill. Izzy, John and the little ones are so lovely and very down to earth, fab hosts. Thank you for everything." Laurie and Karen

Comfort, quiet and beauty
We were fortunate to find this property available at the last minute. It is in a gorgeous location, quite remote but accessible to innumerable places to visit and explore. The owners couldn't have been kinder and the cottage is in pristine condition and extremely comfortable. Be aware that there is no internet access (and even our EE phone service was patchy) and no TV- if you want to unplug for awhile this is the perfect location! Although we have visited Scotland and the Western Highlands several times before, we had never been to the Lochaber/Moidart region and were enchanted by it. We easily accessed the isles of Mull and Skye for day trips from Dalilea and the area just around the farm is also abounding in beauty. Although we did not manage it, the owners provide a boat for hire on Loch Shiel, which previous guests indicated was a real treat. I think we will have to come back again! We would unhesitatingly recommend this property to anyone who wants a beautiful spot to relax and unwind.
