The Annexe adjoins the owner's home in an extremely quiet location within Thorpe St Andrew, a splendid leafy suburb just one mile from Norwich city centre. This stylish first floor apartment offers an inviting sitting room with dining area and French doors to a small south-facing balcony, perfect for a relaxing morning coffee overlooking mature private gardens and a wooded dell. This apartment also has a compact well-equipped fitted kitchen and a bedroom with en-suite and brand new (2015) luxury pocket spring king size bed. Outside, there is a lawned garden which is an ideal spot in which to relax with a book or dine alfresco with a glass of wine on a warm summer’s evening. Just a short walk from The Annexe is a choice of excellent pubs located on the banks of the River Wensum, where you can sit and watch the passing boats from the riverside. The Annexe is superb for couples and those seeking to holiday in a haven of peace and tranquillity, but central to all that Norwich and Norfolk can offer. Norwich has many places of interest, including museums, galleries, cathedrals, good shopping and a wide choice of eateries. We are fortunate to live in such a wonderful stylish area of Norwich, close to the river, pubs and cafe, but far enough away to be secluded and peaceful. We know the area is a fantastic base for holiday makers and this is why we have created The Annexe.

We have lived here since 2009 and were attracted to the wonderful peaceful location, close to the river and four top quality pubs all serving food.

We enjoy making sure that you have a great holiday whilst staying in the Annexe and work hard to maintain it's quality and cleanliness throughout.

What makes this apartment unique

The Annexe is a delightful self contained and private apartment adjoining our property. There is ample parking on the in & out driveway and a modern and cosy environment for your holiday or break.

The Annexe benefits from a Superfast (150mbps!) Broadband wifi connection which is free and included in your booking rental cost.

As well as the wonderful location, there are two private floodlit tennis court for residents of the road, just 400 yards away with guest playing rights for a small fee. (Currently £3).

The river area is popular as it is home to three good quality pubs, a top end cafe & beauty parlour. Relax and enjoy a coffee sitting outside the cafe watching the boats go by, just a short walk from your holiday home.

“Five Star - Great!! The Annex exceeded our expectations. The apartment was immaculately clean, with modern, up-to-date appliances. The sofa in the living room was exceedingly comfortable and of excellent quality leather. We were treated to being the first visitors to enoy the brand new carpet that was laid the day before! The bedroom facilities were also very good with a full-size wardrobe and a very comfortable double bed suite. The gardens viewed from our first floor balcony are beautiful and just as immaculately cared for as the apartment. Our hosts were extremely helpful in giving directions and making sure we had everything we needed. We truly loved the city of Norwich with its old-world buildings, and in particular the daily fresh produce market. Watching the houseboats and children feed the swans on the river at the hamlet of Thorpe St Andrews which is the actual location of The Annexe, was fun.”

Outside: The garden's were professionally designed and planted in 2011 and are a joy to see throughout the year. We have had many compliments from past guest's on how beautiful the gardens are and we hope you'll enjoy looking at them. The house backs onto a woodland dell for extra privacy. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Fresh towels and bed linen are included in hire. The beds will be freshly made and the Annexe will be spotlessly clean.

Clean, comfy, light & airy property

The apartment is in a lovely, leafysetting. So quiet, lovely to wake up to beautiful birdsong. Clean. Very comfy bed, but only two dining chairs, rather awkward when my son & partner visited. Easy access to city via the buses. Only downside was the fact we had to buy our own toilet rolls & washing up liquid as these had not been replenished as stated in the apartment info and we were there for 12 nights. However, a small price to pay for such a delightful stay in a well cared for property. We would recommend it.

Owner's Response: Hi thanks so much for leaving a lovely response for The Annexe. It is a self catering apartment and so we provide washing up liquid and toilet roll for when you first arrive, as we do tea, coffee and milk. However, we are not a hotel and so do not replenish these items during your stay. The apartment is booked for two people only and so there is ample seating provided for our paying guests We hope buying your own items and not being able to seat your visitors at the table did not detract from the enjoyment of your stay. 4th visit speaks for itself. Apartment very comfortable and convenient for buses from the end of the road. Some routes appear to have disappeared since last year although good service to and from railway station.

A delightful accommodation to support any choice of holiday style.

The 'Annexe' is a modern accommodation with all essential requirements, It is very quiet, private, and comfortable. The balcony is ideal for a summers evening tea or tipple overlooking a pretty garden, parking is off road and quite secluded. The owners are charming and ever helpful should you need them. At the bottom of South View road there is a good selection of restaurants either left or right and a nearby Sainsburys for self catering. From here Norwich and the beautiful county of Norfolk is at your leisure, enjoy!
