About Christine Baxter

Myself, Christine, and Alex are both professional artists and regularly use our home in Astaillac for painting trips. We both teach painting and sculpture in France - although this is post-poned for the Summer of 2018. Both Alex and I exhibit our work regularly and teach in the UK.

Christine Baxter purchased this house in 2010

Why Christine Baxter chose Astaillac

We travelled all over both France and Italy, searching for the ideal property that had a beautiful, picturesque countryside.

The views at Briance are just wonderful, and the views from the house were exactly what sold it to us. It is quite a busy tourist area with plenty going on, but the village itself is quite quiet with only a few dozen cars going through it a day.

Despite being small, there is friendly community atmosphere and it's very peaceful and rural.

What makes this house unique

Built on the site of a 12th Century monastery there is a great deal of ecclesiastical masonry incorporated into the property, including the large fireplace in the living room.

Despite being full of history the property is modern and comfortable. In 1936 whilst digging in the cellar a horde of English Silver coins were found dating from the 13th Century!

Toller Ausblick und gute Ausstattung

  • 5 of 5
